Turkey Holiday Packages from Ahmedabad

Reviewed by Thrillophilia Operations Team

Updated as of June 2026

Turkey tour packages from Ahmedabad start from INR 60,500 per person for a 5-day trip and go up to INR 2,35,500 per person for a 12-day multi-country itinerary covering Italy, Greece, and Turkey. With more than 10 customisable packages, travellers can choose from short city breaks, classic Turkey holidays, and longer European combinations.

At present, there are no direct flights from Ahmedabad to Istanbul. Most travellers fly with a single stop in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Doha. While the journey takes a little longer, these are popular and convenient transit hubs for travellers from Ahmedabad. Once you arrive in Turkey, the experience feels completely different, with Ottoman mosques, bustling bazaars, and scenic views of the Bosphorus shaping daily life.

One of Turkey's biggest attractions is the variety it offers within a single trip. In Istanbul, you can explore historic landmarks such as the Byzantine-era Hagia Sophia and the Ottoman Blue Mosque. A short domestic flight takes you to Cappadocia, famous for its unique rock formations and sunrise hot air balloon rides. Longer itineraries often include Pamukkale's white calcium terraces and the ancient Roman city of Ephesus, allowing travellers to experience different landscapes, cultures, and periods of history in one journey.

According to feedback from verified Ahmedabad travellers, Istanbul and Cappadocia remain the most popular combination, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5. Travellers who choose 9 to 10-night packages that also include destinations like Pamukkale or Bursa often report the highest satisfaction, as these itineraries offer a more complete Turkey experience without feeling too rushed.

Why Turkey Works Well as a First International Trip from Ahmedabad

Turkey offers a great mix of history, culture, natural beauty, and affordability, making it a popular choice for first-time international travellers from Ahmedabad.

  • Multiple Experiences in One Trip – Visit Istanbul's famous attractions, enjoy a hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, and see Pamukkale's stunning white terraces during the same holiday.
  • Good Value for Money – Turkey is often more affordable than many other international destinations, helping travellers get more from their travel budget.
  • Vegetarian-Friendly Destination – Istanbul's tourist areas have many vegetarian options, including soups, breads, mezze platters, stuffed grape leaves, and grilled vegetables.
  • Rich History and Heritage – Explore ancient sites and landmarks that reflect the country's Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman past.

  • On-ground assistance from local support teams throughout the trip.

General Exclusions

The following are usually not included unless specifically mentioned in the package:

  • Cappadocia hot air balloon rides (included in select packages and available as an add-on in others).
  • Lunch and other meals not mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Personal expenses, tips, and optional activities not listed in the package.

What Makes Turkey Package Prices Go Up or Down

The cost of a Turkey tour package can vary based on the destinations included, hotel category, activities, and the time of travel. Here are the main factors that affect the overall price:

  • Number of Destinations Covered – Packages that include multiple destinations such as Istanbul, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, and Antalya, generally cost more than shorter trips focused on just one or two cities, as they involve additional flights, transfers, accommodation, and sightseeing.
  • Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Ride – This is one of Turkey's most iconic experiences and is available as an optional add-on in most packages. Travellers can choose to include it for an additional cost and enjoy breathtaking sunrise views over Cappadocia's unique landscapes.
  • Hotel Type and Stay Experience – Accommodation choices can have a significant impact on the package cost. Cave hotels in Cappadocia are usually priced higher than standard hotels because of their unique setting, traditional architecture, and scenic valley views.
  • Season of Travel – Prices are usually highest during the peak summer months of July and August when demand is at its peak. Travelling during April to May or September to October often offers a better balance of pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and competitive hotel rates.

Top Places to Visit on Your Turkey Trip from Ahmedabad

Turkey is home to some of the world's most famous historical landmarks, cultural attractions, and scenic experiences. Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning to explore more, these are some of the must-visit places to include in your itinerary.

Istanbul: Where Two Continents Meet

Hagia Sophia: 1,500 Years of History

Originally built as a Byzantine cathedral in 537 CE, Hagia Sophia has served as a cathedral, mosque, museum, and mosque again over its long history. Today, it is one of the most iconic landmarks in Turkey. Inside, visitors can see beautiful Byzantine mosaics alongside impressive Ottoman calligraphy, reflecting centuries of cultural and architectural influence.

