About Momijidani Park

This tourist attraction has over 200 trees which were cultivated in the Edo Era. Its path features gentle hills on the foot of the Momijidani River and cut-stone steps for walking.


The park marks the beginning of Mount Misen's hilltop. You can cover this route on foot or via a ropeway. As you begin the trail, you will witness the stunning view of the mountains and calm skies. You will also spot Shika deer who are friendly and easy to approach. You can cover the sightseeing within 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your preference.

How To Reach Momijidani Park

  • By Car: Momijidani Park is approximately 24.8 km from Hiroshima and takes about 45 minutes. You can book a cab to reach Miyajimaguchi. From there, you can take a car ferry which runs every 10 minutes. It will drop you at Miyajima and then there is a 15-minute walk to reach the destination.
  • By Foot: Momijidani Park is close to the Miyajima Pier and it takes merely 20 minutes to reach by walking.
