Ferozepur Nallah Overview

Ferozepur Nallah is a mountain stream near Gulmarg that has its origins in the Ferozepur Peak, and it is a prominent attraction to cover while travelling with our Kashmir tour packages. Popularly known as the Shinmahinyu, the stream lies at a distance of almost 5 km from Gulmarg and is very popular among those looking for an ideal spot to pursue fishing and angling. The area is surrounded on all sides by lofty mountains and beautiful pine trees.

This is a mountain stream that originates from the Ferozepur Peak and hence the name. It is popularly referred to as the Shinmahinyu and lies at a distance of about 5 km from the town of Gulmarg. This is among the most popular tourist places in Gulmarg for a quiet and peaceful day of trout fishing and angling. 

The stream is in fact a water source for several rural dwellers in the surrounding areas who also attribute it to a divine pedestal. Some of the locals are of the belief that the place has been blessed by the spirit of the mountains. The stream trickles its way down all the way and confluences with the Bahan river at Waters Meet.

This however, is ideal for trekkers as it lies at a distance of about 50 km from Ferozepur Nallah and can be reached after a trek of about 3 days.
