How to Reach Thailand from Mumbai

Mumbai has excellent direct connectivity to Bangkok for a Thailand tour package. IndiGo, Air India, and Thai Airways all operate non-stop flights from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai (CSMIA), to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Flight duration is approximately 4.5 hours. Bangkok is the main gateway to most of the Thailand tour packages from Mumbai.

Average flight duration:

  • Mumbai to Bangkok: Approximately 4 to 4.5 hours
  • Mumbai to Phuket: Approximately 5 hours

From Bangkok, domestic Thai Airways, Nok Air, and Bangkok Airways flights connect you to Phuket, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, and Krabi in roughly 1.5 hours. These domestic connections are usually already included in multi-destination packages.

Cost Overview: Round-trip flight fares generally range between INR 18,000 and INR 40,000, depending on season and booking period.

Note: If your package starts at Phuket directly, some deals include a connecting flight via Bangkok with a short layover. Check the routing in your package details before booking. Moreover, book your flights 3 months prior to get the best price of flights and keep the Thailand trip from Mumbai cost under budget.

Visa and Entry Notes for Indian Travellers

Indian tourists need no visa to travel to Thailand if they are Indian passport holders. As confirmed by the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, Indians need no visa for up to 30 days for a tourism or short business trip to Bangkok and Pattaya.

Now you can go for a Thailand trip package from Mumbai without any visa hassle. Keep a note that visa-free entry and visa-requirement-free are two different things. Don't stop reading after seeing "it's visa-free"; there is a lot more than this. There are three types of entry concepts you can plan for your Thiland tour package from Mumbai.

  1. Visa Exemption for 30 days – No prior application needed for Indian passport holders for tourism and short business trips. With zero cost, no airport fee, and no need for advance application. You can extend it for 30 more days directly from the Thai immigration office in Thailand. Indians need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before departure and carry proof of hotels and return flights.
  2. Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) – This card is mandatory for Indian travellers and all non-Thai citizens. A Bangkok and Pattaya tour package requires travellers to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within three days before arrival. Apply through the official portal, as airlines will not allow boarding without a valid TDAC submission.
  3. Thailand e-Visa – Travellers who are planning to stay beyond 60 days for their Thailand package from Mumbai for work or study purposes need an e-visa for Thailand. Apply for it from the official site. The Thai e-Visa takes 14 days for processing. You will receive an email with the e-visa once approved. Upload the biodata page of your passport and a recent photo while applying.

At Thrillophilia, we also assist travellers with visa guidance and pre-departure support to make the process smoother for your first-time Thailand trip from Mumbai.

Best Time to Visit Thailand From Mumbai

The best time to plan a Thailand package from Mumbai is generally between November and March, based on weather patterns verified through Thrillophilia’s on-ground team having experience of planning thousands of Thailand tour packages from Mumbai across destinations like Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, and Pattaya throughout the year.

November to February

This is the most comfortable season for executing a Thailand tour package from Mumbai. Weather conditions remain pleasant across Bangkok, Phuket, and Krabi. The weather across the country is dry, breezy, and comfortable, with temperatures ranging from 22 to 32 degrees Celsius. This is peak season for a Thiland package from Mumbai, so prices are slightly higher, but the experience is worth it.

Best for a Thailand honeymoon package, also for a Thailand tour package from Mumbai for family. Moreover, travellers planning for island tours or a Thailand package from Mumbai, including top sightseeing, must go for this season.

  • Honeymooners
  • Families
  • Island tours
  • Outdoor sightseeing

March to May

March to May is hot for a Thailand tour package from Mumbai, especially in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, where it can touch 40 degrees Celsius. Temperatures rise during these months, but this period often offers better hotel deals and lower flight prices. It is a great time for beach destinations like Phuket and Krabi, where sea breezes keep things manageable.

Travellers seeking a budget trip to Thailand or a short trip must go for this season, as the prices are quite below budget. Also, a shopping-focused Thailand package from Mumbai can also be about this season.

