  • Daily breakfast and selected meals as per the itinerary
  • Private or shared transfers between destinations
  • Sightseeing tours, as mentioned in the Udaipur trip package from Delhi

  • Complete desert camping experience with bonfire, evening tea, snacks, and dinner at camp.
  • Assistance with itinerary customisation and activity bookings

Who Are These Udaipur Trips From Delhi Best For?

Udaipur packages from Delhi are one of the closest heritage getaway destinations for Delhi travellers, reachable in just 75 minutes by direct flight. The right trip comes with choosing the right package and balancing your Delhi to Udaipur trip budget with your itinerary.

Mitesh Angane, one of our verified travellers who booked the Luxury Rajasthan, Smart Price – Full Circuit package, shared in August 2024 that "Our Rajasthan trip was awesome and planned very smoothly by the team at Thrillophilia. Our cab driver, Mr Roopram Meena, was a very excellent driver and very knowledgeable as well. I would like Team Thrillophilia to keep such an excellent person at work; he made us feel at home and should be rewarded for it. Finally, thanks for this wonderful trip organised by you guys."

  • Short Break Travellers - For Delhi professionals looking for a short trip to Udaipur, a 3-day Udaipur tour package works well. Departing on a Friday night and returning on Sunday, you can book heritage properties with a lakeside view to maximise your relaxation on weekends.
  • Couples – Udaipur, often called the City of Lakes, is a popular destination for Udaipur honeymoon packages. The city offers a romantic environment with scenic boat rides and rooftop dining. A slow-paced itinerary works best for couples, focused on experience rather than ticking off a list of sights.
  • Families – Udaipur's heritage, lakes, and forts offer plenty to explore as a family. An evening at Bagore Ki Haveli is more recommended to include in a Udaipur tour package for a family than a fort visit, as they can be tiring for young children.
  • Luxury Travellers – For those who prioritise comfort and accommodation over sightseeing, guests prefer to stay at properties like the Kaner Bagh A Heritage Boutique Hotel. The Delhi to Udaipur itinerary is kept light so they can fully enjoy the experience of the property itself during the Udaipur luxury tour.

How to Reach Udaipur from Delhi

From Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, to Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur. Daily direct flights operate on this route with a travel time of 1.5 to 2 hours. IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet operate more frequently on this route. IndiGo (6E 6376, 6228), Air India (AI 1737, 1779) & SpiceJet (SG 9045).

Flights, Trains and Road Access From Delhi

  • Flights from Delhi – A Delhi to Udaipur holiday package typically ranges from INR 5,000 to INR 11,000. Booking at least a month in advance is recommended. Before booking, check fares directly on the airline's official website for the best fares.
  • Train options from Delhi – The Mewar Express and Chetak Express are the most popular. Check the IRCTC official website for fares and availability.
  • Sleeper costs – INR 420 to INR 550 per person
  • 3AC Costs - INR 1,100 to INR 1,500
  • 1AC Costs - INR 2,500 to INR 2,800
  • Bus services – AC sleeper buses departing from ISBT or Dhaula Kuan cost INR 800 to INR 2,500 per person one-way.

Best Time for an Udaipur Trip from Delhi

The best time to plan a Udaipur trip from Delhi and other destinations of a Rajasthan tour package is between October and March. During these winter months, daytime temperatures hover comfortably between 10° C and 28° C. This ideal climate makes it perfect for exploring local heritage and enjoying scenic boat rides.

Sushmita Mukherjee, one of our verified travellers from Nagpur who booked the Rajasthan Getaway | FREE Fateh Sagar Lake Visit package, shared in March 2026 that “Coming from Nagpur, the dry heat of Rajasthan was a change, but the views from the Amber Fort made us forget everything. The winding paths leading up to the fort are quite an experience in themselves. Thrillophilia managed our itinerary perfectly, ensuring we saw the best of Jaipur.”

Here is a quick seasonal breakdown to help you plan your trip:

1. Winter (October to March) – Peak Season

  • Vibe: Clear, breezy days and cool evenings.
  • Perfect For: Sightseeing at the City Palace and taking boat cruises on Lake Pichola.
  • Events: This is the time for cultural events, vibrant bazaars, and the lively Shilpgram Crafts Fair.

2. Monsoon (July to September) – Best for Nature Lovers

  • Vibe: Lush green landscapes, misty hills, and overflowing lakes.
  • Perfect for: Photography and romantic getaways.
  • Tips: It's the off-season, which means you can often score great deals on premium lakeside hotels.

3. Summer (April to June) – Budget-Friendly (But Hot)

  • Vibe: Dry and hot, with temperatures often exceeding 40°C.
  • Perfect For: Travellers seeking cheaper stays and a crowd-free experience.
  • Tips: Sightseeing is best done early in the morning or late in the evening. Plan your afternoons around Udaipur's best cafes or palace pools.