  • Entry: Free (as of June 2026)
  • Visitor Information: Women are required to cover their heads, and shoes must be removed before entering.
  • Best For: All travellers, especially first-time visitors.

Thrillophilia Tip: Visit early on a weekday to avoid long queues. A guided tour helps you better understand the history and significance of the monument.

Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque)

Built between 1609 and 1616, the Blue Mosque is famous for its six minarets and more than 20,000 hand-painted blue and white Iznik tiles that decorate its interior. It is an active place of worship and is one of Istanbul's most visited attractions.

  • Entry: Free
  • Visitor Information: Closed to tourists during the five daily prayer sessions.

Thrillophilia Tip: The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are located directly opposite each other, making it easy to visit both on the same morning.

Topkapi Palace: The Heart of the Ottoman Empire

Topkapi Palace served as the residence of Ottoman sultans and the administrative centre of the Ottoman Empire for nearly 400 years. Visitors can explore royal courtyards, imperial chambers, and the famous Treasury, which houses treasures such as the Topkapi Dagger and the Spoonmaker's Diamond. The Harem section, available with a separate ticket, offers additional insight into palace life.

  • Entry Fee: Approximately INR 1,700 to 2,000 for the main palace.
  • Harem Entry: Approximately INR 700 to 900 extra.

Thrillophilia Tip: During peak season, book tickets in advance to avoid long queues, especially for the Treasury section.

Bosphorus Cruise: See Istanbul from the Water

A Bosphorus cruise offers a unique perspective of Istanbul, showcasing waterfront palaces, historic landmarks, neighbourhoods along both shores, and the bridges connecting Europe and Asia. It is one of the best ways to experience the city's beauty.

  • Short Cruise Cost: Approximately INR 400 to 1,500 per person for public ferry routes.
  • Private or Guided Cruises: Approximately INR 3,000 to 8,000 per person.
  • Duration: Usually 1 to 2 hours for daytime cruises.

Thrillophilia Tip: Public Bosphorus ferries offer an authentic and budget-friendly experience. Our team can help you choose the best option based on your itinerary.

Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar

The Grand Bazaar is one of the world's oldest and largest covered markets, featuring more than 4,000 shops spread across 61 covered streets. It is a popular place to shop for Turkish ceramics, leather goods, tea sets, Turkish delight, and traditional souvenirs.

The nearby Spice Bazaar is easier to explore on foot, offering a wide selection of spices, saffron, dried fruits, nuts, teas, and Turkish sweets.

Shopping Tip: Bargaining is common, and initial prices are often higher than the final selling price.

Thrillophilia Tip: Visit both bazaars in the morning for a more relaxed shopping experience before larger tour groups arrive.

Cappadocia: Cave Hotels, Fairy Chimneys, and Balloon Sunrises

Hot Air Balloon Ride at Sunrise

A sunrise hot air balloon ride is one of the most iconic experiences in Turkey. Every morning, several colourful balloons rise above Cappadocia's valleys, offering views of fairy chimneys, cave homes, vineyards, and the distant Erciyes Volcano. Most flights last 45 to 60 minutes and often end with a celebratory toast after landing.

As shared by Harsh & Priya Mehta, who travelled on a Turkey Couple Trip with Thrillophilia in March 2026, "Watching 100+ balloons rise over Cappadocia at sunrise was the highlight of our anniversary trip. Thrillophilia's team even helped us reschedule after the weather caused a cancellation." Experiences like these are what make a Turkey holiday truly memorable.

  • Price Range: Approximately INR 18,000 to 22,000 per person, depending on the season and operator.
  • Scheduling Tip: Balloon rides depend on weather conditions and may be cancelled due to wind or poor visibility. Cancellation rates are generally higher during winter.
  • Travel Tip: Avoid booking your balloon ride on your final morning in Cappadocia, especially if you have a domestic flight later that day.

Booking Tip: Always check whether the balloon ride is included in your package or available as a paid add-on, and review the cancellation and refund policy.