June to October

June through October is monsoon time for planning Thailand tour packages from Mumbai, except for the east coast in the Gulf of Thailand, which receives its rain from October to December. Thus, July is just perfect for a visit to Koh Samui. Phuket and Krabi receive the maximum rainfall during May to October; however, this is also the period during which one finds some good low-season offers.

This season is best for value-focused travellers, green-season photography lovers and travellers seeking less crowded places in Thailand.

Places to Visit in Thailand

Thailand trip packages from Mumbai cover a wide range of destinations, each offering a completely different experience. Here are the major places to visit in Thailand.

Noorjahan Sheikh, one of our verified travellers who booked the Scenic Trails of Thailand | Journey through Phuket, Koh Samui & Krabi with Full-Moon Party package, shared in May 2026 that "Thailand is perfect for a friends group trip because there is something for everyone: nightlife, beaches, shopping, island tours, and bars. We covered Bangkok and Phuket, and both places had a completely different vibe, which kept the trip exciting. The island tour was definitely the highlight for us. Spending the day on the water, visiting beautiful spots, and just enjoying together made it unforgettable. It was the kind of trip where you come back with inside jokes, too many photos, and memories that stay with you for years. Thrillophilia's ground and support team was very helpful whenever we had any issues.”

Bangkok

Bangkok is usually where most Thailand tour packages from Mumbai begin. The city feels energetic without becoming overwhelming if planned properly. Families typically spend time exploring the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, floating markets, rooftop viewpoints, and riverside areas around the Chao Phraya River.

Children often enjoy Bangkok more than expected because the city constantly shifts between traditional temples, shopping districts, aquariums, and themed attractions.

Phuket

Phuket works well for Mumbai travellers who want a slower beach segment within the trip. Kata Beach and Karon Beach are generally preferred by families because they feel calmer compared to Patong.

Beyond beaches, Phuket also offers island tours, cultural shows, cafés, old-town walks, and easy access to Phang Nga Bay. Sunset hours here usually become the most memorable part of the stay.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai feels noticeably quieter than Bangkok and often becomes a favourite destination for travellers looking for a more relaxed pace. Surrounded by mountains and temples, the city combines culture, markets, cafés, and nature experiences within a smaller and easier-to-navigate setting.

The Doi Suthep Temple overlooking the city remains one of the most visited spots here, especially during morning hours.

Krabi

Krabi is usually chosen for its dramatic limestone cliffs, island-hopping routes, and laid-back coastal atmosphere. Railay Beach, Ao Nang, and nearby islands remain popular among travellers who prefer scenic beach destinations without the fast pace of larger cities.

The boat rides across Krabi’s islands also tend to become a highlight for children.

Safari World Bangkok

Safari World remains one of the more fun attractions in Bangkok for kids and travellers planning a Thailand tour package for family. The park combines open safari zones, marine attractions, and interactive animal experiences within a full-day outing.

Families generally prefer visiting during weekdays because weekends become significantly more crowded.

Phuket FantaSea

Phuket FantaSea combines cultural storytelling, stage performances, lights, and elaborate theatrical production into one evening experience. Phuket is mostly included in a Thailand trip package from Mumbai because the performances feel visually engaging even without understanding the language.

Things to Do on a Thailand Tour Package From Mumbai

If you book a Thailand tour package from Mumbai, here are some of the best things to do in Thailand:

Take a Chao Phraya dinner cruise.

A dinner cruise in Bangkok offers a slower and more scenic side of the city after the daytime rush. Travellers usually enjoy watching illuminated temples and skyline views while cruising along the river.

The relaxed pace works especially well after busy sightseeing days.

Explore Floating Markets

Bangkok’s floating markets remain one of the most unique cultural experiences for Thailand trip package travellers. Markets like Damnoen Saduak and Maeklong Railway Market give travellers a glimpse into traditional local trading culture beyond malls and tourist streets.