Places to Visit on an Udaipur Trip from Delhi

There are several places to visit in Udaipur that offer a different taste of experience, from royal palaces to shimmering lakes and living heritage ghats, making every Udaipur trip from Delhi a journey through the many layers of Mewar history and culture.

1. City Palace Udaipur

The City Palace Udaipur was built in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II on the eastern edge of Lake Pichola and expanded over 400 years by successive Mewar rulers. The Royal Museum inside takes you through courtyards like Mor Chowk, private chambers, and viewing galleries that look out across the lake toward the Aravalli Hills.

As per Thrillophilia’s customer data and reviews, it's better to arrive at 9:30 am when the palace opens to get ahead of the crowds and the morning heat. Set aside 2 to 3 hours for a proper visit.

2. Lake Pichola

A boat ride on Lake Pichola is the single most important experience in any Udaipur trip package from Delhi. The best time is during sunset, usually between 5 pm and 6 pm, when the light softens and the facade of the City Palace, Udaipur, begins to glow.

Shared sunset boat rides cost around INR 800 per person, while private boats range from INR 3,000 to INR 5,000 per hour, with higher rates during the peak sunset slot. A standard boat ride takes about one hour, while adding a stop at Jag Mandir extends the experience to around 1.5 hours.

3. Saheliyon-ki-Bari

Built in the early 18th century by Maharana Sangram Singh, Saheliyon-ki-Bari was designed as a retreat for the queen and her 48 companions. Its most remarkable feature is the gravity-and-pressure-fed fountain system, with marble elephant fountains in the central pool and 48 fine jets arranged in a grid.

Thrillophilia’s on-ground team recommends visiting between 8 am and 9 am before group tours arrive. Allow 45 to 60 minutes for the garden and small on-site museum.

4. Bagore-ki-Haveli: Dharohar Show and Folk Dance

Located on Gangaur Ghat facing Lake Pichola, Bagore-ki-Haveli is a cultural stop often included in a Delhi to Udaipur holiday package. The haveli has over 100 rooms with displays of royal costumes, jewellery, and domestic objects. The Queen's Chamber stands out for its detailed glasswork. The real highlight is the Dharohar cultural show, which runs from 7 pm to 8 pm in the inner courtyard.

Arrive by 6:30 pm for good seating. The programme features Ghoomar and Kalbeliya folk dances along with traditional puppet performances. Note that cars cannot reach the entrance through the narrow lanes near Jagdish Chowk; walk or take an auto for the last stretch.

5. Kumbhalgarh Fort

Kumbhalgarh Fort is approximately 3 hours from Udaipur via winding roads through the Aravalli Hills and is one of the most rewarding day excursions to include in an Udaipur trip package from Delhi. Its walls stretch over 36 kilometres, often promoted as the world's second-longest continuous fortification wall after the Great Wall of China.

The view from Badal Mahal at the top takes in rolling Aravalli ridgelines in every direction. A combined Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur Jain Temple circuit in a single day is possible with an early departure; the full circuit takes 10 to 12 hours.

Things to do on a Udaipur Trip

Here are the top things to do in Udaipur, recommended by Thrillophilia's destination experts with over a decade of experience after curating an itinerary for more than 11,000 satisfied travellers.

1. Morning Walk at Fateh Sagar Lake

Start your morning at Fateh Sagar Lake around sunrise, when locals come for walks, cycling, and roadside chai. The lake was built in 1678 by Maharana Jai Singh, and its promenade is one of the most unhurried stretches in the entire city, a place you will not find near the Old City at that hour.

2. Explore Jagdish Chowk and the Old City Lanes

Wander and explore Jagdish Chowk rather than following a fixed route, and have an experience that adds a local touch to an Udaipur trip package from Delhi. The temple was built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Walk past its stone elephants, climb up to terrace cafes in the lanes behind it, and explore viewpoints that most visitors miss entirely.

3. Dharohar Folk Dance Show at Bagore-ki-Haveli

Attend the Dharohar Folk Dance Show at Bagore-ki-Haveli at 7 pm, a cultural highlight you can often find in a well-designed Udaipur tour package from Delhi. The haveli sits on Gangaur Ghat facing Lake Pichola and has over 138 rooms showcasing royal costumes and art. Arrive by 6:30 pm for good seating and watch captivating Ghoomar and Kalbeliya performances in the inner courtyard.

4. Sunset Views from Ambrai Ghat

Watching the sunset from Ambrai Ghat is a peaceful experience worth including in any Udaipur trip from Delhi. Standing opposite the City Palace with Lake Pichola between you and the palace walls, the light transition between 5 pm and 5:30 pm is quieter and more personal than any crowded viewpoint or group boat.

