How to Reach Spiti Valley from Chandigarh?
1. By Road
The road journey to Spiti Valley from Chandigarh can be done through two main routes: via Shimla or via Manali. The Shimla route is around 420 kilometres and stays open all year. It passes through Narkanda, Rampur, Kalpa, and Tabo before reaching Kaza. This route is better if you want a gradual climb and fewer chances of altitude sickness. It takes 2 days with an overnight halt to reach Spiti Valley.
The Manali road, on the other hand, is shorter, only 200 km from Manali to Kaza, but it is only open from June to October. To go to Kaza from Manali, you will have to cross Rohtang Pass and Kunzum Pass. It takes about 8 to 12 hours to get there. Both routes offer private taxis, shared cabs, and HRTC buses.
Best Time to Visit Spiti Valley
1. Spring (Late May to June)
Roads from Manali and Shimla usually reopen. The weather stays pleasant between 15 to 20°C.
2. Summer (July to August)
The valley looks fresh and green during this time, with daytime temperatures between 15 to 25°C. Just keep in mind, the roads leading in can sometimes get blocked by rain-triggered landslides.
3. Autumn (September to Mid-October)
Clear skies and minimal rainfall make this an ideal time. The temperature drops to between 10°C and 20°C. Excellent for cultural excursions and photography.
4. Winter (Late October to December)
Cold sets in quickly. Temperatures can drop below -10°C. The Manali route may close unexpectedly, and snow begins at higher passes.

This was my first experience with Thrillophilia, and it was truly amazing. The accommodation was comfortable, and thrillophilia team was very supportive and helpful throughout the trip. Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to traveling with Thrillophilia again in the future.
We have recently completed of 9N/8D Full circuit tour of Spiti Valley. We started our journey from Delhi to Shimla on bus and then our guide (Mr. Parikshit Kanwar) recieved us from the drop point and we started our journey for Spiti Valley on our Traveller. Our route was Delhi-Shimla-Chitkul-Nako-Tabo-Kaza-Chadrataal-Sissu-Manali-Delhi..... All the stays were very good except for the stay at Kaza (Piti Jalsa Heritage). The food was also decent elsewhere. At Chitkul and Sissu we were given tents to stay, but the tents at Sissu we decent but at Chitkul (Nargu Camps) were very good and the food was also nice. Our guide and the driver were except... Read More

My experience was great. The trip guide and trip coordinator were very knowledgeable, helpful and easy to approach. Had a great time with them. Giving 4 stars because our iternery was changed just 3-4 days before the trip, excluding Chandrataal lake , Rohtang Tunnel and Manali, due to the condition of the roads. It was a safety measure I understand but they could have informed this earlier, to be more transparent. Anyways, the alternative iternery was good and we enjoyed as a group, made new friends in the trip, so the journey was awesome. I would like to appreciate the planning team that made our group, all people were around my age and henc... Read More

1. Spiti is beautiful. The whole journey is a treat to watch.
2. Rahul, Guest Experience Officer, is there to help you out for every query and he lived up to his words.
3. Nitima, Guide for the trip, is meticulous and punctual with time that led us to complete each destination. She took care of our lunch at difficult terrains where her active participation led us to get it in time. Though, she needs to be more extroverted in nature so that she mingles with the group easily.
4. Birendra, driver did his job brilliantly. He was cooperative. he has good sense of humour and may be given more opportunity to interact with the group.

Overall good experience except for the day when holi was celebrated. We were taken to chitkul for lunch instead of celebrating holi in Sangla. But appreciate that team let us celebrate it later in the day
