How to Reach Kashmir from Bangalore
Direct Flights from Bangalore (BLR) to Srinagar (SXR)
Direct flights are the quickest way you can choose for tour packages from Bangalore to Kashmir. These flights by Indigo and Air India Express take approximately 3 hours 40 minutes when operational. Since they are seasonal and have limited frequency, book at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance. This gets you better fares and your preferred timings.
Connecting Flights via Delhi (DEL) or Mumbai (BOM)
In most cases, one-stop routes via Delhi are the most practical, as you get frequent departures across airlines like Indigo and Air India. The total travel time is around 5.5 to 7 hours, depending on layovers. Mumbai connections are slightly longer due to the detour but work well if you are planning a brief stopover. It is best to fly into Srinagar during morning or early afternoon hours as the airport can sometimes close due to weather and operational reasons in the evening.
Best Time for a Kashmir Tour from Bangalore
For Snow (December – February)
December brings early snowfall and festive demand, with temperatures between -4°C and 7°C, making it ideal for a New Year trip to Kashmir from Bangalore. Travellers looking for the best places to visit in Kashmir in December usually include Gulmarg for skiing, Srinagar for Dal Lake experiences, and Pahalgam for snow-covered landscapes. January is peak winter, with temperatures between -5°C and 5°C and reliable snow in Gulmarg and Pahalgam, perfect for skiing plans. February stays cold at -3°C to 8°C, but clearer skies later in the month help with visibility and photography.
Travelling during peak winter also means occasional road closures due to snowfall. However, in situations like these as well, you will find the best possible solution by Thrillophilia’s team to protect your overall experience. Ananya Hegde from Bangalore, who travelled on Trails of Kashmir | Shikara Rides, Glaciers & Meadows, shared, “Simply Superb! We visited in early Feb during the heavy snowfall. I’ve never seen anything like a frozen Dal Lake… Thrillophilia's itinerary was very flexible because some roads were blocked due to snow. They managed everything without any tension.”
For Tulips and Spring Bloom (March – April)
March marks the shift to spring, with temperatures between 3°C and 14°C and tulip season starting toward the end of the month. April ranges from 7°C to 18°C and brings full bloom across the valley, making it one of the best times for your first visit.
For Green Meadows and Valleys (May – June):
May and June offer stable weather between 11°C and 28°C, making them ideal for family vacations to Kashmir from Bangalore. These months align with school holidays, so expect higher demand for Gulmarg stays and Srinagar houseboats.
Monsoon and Off-Season Months (July – August):
July and August bring light monsoon conditions, with temperatures between 16°C and 30°C and greener landscapes across the valley. Rain is intermittent, but occasional delays and limited access to higher areas can affect your plans, so flexibility helps. Lower hotel tariffs and seasonal offers also make this a favourable time for travellers planning a budget trip to Kashmir.
For Pleasant Weather and Saffron Harvest (September – November):
September marks the start of autumn, with temperatures between 11°C and 24°C and saffron harvesting in Pampore. October ranges from 5°C to 19°C, with golden chinar trees and fewer crowds, making it a well-balanced travel month. November drops to -1°C to 12°C, offering crisp weather and quieter conditions before winter demand begins again.

Pahalgam – Betaab, Aru, Chandanwari Valleys
A trip to Pahalgam often involves a day for valley excursions, including Betaab, Aru, Chandanwari, and Baisaran. The cabs and pony rides have fixed pricing rules based on which valley you visit, so you should know what you want to see before you step in.
Sonamarg – The Meadow of Gold
Sonamarg is great as a long day trip from Srinagar or a short overnight stop, depending on how you plan your Kashmir tour packages from Bangalore. While booking a Sonamarg tour package, you can also include a pony ride to the Thajiwas Glacier, which is open from April to October. Thumba chennagide aitu Kashmir honeymoon package was genuinely beyond what we expected from any Indian destination. The shikara ride at sunrise on Dal Lake was the most romantic moment of our trip, honestly gothilla how peaceful it was at that hour. Our houseboat was beautifully decorated with hand-carved wood interiors and the hosts were so warm and attentive. Gulmarg gondola ride with snow views was breathtaking and we spent more time there than planned. Kannada mathadare ee package haakbeku every couple from Bangalore.
Simply Superb! We visited in early Feb during the heavy snowfall. I’ve never seen anything like a frozen Dal Lake. Our houseboat owner, Bashir uncle, was so sweet, he kept asking "Tohye chhiva varaai?" (Are you fine?) and gave us endless cups of hot Kahwa. Thrillophilia's itinerary was very flexible because some roads were blocked due to snow. They managed everything without any tension. Walking on the frozen lake edges was a "Peak Bengaluru" adventure moment for my Instagram!
Very Peaceful. The silence of the snowfall is something else. We are from bangalore and we are habitual of traffic and noice but in kashmir their is no traffic, no noise, just beauty. Nanri to the team for the help!
Full Meals Trip! In Bangalore, we wait for rain, but in Kashmir, it’s just non-stop snow in January. Thrillophilia arranged a private cottage in Pahalgam which was like something out of a movie. The lunch was heavy, the Rista and Gushtaba were just "next level" taste. Even though it was freezing, the hospitality was very warm. Yella ok, baraf mathra super! (Everything’s fine, but the snow is especially super!). Must visit for every Kannadiga!
The bike trip was perfectly managed by Thrillophilia. Traveling from Bangalore, I really appreciated the backup vehicle and the mechanic with us. We crossed Chang La smoothly without any issues. The Leh team was very proactive with weather updates. Overall, it was a bucket-list trip executed flawlessly.
Totally unbelievable scene! the snow was literally high. Thrillophilia guys were super professional; they gave us a car with snow chains, otherwise, we would have been "off" on those slippery roads. The hotel had a stone-heated room toos. If you’re coming from the bangalore, don't act hero; wear three layers or you'll be finished!
Firstly want to thank Subhajit Mukherjee for planning the itinerary perfectly and helping me out with all queries and advising wherever required and secondly would like to thank the ground support team who was checking again and again with us if everything is fine and thirdly the driver provided was very good who was with us all the time and was very kind.
