Know Before You Go

  • Travelers are advised to carry a copy of any relevant medical certificates (if applicable) for reference during the trip, especially if they have pre-existing medical conditions.
  • Power outages are common in Spiti, so carry power banks, extra batteries, and chargers, as there may not be places to charge your devices.
  • Be prepared for quick weather changes, with temperatures ranging from warm days to freezing nights. Pack layered clothing, including thermal wear, gloves, and a windproof jacket.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty, as the altitude can make you unaware of dehydration.
  • Spiti Valley is at high altitudes (over 10,000 ft.), so it’s important to acclimatize to avoid altitude sickness.
  • BSNL and Jio networks work in some areas, but connectivity can be limited or nonexistent in remote spots.
  • Do not litter any destination.
  • Images are used for representation purposes only.
  • Local water is sourced from glaciers and springs, and the region faces water shortages due to climate change. Be mindful of water conservation.
  • ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN cards will not be considered as valid address proof.
  • Dress modestly when visiting monasteries or interacting with locals, covering shoulders and knees.
  • Always ask permission before taking photos of locals, especially monks or residents, to respect their privacy.
  • Roads in remote areas like Spiti and Kinnaur can be rough and landslide-prone. Be prepared for long travel times.
  • ATMs are scarce beyond Manali. Carry enough cash, especially when traveling to remote areas.
  • Keep a list of emergency numbers, including local police, hospitals, and rescue services, as help may take time to arrive.
