Spiti Valley Holiday Packages from Surat

Spiti Valley is a dream destination for travellers from Surat looking for a Himalayan adventure. Leaving behind Surat’s humid coastal climate, a trip to Spiti takes you into a high-altitude cold desert with dramatic landscapes and centuries-old monasteries. Here, roads wind through rugged mountain passes, villages sit perched above 14,000 ft, and the weather remains cool even in summer

Getting to Spiti from Surat requires around 9-14 days through a combination of air/rail and road travel. You need to first take a flight or train to Delhi or Chandigarh, followed by a road journey. From Delhi/Chandigarh, travellers can choose between two routes-
1. via Shimla to Spiti, which is open all year
2. via Manali to Spiti, which is open from June to October.

Some Off-Beat Places in Spiti Valley That Are Worth Exploring:

Here is the list of some offbeat places to visit in Spiti:
1. Dhankar Lake:
A serene high-altitude lake above Dhankar Monastery, perfect for a short, rewarding hike.
2. Kungri Monastery: A 14th-century monastery showcasing vibrant silk paintings and old Buddhist scriptures.
3. Mane Village: A peaceful hamlet divided into Upper and Lower Mane, ideal for authentic homestays and scenic views.
4. Hikkim: Home to the world’s highest post office.
5. Langza: A fossil-rich village with a towering Buddha statue.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can we go to Spiti by normal car?
A high-ground clearance vehicle is recommended for Spiti as the roads are rough, especially on the Manali route. While some travellers take small cars via the Shimla route, it’s not ideal due to uneven terrain, river crossings, and landslide-prone areas. Hiring an SUV or a 4x4 vehicle is the safest option.

2. Do we need oxygen in Spiti?
Spiti Valley is a high-altitude region, with elevations over 12,000 feet, where oxygen levels are lower. Most travellers acclimatize naturally, but those prone to altitude sickness should take necessary precautions. Make sure to stay hydrated, ascend gradually, and carry doctor-prescribed medication. Portable oxygen cylinders are available in Kaza for emergencies but are not usually needed for a short visit.

5. How many days are required for Spiti Valley from Surat?
A trip from Surat to Spiti requires at least 9-14 days. Travel to Delhi/Chandigarh takes 1-2 days, followed by a 7-12 day itinerary covering Spiti Valley’s must-visit attractions. Spiti Revisited - This Time with My Favorite Person & Thrillophilia 💙 Although I had visited Spiti once before solo, this time I wanted a hassle-free and well-organized experience, especially because I was finally returning to my favorite place with my favorite person. So, my boyfriend and I started looking for group travel options and came across Thrillophilia’s 8 Days Spiti Group Tour (Delhi to Delhi). Booking it was one of the best decisions we made! 🗺️ Change in Plans? Even Better! While Chandratal was originally part of our itinerary, unpredictable weather led to its cancellation. At first, we were disappointed, but Thrillophilia did... Read More

A dream come true in the dreamland of Spiti. “Spiti” the middle land bared herself in front of us in her myriad colours, towering needle-pointed peaks, waterfalls cascading down the rocky walls, little patches of green surrounded by the wilderness of barrenness, roads cutting across avalanches and glaciers peeking through snow-covered peaks, yaks, sheep and horses grazing the grasslands around Chandratal; Spiti looked like the brushstrokes of a painter. Thrillophillia executed this adventure trip to perfection, leaving no scope for complaint. A heartfelt thanks to our Tour Guide, Ms Neetima, and our pilot, Mr. Rakesh, with his extraordinary ... Our Spiti journey from Surat was handled smoothly by the Thrillophilia team. The vehicle was great for the rough terrain. Visiting the monasteries provided much-needed peace and perspective. Langza village is definitely the most beautiful spot in the whole valley. The coordination was excellent, and we never felt lost or confused despite the remote nature of the region.

Thrillophilia’s Spiti tour is a perfect blend of adventure and local culture. The visits to the ancient monasteries were very peaceful and grounding. The camping at Chandratal Lake was easily the best experience of the whole trip. A must-do for every traveler who wants to see the raw beauty of the Himalayas. The planning and execution were both top-notch.

I like this trip very much.  Bhupesh was helpful each time. Guide Ram was also very nice Perosn and knowledgeable. Would love to go with Thrillophilla again. Only one thing I didn’t like is the selection of camps/tent  as I could see many other good options available nearby locations(chitkul, sissu)