Goreme Open Air Museum

This UNESCO World Heritage Site features more than 30 rock-cut churches, chapels, and monasteries, many of which still contain original Byzantine frescoes. The Dark Church (Karanlik Kilise) is known for having some of the best-preserved frescoes in the region.

  • Entry Fee: Approximately INR 1,800 to 2,200 per person.
  • Dark Church Entry: Separate ticket required.
  • Recommended Visit Duration: Around 2 hours with a guide for a better understanding of the site's history.

Fairy Chimneys: Pasabag and Devrent Valley

The fairy chimneys are Cappadocia's most famous natural formations. These tall volcanic rock structures have been shaped by centuries of wind and erosion.

  • Pasabag is known for its large concentration of mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys.
  • Devrent Valley is famous for rock formations that resemble animals, faces, and other shapes.

Both locations can easily be explored as part of a half-day excursion from Göreme.

Kaymakli or Derinkuyu Underground Cities

These underground cities were carved from soft volcanic rock and used by early Christian communities as shelters during invasions.

  • Derinkuyu extends about 85 metres underground across eight levels.
  • The city includes churches, living areas, storage rooms, stables, wine cellars, and ventilation systems.
  • Some tunnels are narrow and low, making them less suitable for travellers with claustrophobia or very young children.
  • Entry Fee: Approximately INR 800 to 1,200 per person.

Cave Hotels in Cappadocia

A cave hotel stay is one of Cappadocia's most unique experiences. These rooms are carved from volcanic rock and feature traditional stone interiors. Many hotels in Göreme and Uchisar also offer terraces with beautiful valley views.

While different from conventional luxury hotels, the atmosphere is truly distinctive and memorable.

  • Price Range: Approximately INR 6,000 to 25,000 per night, depending on the hotel and room category.

Pamukkale and Hierapolis: The White Terraces

Pamukkale is famous for its iconic white terraces, formed over centuries by mineral-rich thermal water flowing down the hillside. Visitors can walk barefoot on designated sections of the terraces and enjoy the warm thermal pools.

Next to Pamukkale lies Hierapolis, an ancient Greco-Roman city known for its well-preserved ruins and impressive amphitheatre that once seated around 12,000 people.

Another popular attraction is the Antique Pool, where visitors can swim among submerged Roman column fragments.

  • Pamukkale Entry Fee: Approximately INR 1,200 to 1,500 per person.
  • Antique Pool Entry: Approximately INR 700 to 1,000 per person.
  • Package Benefit: Entry may be included in select Thrillophilia packages.

Thrillophilia Tip: Visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon for a more comfortable experience. The terraces can become very hot during midday, especially in summer.

Ephesus (Efes): One of the Best-Preserved Roman Cities in the World

Ephesus was once one of the most important cities of the Roman Empire, with an estimated population of around 200,000 people. Today, visitors can explore remarkable landmarks such as the Library of Celsus, the Great Theatre, which could seat approximately 25,000 people, and the marble-paved Curetes Street. The site also includes the remains of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Although only a single column of the Temple of Artemis survives today, a guided visit helps bring the history of this ancient city to life.

  • Entry Fee: Approximately INR 1,500 to 2,000 per person.
  • Best For: History enthusiasts, families with older children, and travellers on longer Turkey itineraries.

Thrillophilia Tip: During July and August, temperatures rise quickly. Starting your visit by 7 am helps you avoid the heat and crowds. Allow at least 3 hours to properly explore the site.

Bursa: The First Ottoman Capital

Before Istanbul became the centre of the Ottoman Empire, Bursa served as its first major capital. Today, the city is known for its rich Ottoman heritage, historic mosques, and beautiful mountain scenery. Some of Bursa's most popular attractions include the Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami), the Green Mosque, Uludag Mountain, and the Bursa Cable Car (Teleferik), which offers panoramic views of the city and, on clear days, the Marmara Sea.

Travellers can reach Bursa from Istanbul by taking a ferry from Kabatas Pier to Mudanya, followed by a short transfer. The total journey takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.

Package Highlight: Bursa is included as a key destination in Thrillophilia's popular 9-day Turkey package from Ahmedabad.

