Kashmir Holiday Packages from Pune

Reviewed by Thrillophilia Operations Team

Updated as of May 2026

Kashmir tour packages from Pune, starting from INR 11,500 per person, are best planned around flight convenience, season, and route flow rather than only package price. Since most travellers from Pune spend a meaningful travel day reaching the valley, choosing the right journey pattern can improve the holiday more than adding extra destinations. Current travel patterns mainly show one-stop Pune to Srinagar flights, while some travellers also compare Mumbai direct options when timings clearly reduce total travel effort.

For first-time travellers, the most practical Kashmir packages from Pune usually follow the classic Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam circuit. Srinagar works well for lake stays, gardens, and local markets. Gulmarg adds mountain views, Gondola access, and winter snow appeal, while Pahalgam offers a calmer valley stay with river scenery and slower pacing. Sonamarg is better treated as a seasonal add-on rather than a compulsory stop.

Style also matters. Houseboats, city hotels, and mountain resorts each create different experiences. Thrillophilia currently offers multiple Kashmir packages from Pune, with popular 5N/6D and 6N/7D itineraries preferred by couples, families, and first-time travellers.

Kashmir Trip Cost From Pune - Realistic Budget Breakdown

Kashmir tour packages from Pune in 2026 start at highly budget-friendly entry prices, with final cost varying based on duration, season, hotel category, and inclusions.

  • Entry-level Kashmir packages from Pune start from INR 11,500 per person (land only), typically covering short 3N/4D style itineraries with basic inclusions and shared logistics.
  • Most popular 4N/5D and 5N/6D Kashmir packages range between INR 18,000–27,500 per person, offering a balanced mix of Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg stays.
  • Mid-range and family-focused packages generally fall between INR 27,500–40,000 per person, with better hotels, more structured sightseeing, and added experiences like Shikara rides.
  • Premium Kashmir experiences, including luxury stays or curated honeymoon itineraries, can range from INR 80,000+ to INR 1.3 lakh per person, depending on exclusivity and season.
  • Prices fluctuate based on travel month, snowfall demand in Gulmarg, hotel upgrades (houseboat vs resorts), and whether flights are included or booked separately.

What These Kashmir Trips From Pune Are Best for

Not every Kashmir trip package from Pune suits the same traveller, so choosing the right itinerary style matters more than simply choosing the cheapest option. Couples and honeymooners usually do best with a paced Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam route, with better stays and fewer hotel changes. Families often prefer simpler valley circuits with flight-inclusive planning, private transfers, and comfortable hotels.

Summer escape travellers usually choose Kashmir tour packages from Pune between April and June, when the climate contrast to Pune's heat feels strongest. This is also a practical season for gardens, valley drives, and mainstream sightseeing. Snow seekers are best suited to winter Gulmarg-led routes between December and February, but weather can affect road access and schedules.

Travellers flexible with Pune to Mumbai positioning may benefit when direct Mumbai-Srinagar timings improve the overall journey. Long-weekend travellers should keep plans compact with Srinagar and Gulmarg rather than forcing every stop. If your Kashmir trip from Pune is under six nights, keep it built around Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam.

How to Reach Kashmir from Pune - What Travellers Should Know

1. By Air:

Flights are the most practical option for Kashmir packages from Pune. As of 2026, travellers can take one-stop flights from Pune to Srinagar via Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, or Hyderabad. Total travel time is around 5.5–7 hours, depending on layovers. Pune–Mumbai–Srinagar is also a popular route. Srinagar Airport is about 14 km from the city centre and 25–35 minutes from Dal Lake.

2. By Rail:

There are no direct trains to Kashmir. Travellers can reach Jammu Tawi from Pune via Delhi and other junctions, taking around 40+ hours, followed by an 8–10 hour road journey to Srinagar.

3. By Road / Bus:

A road journey via NH48 and NH44 covers over 2,000 km and takes multiple days. It is less preferred but possible, usually combined with air or rail for comfort.

Places to Visit on Kashmir Packages From Pune

Here are some of the best places to visit in Kashmir:

1. Srinagar: Srinagar is the heart of Kashmir and will captivate you with its serene Dal Lake and Mughal Gardens. Here, you can experience vibrant city life alongside the serene beauty of the Jhelum River.

2. Gulmarg: Also known as the Meadow of Flowers, Gulmarg is a beautiful destination on your Kashmir packages from Pune that offers a ski resort experience. In Gulmarg, you can witness breathtaking views of the Nanga Parbat and Mount Apharwat.

3. Betaab Valley: Formerly called Hagan Valley, Betaab Valley gained popularity after the Bollywood hit film "Betaab" was shot here. Nestled amidst coniferous forests, gushing streams, and meadows, it is a serene escape for day picnics and weekend getaways. A trip to Betaab Valley is one of the best things to do in Pahalgam, as it offers breathtaking landscapes, peaceful surroundings, and a perfect spot for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts.

4. Pahalgam: Pahalgam, the Valley of the Shepherds in Kashmir, enchants everyone with its Sheshnag Lake and picturesque pine trees. As one of the top destinations to explore the lakes in Jammu and Kashmir, it offers breathtaking natural beauty. It is a perfect place to indulge in trekking to the Himalayas, zorbing, and adventure parks.

5. Pulwama: Known as the "Rice Bowl of Kashmir," Pulwama boasts saffron fields, apple orchards, and scenic landscapes. It offers opportunities for exciting activities such as trekking, mountaineering, snowboarding, and skiing. The pleasant weather, majestic waterfalls, and lush valleys further enhance Pulwama’s charm, making it a delightful destination. Among the top attractions in Pulwama, Tarsar and Marsar Lakes are a must-visit, offering breathtaking views and a serene escape amidst nature.

