About Large Onofrio's Fountain
The iconic large fountain of Onofrio was constructed in the 15th century and without any doubt is among the most popular historic places to visit in Dubrovnik. Visitors can include this in their itinerary along with the Pile gate, however, this structure has been reduced in size compared to the original. The reason behind the earthquakes of the late 17th century, which caused damage to their foundations. This fountain was also an important part of the water delivery system of the city and was designed by the famous architect Onofrio de ka Cava.