What to skip on a first Turkey trip: Ankara, Bodrum, and Izmir are genuinely interesting destinations, but they are best saved for a second visit. Adding them to an already full Istanbul and Cappadocia itinerary squeezes the time in the two places that justify the entire trip. Thrillophilia's team consistently advises against itinerary overload, particularly for first-time Turkey travellers from Ahmedabad.

Best Time to Visit Turkey from Ahmedabad

Turkey offers different experiences throughout the year, and the best time to visit depends on your travel preferences. Whether you want pleasant weather, reliable hot air balloon rides, coastal holidays, or lower prices, each season has its own advantages.

April to May: The Best Overall Time to Visit

Spring is considered one of the best times to visit Turkey. The weather is pleasant across Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Pamukkale, making it ideal for sightseeing. In April, Istanbul's parks are filled with colourful tulips during the annual Tulip Festival, while Cappadocia generally offers good conditions for hot air balloon rides. Travelling during this season also allows you to enjoy popular attractions before the peak summer crowds and higher hotel prices arrive.

  • Temperature: Istanbul: 14°C to 20°C | Cappadocia: 10°C to 18°C (early mornings can be cold for balloon rides)
  • Why Visit: Comfortable weather, reliable balloon operations, and fewer crowds than summer.
  • Thrillophilia Insight: Book your trip 6 to 8 weeks in advance, as April and May are popular with both Indian and international travellers.

September to November: Pleasant Weather and Better Value

Autumn is another excellent time to visit Turkey. The summer heat starts to fade, tourist crowds become smaller, and hotel prices are often lower than during spring. Coastal destinations remain pleasant through September, and Cappadocia continues to offer good conditions for balloon rides. Istanbul is especially beautiful in late October when the weather becomes cooler.

  • Temperature: Istanbul: 17°C to 25°C | Cappadocia: 8°C to 20°C
  • Best For: Couples, relaxed holidays, and travellers looking for good value.

June to August: Best for Coastal Turkey

Summer is the busiest travel season in Turkey. While destinations such as Antalya and the Turquoise Coast are at their best during this time, inland destinations like Istanbul and Cappadocia can become quite hot, especially during the afternoon.

If you are travelling in summer, it is best to plan outdoor sightseeing during the morning or evening and visit indoor attractions during the hottest hours of the day.

  • Temperature: Istanbul: 26°C to 35°C | Cappadocia: 22°C to 32°C | Antalya: 32°C to 38°C
  • Why Visit: Ideal for beach holidays, coastal resorts, and water activities.

December to March: Budget-Friendly Winter Travel

Winter is the most affordable time to visit Turkey. Istanbul is quieter, hotel prices are lower, and popular attractions are less crowded. Cappadocia can look especially beautiful when snow covers the fairy chimneys, creating unique landscapes.

However, winter also brings a higher chance of hot air balloon cancellations due to weather conditions. Snow can occasionally affect road travel in Cappadocia during January and February, making travel insurance particularly important.

  • Temperature: Istanbul: 5°C to 10°C | Cappadocia: -3°C to 8°C
  • Best For: Budget-conscious travellers and those who want to explore Turkey without the peak-season crowds.

Turkey Travel Essentials for Ahmedabad Travellers

A few simple travel tips can help make your Turkey holiday more comfortable and hassle-free.

Currency and Payments

Turkey uses the Turkish Lira (TRY). Cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and most shops across Istanbul and other major tourist destinations. However, it is a good idea to carry some cash for local markets, small purchases, tips, and street food.

Recommended Spending Money:

  • Budget Traveller: TRY 3,000 to 5,000 (around INR 6,300 to 10,500)
  • Mid-Range Traveller: TRY 5,000 to 10,000 (around INR 10,500 to 21,000)
  • Premium Traveller: TRY 10,000+ (around INR 21,000+)

SIM Cards and Internet

Tourist SIM cards and eSIM options are easily available upon arrival in Turkey. Mobile coverage is generally good in popular destinations such as Istanbul, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, and Antalya.

Visiting Mosques

When visiting famous mosques such as Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, shoes must be removed before entering. Visitors should dress modestly, and women are required to cover their heads with a scarf. Tourist access may be restricted during prayer times.

