You could also purchase beautiful terracotta pots and tiles from the local artisans. You could attend music festivals at the Bishnupur school of music, which keeps alive a unique form of Hindustani classical music. And if you want a calm day off, go for a walk by the Kangsabati river.

Bankura has a long summer(March to May), with the temperature reaching up to 40 degrees some days. The monsoon(June to September) season lasts for a good three months. But the best time to go would be winter(November to January), when the weather will be pleasant- sunny and with a hint of cool breeze!
