Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can we go to Spiti by normal car? A high-ground clearance vehicle is recommended for Spiti as the roads are rough, especially on the Manali route. While some travellers take small cars via the Shimla route, it’s not ideal due to uneven terrain, river crossings, and landslide-prone areas. Hiring an SUV or a 4x4 vehicle is the safest option.
2. Do we need oxygen in Spiti? Spiti Valley is a high-altitude region, with elevations over 12,000 feet, where oxygen levels are lower. Most travellers acclimatize naturally, but those prone to altitude sickness should take necessary precautions. Make sure to stay hydrated, ascend gradually, and carry doctor-prescribed medication. Portable oxygen cylinders are available in Kaza for emergencies but are not usually needed for a short visit.

Spiti was one the best destinations in India if you are looking for top experiences. The landscape is unlike anything in India, barren, vast and silently spectacular. Thrillophilia pre-trip guidance was thorough. Team reachable throughout. The monks at Tabo monastery were welcoming and spoke to us for an hour. Worth every kilometre of rough road.

Our Spiti journey from Surat was handled smoothly by the Thrillophilia team. The vehicle was great for the rough terrain. Visiting the monasteries provided much-needed peace and perspective. Langza village is definitely the most beautiful spot in the whole valley. The coordination was excellent, and we never felt lost or confused despite the remote nature of the region.
Thrillophilia’s Spiti tour is a perfect blend of adventure and local culture. The visits to the ancient monasteries were very peaceful and grounding. The camping at Chandratal Lake was easily the best experience of the whole trip. A must-do for every traveler who wants to see the raw beauty of the Himalayas. The planning and execution were both top-notch.

Would love to go with Thrillophilla again.
Only one thing I didn’t like is the selection of camps/tent as I could see many other good options available nearby locations(chitkul, sissu)