Food for Vegetarians

Turkey offers plenty of vegetarian-friendly food, especially in Istanbul and other tourist areas. Popular options include lentil soup, mezze platters, stuffed grape leaves, flatbreads, grilled vegetables, and yoghurt-based dishes.

What to Pack

  • Spring and Autumn (April–May, September–October): Light layers, comfortable walking shoes, and a light jacket.
  • Summer (June–August): Lightweight clothing, sunscreen, and a hat.
  • Winter (November–March): Warm clothing, a jacket, and comfortable waterproof shoes.

With a 4.6/5 post-trip rating from verified travellers, Thrillophilia brings operational depth to Turkey packages that generic booking platforms cannot match. Whether you are planning a short city break or a longer Ahmedabad to Turkey package, Thrillophilia helps simplify every stage of your journey.

Here is what that looks like in practice for Ahmedabad travellers.

  • Flight Guidance from Ahmedabad – Our team helps you choose convenient one-stop flight connections from Ahmedabad, ensuring a comfortable travel time and avoiding unnecessarily long or tiring routes.
  • Clear Information on Balloon Rides – We clearly mention whether the Cappadocia hot air balloon ride is included in your package or available as an optional add-on. We also provide details about cancellation and refund policies, so there are no surprises.
  • Visa Documentation Support – We provide important travel documents such as hotel vouchers, confirmed booking details, and day-wise itineraries that may be required for your visa application. While visa approval depends on the Turkish authorities, we help ensure your documents are properly prepared.
  • Expert Cave Hotel Recommendations – Based on traveller feedback and local knowledge, we help you choose cave hotels in Göreme and Uçhisar that offer authentic experiences and scenic valley views.
  • 24/7 On-Trip Assistance – Our local support teams remain available throughout your journey to assist with any travel-related issues, including itinerary changes caused by weather conditions, balloon ride cancellations, or domestic flight delays.

Turkey was our first international trip as a couple and Thrillophilia sorted hotels, transfers and some entry tickets in advance which meant we did not have to stress about anything on the ground. Our coordinator Arjun was helpful throughout.

Shopping at the Grand Bazaar was the absolute highlight for us! Thrillophilia’s guide gave us great tips on how to bargain for the famous Turkish lamps and authentic spices—we brought back so many souvenirs for our friends in Ahmedabad. Another specific shout-out to the private boat tour in the Aegean sea; the water was a stunning shade of blue, and Thrillophilia arranged for a wonderful lunch on board. We also loved the pottery workshop in Avanos; it was a fun, hands-on experience that gave us a real taste of local Turkish craftsmanship.

Traveling from Ahmedabad, we initially had concerns about finding suitable food options and handling long inter-city journeys, but Thrillophilia made everything incredibly smooth. The 10-day Turkey itinerary was thoughtfully designed and executed. Right from our arrival in Istanbul, the airport transfers and comfortable AC coaches were perfectly arranged. The hotels were conveniently located in central areas, making it easy for us to explore nearby markets in the evenings. The coordination between the Ahmedabad booking team and the on-ground staff in Turkey was excellent—we always felt supported with timely updates and assistance via WhatsApp... Read More

The thermal waters at Pamukkale were so refreshing. Thrillophilia’s timing was perfect; we arrived early enough to avoid the heavy afternoon crowds, which made for some incredible photos of the white terraces!

This was a very well-organized and insightful trip. Turkey is a vast country rich in history, but Thrillophilia’s thoughtfully planned itinerary made it feel easy to explore. We really appreciated the perfect balance between guided tours and personal leisure time to wander through local Turkish tea shops and bazaars. The local guides were extremely courteous and always ready to assist with our luggage at every stop. The seamless internal flights between Istanbul and Antalya added great convenience, making the entire vacation relaxing and completely hassle-free for my family from Ahmedabad.

Hello Everyone, I had a wonderful trip to Turkey along with my family. Thanks to Thrillophilia team for arranging it without any hassle. I have booked it for the first time through online platform and got good competitive deals compared to other known travelling company. Itinerary was well planned with internal flight to reduce travel time by coach. We were able to enjoy all the places with plenty of time available to feel the actual atmosphere around.
