The trek from  Iruppu Falls to Bramhagiri peak is a moderate trek filled with dense forests, river streams, and diverse flora and fauna. The Bramhagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 181 square kilometres. It houses the lion-tailed macaque, Malabar giant squirrel, and various birds, including the Malabar trogon and emerald dove. By car/taxi: Bramhagiri Hill is about 97 km from the Madikeri city centre, via Madikeri - Virajpet Rd. It will take you around  2 hours and 30 minutes to get there.

Avoid the monsoon season (June–September) because the trails get slippery, and it's hard to get to them because of the heavy rain and safety rules in the forest.

Is a permit required for trekking?

Yes, a permit is required from the Forest Department at Srimangala or Iruppu Forest Office for trekking. This may include a nominal fee and optional guide service. An overnight stay at Narimale Forest Camp also requires prior booking.

Can I camp at Brahmagiri Hills?
