Visitor Tips
Momijidani Park is renowned for the 200 maple trees scattered on its ground. The literal translation of Momijidani is “Maple Valley”, justifying the importance of these natural beauties. They are the main attractions for anyone who is visiting the city and a nature admirer. The trees especially look beautiful during the fall season. During autumn, leaves shift their colour from red to orange and yellow. This creates a breathtaking view and visitors from across the world love to witness the magic. These falling maple leaves also make a perfect backdrop for photos.
Walk across the park and you will witness the magic of the Momijidani River. It gracefully runs through the side and leaves the tourists spellbound. The river has stone bridges and stepping stones lined up to create a distinctive scene of nature. It is a perfect place to kick back and relax for some time. The clear water of this river is surrounded by foliage and trees to add to the picturesque surroundings.
Cover the landscapes of the park and immerse in the beauty of trees and foliage. This park is the starting point of Mount Misen. You can either hike or use the ropeway to reach the mountain top. There are scenic viewpoints and gentle slopes everywhere, giving you a vivid experience of maple trees and leaves all around. You will particularly appreciate the beauty of these trails if you are a bird watcher or a naturalist.