Things to Do on a Kashmir Trip From Pune

Here are some of the best things to do in Kashmir:

1. Enjoy a Shikara Ride in Dal Lake: Indulging in a serene Shikara ride on Dal Lake is a highlight of your Kashmir packages from Pune. Surrounded by picturesque landscapes, it allows you to glide on still waters and absorb the verdant views.

As Megha Deshpande from Pune shared after her February 2026 family trip, even with heavy snowfall and slight delays, the experience felt straight out of a movie, especially while sipping hot Kahwa in the cold and exploring Srinagar, making it a truly memorable 5-star getaway.

2. Stay in a Houseboat: You can enjoy a unique stay in a houseboat on Dal Lake in Srinagar. It provides a complete holiday experience by allowing you to relish breathtaking views of ice-capped mountains and the tranquil Kashmir ambience.

3. Go Skiing in Gulmarg: Skiing in Gulmarg is one of the top activities in Gulmarg that lets you pass through the snow-covered peaks and powdery slopes. Ideal for both beginners and professionals, it provides expert training facilities so you can enjoy the activity without any hassle.

4. Try the Local Cuisine of Kashmir: If you are a food lover, you should try the local cuisine of Kashmir. Known for its use of spice, dry fruits, and local produce, you can savour the taste of Kashmiri kahwa tea, Rogan josh, nardoo yakhni, paneer Chaman, Dum aloo, and gushtaba in Kashmir.

5. Trek to Vaishno Devi Temple: You can even trek to Vaishno Devi Temple to witness the shrine inside a cave and immerse yourself in the spiritual and natural beauty.

Which Kashmir Route Shapes Work Best From Pune

Choosing the right route shape matters more than adding extra stops, especially when Kashmir tour packages from Pune already involve a full travel day. For a shorter 4N/5D trip, Srinagar plus Gulmarg is usually the strongest option. It keeps road travel lower while covering lake views, gardens, mountain scenery, and Gondola access.

For a balanced 5N/6D holiday, Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam are often the best first-time circuit. It offers a better mix of city, mountain, and valley experiences without feeling rushed.

A 6N/7D trip suits travellers who prefer slower pacing and longer stays at each base. Sonamarg should be treated as a seasonal add-on only. If your Kashmir trip from Pune is under six nights, keep it centred on Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam.

Best Time to Visit Kashmir From Pune

The best time to book Kashmir tour packages from Pune depends on whether you want tulips, cooler summer weather, autumn colours, or snow. March to April is the most popular spring window, known for tulip gardens, fresh valley colour, and pleasant temperatures. This is a strong first-time travel season, but tulip bloom dates are short and can shift slightly each year, so early planning helps.

May to June is the main summer escape period and works well for travellers leaving Pune’s rising heat. It is ideal for family holidays, honeymoon trips, and mainstream sightseeing across Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam.

July to September brings greener landscapes and lighter pricing in some windows. Kashmir does not receive monsoon conditions like Meghalaya, but showers, slower roads, and lower visibility can still affect plans.

October to November is known for autumn shades and calmer routes. It suits couples and scenic travellers. December to February is best for snow-focused Kashmir packages from Pune, especially Gulmarg-led trips. Snowfall, Sonamarg access, and some routes remain weather-dependent.

Common Planning Mistakes Pune Travellers Make

Many travellers booking Kashmir tour packages from Pune focus only on price or number of destinations, but route planning matters more. A common mistake is trying to cover Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg in a short trip, which often feels rushed due to road travel and hotel changes.

Another mistake is ignoring flight timings. Late arrivals or early departures can reduce useful sightseeing time. Choosing the cheapest fare without checking layovers may also create longer travel days.

Some travellers expect guaranteed snowfall or default Gondola access. These depend on the season and the weather. The best Kashmir trip from Pune usually comes from realistic pacing and balanced travel days.

Food, Shopping and Practical Tips

Food and local markets add depth to Kashmir tour packages from Pune. Try Kahwa tea, wazwan dishes, vegetarian options like dum aloo, and fresh bakery snacks in Srinagar. Local bakeries are useful for quick breakfasts and evening bites.

Shopping is strongest in Srinagar for shawls, dry fruits, saffron, papier-mâché items, and walnut wood products. Quality varies, so compare prices and buy carefully from trusted stores.

Carry layered clothing, comfortable shoes, and rain or snow protection depending on the season. Cards work in many places, but some local markets still prefer cash.

For Pune travellers, Kashmir trips work better when the itinerary leaves some breathing room for weather shifts, local movement, and slower valley evenings instead of treating every day like a checklist.

I visited Kashmir with my family from Pune in early Feb. The snowfall was so heavy that our flight was delayed, but Thrillophilia's team was constantly in touch on WhatsApp. Seeing the Drung Frozen Waterfall was like a scene from a movie. It was freezing, but the hot Kahwa kept us going. Srinagar's Polo View market is great for shopping even in the snow. The hospitality of the Kashmiri people is as warm as our Puran Poli. Solid scene hai boss! Being from Pune, I’ve never seen 4 feet of snow. We did the Gondola ride in Gulmarg. Phase 1 was a bit scary because of the wind, but the view was kadak. Thrillophilia managed the logistics well, especially the vehicles needed for the Pahalgam. One star less because the houseboat was a bit too cold at night, even with the electric blankets. But overall, it was a paisa vasool adventure.