5. Ropeway Ride to Karni Mata Temple

Take the ropeway at Karni Mata Temple for aerial views of Lake Pichola, Fateh Sagar Lake, and the City Palace complex all at once. The ride was built in 2008 and gives a perspective of Udaipur that no street-level sightseeing trip can replicate.

Most Booked Itineraries for an Udaipur Trip from Delhi

These three itineraries for an Udaipur tour package from Delhi reflect what travellers from Delhi most consistently choose. Each itinerary is designed around comfortable travel, popular sightseeing attractions, and a balanced pace, making it ideal for couples, families, and leisure travellers.

Arnab Dan, one of our verified travellers who booked the Luxury Rajasthan, Smart Price – Full Circuit package, shared in December 2025 that "the itinerary was well planned and the places covered were very good. Hotels were satisfactory overall. The desert experience at KK Resort and Camp was the highlight, with exceptional hospitality from Usman Bhai.”

We were a group of 15 people two big Gujarati families from Vadodara and the trip was brilliantly organised by Thrillophilia from start to finish. We covered Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur. Amber Fort in Jaipur was the highlight, the mirror hall, the elephant stables, the view of the city from the top. Our guide explained the history so well that even the children were listening carefully. Jodhpur blue lanes were stunning. Even people in our group who normally do not bother with photography were clicking pictures everywhere. Mehrangarh Fort from the top gave an incredible view of the blue city below. We booked the Rajasthan package for a family of five including elderly parents. The team was very patient in customising the itinerary keeping the senior citizens in mind. Early morning desert safari in Jaisalmer was a thoughtful suggestion by our coordinator since April afternoons are very hot. One small issue with check-in timing at the hotel in Udaipur but it got resolved quickly. Overall a comfortable trip.

However, if you have more time, it serves as the perfect anchor for a longer Rajasthan extension combined with nearby Jodhpur or Kumbhalgarh. Choosing a short weekend getaway gives you a focused, romantic lakeside retreat, while a longer extension unlocks the deeper royal history of the region.

Which hotel area is best for a first Udaipur trip from Delhi?

For a first trip from Delhi, the Lake Pichola area (especially Lal Ghat or Hanuman Ghat) is the best place to stay in Udaipur. This central location places you within walking distance of iconic attractions like the City Palace and Jagdish Temple, while offering stunning, postcard-perfect lakeside views. Staying here maximises your limited travel time and provides easy access to the city's finest rooftop restaurants and vibrant local markets.

When is the best time to plan a Udaipur trip from Delhi?

The best time to visit Udaipur from Delhi is during the winter season, from October to March, when the weather is pleasantly cool and perfect for outdoor sightseeing. During these months, temperatures range from a comfortable 11°C to 30°C, making it ideal for boat rides on Lake Pichola and exploring the massive forts. Monsoon season, from July to September, is also a highly recommended alternative as the lakes refill and the surrounding Aravalli hills turn into a lush, scenic green.

Is Udaipur good for a couple's trip from Delhi?

Yes, Udaipur is one of the most romantic destinations in India and is perfect for a couple's trip from Delhi. Known as the "City of Lakes", it has stunning heritage architecture, private candlelit dinners overlooking Lake Pichola, and scenic sunset boat cruises that create a deeply intimate atmosphere. The city's relaxed, royal charm offers an ideal escape from Delhi's fast-paced life, making it a top choice for anniversaries, honeymoons, or a quick romantic weekend getaway.

Should travellers add Kumbhalgarh or Ranakpur to a short Udaipur trip from Delhi?

For a short 3-to-4-day Udaipur trip, travellers should generally skip Ranakpur and add only Kumbhalgarh if they want a quick historic excursion. While both are stunning, Kumbhalgarh Fort is closer, takes less time to explore, and features a massive wall that is highly rewarding for short-trip itineraries. If you have less than three days, it is best to skip both locations entirely and focus solely on the core lakeside attractions of Udaipur.

What's the best way to travel from Delhi to Udaipur?

The best and most convenient way to travel from Delhi to Udaipur is by taking a direct flight, which takes just 1 hour 15 minutes and lands you straight into the city. For budget-conscious travellers or those preferring overnight journeys, premium AC trains like the Mewar Express or Chetak Express offer a comfortable 11-to-12-hour sleeper option. While overnight luxury sleeper buses are also available, flights and trains remain the most reliable, time-saving, and stress-free methods for a short trip.

Are 3 days enough for an Udaipur tour package from Delhi?

Yes, 3 days are perfectly enough for a standard Udaipur trip if you stick to the core city highlights. This time frame allows you to comfortably visit top attractions like the City Palace and Saheliyon-ki-Bari and enjoy sunset boat cruises on Lake Pichola.
