Mangrove Safari

The mangrove safari, also known as Kilim Karst Geoforest Park is nestled at the northeastern tip of Langkawi and is full of sandy beaches, mangrove swamps, lush green trees. It is just a 10 minutes drive from Tanjung Rhu beach and thus, is a good option for families; especially those with kids. During the months of September to March, which form the migratory season, tourists can spot different species of birds here.
Some of them being - white-bellied fish eagles, kite eagles, and kingfishers. For the other months, the wildlife is not bad either and comprises of creatures like monitor lizards and tree climbing crabs. Most of the safari tours here introduce tourists to everything mentioned above; and much more.

Parasailing, Langkawi

Highlights – It is better to choose authorised tour operators for parasailing, because one may have to go through lots of risks when choosing illegal operators. Two to three people can travel in one ride and the ride usually takes ten minutes. The thrill that you get when you are lifted close to 500feet above sea level and when you land back safely on to the boat cannot be described in words.
Location– Langkawi Island.
Timing – One parasailing trip takes around 30 minutes to complete. 2 to 3 people are lifted at a time.
Price – RM80 per person on the beach for 3km; RM180 per person on the boat for 8km.

Scuba Diving

Highlights: Best visibility of coral reefs, rock formations and incredible marine lives upto 150 feet (45 meters). Temperate water throughout the year; large number of marine animals, white shark, larger reef fishes and Manta string rays being a common acquaintance under water.

Snorkeling

Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls

Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls, commonly known as seven wells waterfalls, referring to a series of seven natural pools connected to each other in Mount Mat Cincang are one of the best places to visit in Langkawi. The flora surrounded around the pools makes the space stunning and magical - like in fairy tales! Lime plants and Sintuk - a unique type of foliage grows abundantly in the region.
It is a great spot for families to spend some quality time at, taking a dip into the natural pools as well as for hiking enthusiasts to climb the steep hills around the region.

Air Hangat village is a beautiful blend of modernity and culture of Langkawi. It is complex with hot water spring wells that stand to be one of the many other interesting Langkawi tourist places. They are natural saltwater spring wells that are rare and unique not just in Langkawi but across the globe and are found only in three other countries.

Pulau Payar Marine Park

On the list of places to visit in Langkawi, Pulau Payar marine life makes its name well deservingly. The marine park has and continues to attract snorkeling and diving enthusiasts from all over the world who are keen on discovering Langkawi’s underwater life. The park comprises of four islands - Pulau Payar, Pulau Kaca, Pulau Lembu, and Pulau Senangtang; Pulau Payar being the largest one.
The best part is that none of these islands remains inhabited and is preserved by the fisheries department of Kedah, who make sure the pristine condition of these islands are maintained. Tourists here can avail a variety of facilities like barbeque pits, gazebos, picnic tables and lots more.

Datai Bay

Location: Located at the Datai area at the north western end of Langkawi, you can reach here via a taxi or a rental car along the road Jalan Datai (#161). From the Pantai Cenang, it is about a 45 minutes drive to reach the Datai beach.
Highlights: True that there are not too many tourist attractions in this quarter of Langkawi Island however, you can make your way to the Ibrahim Hussein Foundation Museum and the Langkawi Crocodile Farm that are definitely in the close proximity to the Datai Bay. You can also reach these attractions from Kuah and Pantai Kok. Several European visitors can be found here who visit the beach that brings forth breathtaking views.
Langkawi Cable Car

Langkawi Cable car is also known as the Sky Cab claims to be the steepest cable car ride in the world; that takes visitors at a height of 708 meters up in the sky, above the sea level. The cable car carries passengers to Mount Mat Cincang - Langkawi's second highest peak and thus is considered as one of the must-visit places to see in Langkawi.
On a visit here, tourists are advised to carry a jacket as the elevation in height invites chilled winds. The views from the top of this peak make getting onto this ride absolutely worth it and memorable.
