    Constructed in the 17th century by King Sengge Namgyal, the Royal Leh Palace is a nine-storey tall structure.     The hills display a gravity-defying phenomenon and can pull the vehicle, without their engine running, on the steep hill, and hence, it is also known as the ‘Gravity Hill.’ Because of this phenomenon, all the helicopters and aeroplanes have a strict instructions to avoid the magnetic zone on the hill.

    Khardung La is the highest motorable road in the world, which is managed by the Border Road Organization and located at an altitude of 18,380 ft. While travelling from Leh to Nubra Valley, you pass through Khardung La and is about 40 km far from Leh. 

    Not everyone can visit the Nubra valley and the Khardung La pass as it requires a special permit. Commissioned in the year 1973, the Khardung La pass experiences extremely cold winters with the temperature reaching up to -40 degrees celsius and completely covered with snow.