Early morning departures generally work best because the markets become hotter and more crowded later in the day.

Visit the Mahanakhon SkyWalk

The Mahanakhon SkyWalk offers panoramic views across Bangkok from one of the tallest buildings in Thailand. The glass-floor observation deck often becomes the main attraction for teenagers and first-time visitors.

Sunset slots usually provide the best overall experience because the city transitions from daylight into Bangkok’s illuminated skyline.

Enjoy an Island Tour near Phuket

Island tours near Phuket usually include Phang Nga Bay, James Bond Island, Phi Phi Islands, or smaller limestone islands across the Andaman Sea.

Families often prefer speedboat tours with fewer island stops because long day trips can become tiring for younger children.

Spend a Day at Dream World Bangkok

Dream World combines roller coasters, themed zones, family rides, and water attractions within one large amusement park. Families travelling with children between 6 and 15 years generally spend an entire day here comfortably.

One useful detail is that weekdays feel significantly less crowded compared to weekends and public holidays.

Visit the Sanctuary of Truth, Pattaya

The Sanctuary of Truth is one of Thailand’s most impressive wooden structures and feels very different from standard tourist attractions. The hand-carved architecture combines Buddhist and Hindu motifs while overlooking the coastline of Pattaya.

Travellers who enjoy cultural experiences usually find this more memorable than commercial entertainment attractions.

She was professional, responsive, and helped us with every detail, making our journey stress-free and enjoyable. Excellent trip! Our discussions with the Thrillophilia team started in mid-May, and since it was quite late to plan, hotel prices were already very high. However, Bunty Datta coordinated everything exceptionally well. He was patient, listened carefully to all our requirements, and made sure every request was incorporated into the plan. The choice of hotels, internal transportation, and the overall itinerary were curated perfectly. Everything was so seamless that we truly felt at home even while being in another country. A big shout-out to the entire Thrillophilia team, especially Bunty Datta, for their outstanding work. This was my second tri... Read More

Booked Malaysia for the family through Thrillophilia. Kuala Lumpur Petronas Towers at night was the first thing we did and it set the mood for the whole trip. Penang food scene was something we did not expect to enjoy as much as we did. Batu Caves was an early morning suggestion by our coordinator that turned out to be a great call. Hotels were good, transfers were on time. No major issues. Good value overall.

Bangkok is a must for any first-time visitor. Add Phuket or Krabi if your duration allows. The Bangkok plus Phuket combination in 5 to 6 days is the most booked Thailand itinerary for Indians. If you are more into culture than beaches, replace Phuket with Chiang Mai for a very different but equally rewarding experience.

Is Thailand good for a honeymoon trip?

Absolutely. Thailand is one of the top honeymoon destinations for Indian couples. Phuket, Koh Samui, and Krabi offer private pool villas, beach candlelit dinners, couples' spa packages, and some of the most romantic settings you can find at a reasonable price. Many Thrillophilia Thailand honeymoon packages from Mumbai include romantic add-ons like room decorations, sunset cruises, and spa vouchers.

What is the ideal Thailand trip for families with kids?

Bangkok and Pattaya make an excellent family combination. In Bangkok, kids enjoy the Safari World and Marine Park, which has a drive-through safari and one of Asia's largest open zoos. Pattaya has the Cartoon Network Amazone water park, the Underwater World aquarium, and excellent beach days. Koh Samui is also very family-friendly with calm beaches and kid-safe resort pools. A 5- to 7-night family package covering Bangkok and Pattaya is usually the top pick.

What should I pack for a Thailand tour package from Mumbai?

Pack light, breathable cotton clothes. Carry a light full-sleeve top or scarf for temple visits where you need to cover up. Good flip-flops and one pair of comfortable walking shoes are essential. Sunscreen with SPF 50 or above is a must, especially on beach days. A small waterproof bag is handy for island trips. And carry some Thai Baht in cash, especially for street food, tuk-tuks, and small market purchases. Most malls and restaurants accept cards.
