Best Time to Visit Spiti Valley
The best time to visit depends on what you are looking for as Spiti Valley tour packages from Pune are available all through the year.
1. Summer (March to June): Pleasant temperatures (6°C–15°C) and clear roads via Shimla make this the most popular season to explore. You can visit places like Chandratal Lake, Tabo Monastery, Dhankar, and the high-altitude village of Hikkim. Enjoy cultural experiences during the Tsheshu Festival in June and the Ladarcha Fair in July–August.
2. Monsoon (July to September): Cooler temperatures (4°C–10°C) with light rain with the valley remaining relatively dry. It is a great time to visit Nako Lake, Pin Valley, Mudh Village, and Gue Monastery. Fewer tourists make it ideal for peaceful exploration as well as for attending the Ladarcha Festival in August and experiencing tribal fairs.
3. Winter (October to February): Severe cold temperatures (0°C to –40°C) and heavy snowfall create a stunning white landscape. This is the time to visit snow-covered Kibber, Chicham Bridge, as well as frozen lakes. You can also attend unique festivals like Dechhang, Losar, Gochi, and Fagli which are celebrated with fire rituals, masks, along with traditional dances.
1. Key Monastery: Climb to the monastery for views of Spiti valley, admire rare Tibetan murals, explore ancient relics besides watching monks chanting and 1,000 years of living Buddhist tradition.
2. Pin Valley National Park: You can trek to Mudh village, spot rare wildlife like snow leopards and ibex, explore Kungri Monastery, and enjoy wonderful views of Spiti from the high-altitude trails.
3. Suraj Tal: Ride along the Manali-Leh Highway, stop for nature photography at the lake, trek around its snowy rim, and camp near its emerald waters under starlit skies.
4. Tabo Monastery: You can explore ancient murals, visit meditation caves above the complex, admire the golden-topped mud structures, and witness the colourful Chakhar Festival performances.
5. Nako Lake: Admire the calm waters surrounded by willow trees, visit the nearby monasteries and Padmasambhava caves apart from enjoying boating in summer or ice skating in winter.
1. Visit Dhankar Monastery: See ancient Thangka paintings, Vairochana Buddha statue, and centuries-old scriptures apart from witnessing monks in prayer, and trekking to the peaceful Dhankar Lake.
2. Witness the Gue Mummy Stupa: You can view the 500-year-old naturally preserved mummy in a meditative pose, explore Giu Village’s spiritual legacy, and uncover legends of the monk’s mystical protective powers.
3.Explore Gue Village: See India’s only naturally preserved mummy in a glass shrine, trek through Himalayan trails near the village other than spotting wildlife like Snow Leopards, Nilgai, and Jackals.
4. Visit Mud Village: You can trek into the remote Mud Village, explore Pin Valley National Park for snow leopards and Himalayan wolves besides visiting a hilltop gompa.
5. Stop by the Sakya Tangyud Monastery: Visit one of India’s highest monasteries in Komik, admire its fortress-like Tibetan architecture, view ancient murals, and attend the colourful Cham Dance festival.
This was my first experience with Thrillophilia, and it was truly amazing. The accommodation was comfortable, and thrillophilia team was very supportive and helpful throughout the trip. Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to traveling with Thrillophilia again in the future.
We have recently completed of 9N/8D Full circuit tour of Spiti Valley. We started our journey from Delhi to Shimla on bus and then our guide (Mr. Parikshit Kanwar) recieved us from the drop point and we started our journey for Spiti Valley on our Traveller. Our route was Delhi-Shimla-Chitkul-Nako-Tabo-Kaza-Chadrataal-Sissu-Manali-Delhi..... All the stays were very good except for the stay at Kaza (Piti Jalsa Heritage). The food was also decent elsewhere. At Chitkul and Sissu we were given tents to stay, but the tents at Sissu we decent but at Chitkul (Nargu Camps) were very good and the food was also nice. Our guide and the driver were except... Read More

Spiti bike trip khup adventurous hota, pushes you to the limit! Mountain roads were genuinely challenging but scenery was breathtaking at every single curve. Ekdum remote feeling throughout which was exactly the point of this trip. Changla group of bikers we traveled with. Only wish the trip was two days longer. Will definitely plan Ladakh next time!
Our Spiti road trip was a wild ride! The transition from the greenery of Kinnaur to the desert landscape of Spiti was amazing. We traveled from Pune and appreciated how Thrillophilia managed the stay in Kaza despite the remote location. Don't miss the Hikkim post office—it is a nostalgic and beautiful experience for everyone who visits.
The camping experience near Chandratal was intense due to the cold, but Thrillophilia provided good quality gear. The reflection of the stars in the lake is a sight to behold. A truly rugged and authentic Himalayan experience that I will never forget. The entire journey was filled with beauty and the group was very supportive. It was an epic adventure through the mountains.
The stark beauty of the Spiti landscape is truly mesmerizing. Every single turn on the road offers a new, stunning view of the mountains. The local monasteries are centers of deep peace and history. It's a perfect destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. Thrillophilia’s itinerary covered all the best spots in the valley perfectly.
Experience ekdam bhari hota! The journey from Pune was long, but Spiti’s beauty is unmatched. We loved the Chandratal camping organized by Thrillophilia. The food was hot and fresh even at that staggering altitude. It was a perfect escape into the mountains away from the city noise. I would recommend this trip to all my friends!
Coming from Pune, we are used to hills, but Spiti is on another level entirely. The vast, barren landscapes of the Pin Valley were hauntingly beautiful. Thrillophilia organized the transport really well, and our driver was very safe on those narrow mountain paths. Every turn revealed a view more spectacular than the last. I loved every minute.
The heights in Spiti are no joke. Coming from Pune, we took a full day to adjust in Kaza. Thrillophilia’s choice of homestays was excellent—very authentic and filled with warm hospitality. The view of the Himalayas from Langza is something I will never forget. It was like living inside a beautiful, high-altitude postcard for a week.
Vikas was a wonderful guide throughout the journey, more of a friend from whom I learned a great deal. This journey is far from over. Thank you, Thrillophilia, for organizing this so well and for including such kind local people; I never felt like a stranger.
I had an amazing experience altogether. All thanks to Lucky bhai. Our trip was fantastic. He was not only professional but also incredibly kind, and accommodating and really fun to be around, he was making sure everyone was comfortable and at ease. His knowledge of the area, experience and fearless and stressfree attitude made the journey smooth and enjoyable. I cannot emphasise enough on how much I recommend travelling with Lucky! He is amazing and tbh I would prefer going on a trip with thrillophilia to the north only if Lucky bhai is there
