Puente de Triana Overview

Built during the period of Queen Isabella II, the Puente de Triana is famously known as the Isabel II bridge. Commissioned by two French engineers, Ferdinand Bernadet and Gustave Steinacher, this bridge stands over the Guadalquivir river, between Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Córdoba. The construction of this magnificent bridge took more than seven years.

Standing parallel to the Sant Telmo bridge, the Triana bridge is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Seville. The Puente de Triana carries several years of history, which also comprises the damages, reconstruction, and rebuilding period.

It was only in the nineteenth century when Queen Isabella II undertook the rebuilding of the Triana bridge, and hence, Puente de Triana is also known as the Isabella II bridge.

The inspiration for the new design of the bridge was taken from the very famous Pont du Carrousel bridge present over the Seine in Paris, which no longer exists today. Indulge in viewing Seville city from the bridge, and take a stroll along this beautiful historical structure.

One of the best times to visit the Triana bridge is during the evening hours when the city lights up, and you can view the same. Moreover, during the local festivities here, the entire bridge is adorned with lanterns and garlands.

Cross over the river and head towards Calle Betis, which is a famous restaurant offering some of the best Seville cuisines. Experience fine dining at this restaurant while soaking in the views of the incredible bridge, along with your friends and family.
