Spiti is not a trip. It is an experience that recalibrates your relationship with the ordinary. Thrillophilia had arranged detailed pre-trip notes covering altitude, medication and what to pack. Our driver Dorje had fifteen years on these routes and his calm confidence on sections where the mountain dropped thousands of feet on one side kept us relaxed. Key Monastery perched on that cliff face at sunrise. The world's highest post office at Hikkim. The homestay in Komic where the family fed us thukpa and sat talking about life at 4500 metres.

Our journey from Lucknow was long, but Spiti made up for it with its rugged charm. The stargazing in Langza was like something out of a movie. Thrillophilia’s stays were clean and the food was simple but very filling. The high-altitude air is thin, but the hospitality of the local people in Kaza is incredibly heartwarming and generous.

The drive through the Spiti Valley is like watching a live documentary. Thrillophilia’s team was very helpful and the driver was a total pro. The homestays were very authentic and gave us a glimpse into the local lifestyle. The views of the barren mountains are hauntingly beautiful and surreal. Escaping the Lucknow humidity for the Spiti cold was exactly what I needed. The road trip was perfectly planned by Thrillophilia. We loved the quiet moments at the Key Monastery. The monasteries in Spiti have such a calming and beautiful vibe. Key Monastery was my personal favorite—the history there is absolutely fascinating. The mountain drives are intense, so make sure you’re prepared for long hours on the road. The landscape is basically like being on a different planet! Thrillophilia ensured that we were comfortable and safe throughout the entire journey.
