The journey began with a scenic drive from Shimla towards Sangla, where the familiar Himalayan landscape slowly transformed into something even more dramatic. The Baspa River flowed alongside the roads, pine forests covered the surrounding slopes, and every turn opened up wider mountain views. A stop at the famous Hindustan Ka Aakhri Dhaba added another memorable experience before they reached the peaceful village of Sangla.

The following day introduced an entirely different side of the journey. As they travelled deeper into the mountains, they crossed the remarkable Khab Bridge, where the Spiti and Sutlej rivers meet before continuing towards the beautiful village of Nako. Travelling towards Kaza, they stopped at the fascinating Gue Monastery, home to the famous naturally preserved 500-year-old mummy, before continuing to Tabo Monastery. Often called the "Ajanta of the Himalayas," its centuries-old murals, prayer halls, and peaceful surroundings offered a glimpse into one of the oldest centres of Buddhist culture in the region.

The following day brought several of Spiti's most iconic experiences together.

At Key Monastery, they admired spectacular views stretching across the valley while exploring one of the oldest monasteries in the Himalayas. The drive continued towards Hikkim, home to the world's highest post office, where sending a postcard became a souvenir unlike any other. In nearby Komik, one of the highest villages in Asia, they experienced local life surrounded by snow-covered mountains before crossing the impressive Chicham Bridge suspended high above a dramatic gorge.

Every stop offered a different perspective of Spiti's unique culture while creating countless opportunities to simply pause and appreciate the surroundings.

The drive towards Kalpa beautifully captured that transition. Leaving behind Spiti's rugged terrain, the scenery gradually softened into the greener landscapes of Kinnaur. A stop at the thousand-year-old Dhankar Monastery added another remarkable memory before apple orchards and panoramic views of the Kinnaur Kailash range welcomed them into Kalpa.
