How to Reach Kashmir from Surat
Kashmir is well-connected by air, rail, and road, making it accessible from every major Indian city. The most convenient option is flying directly to Srinagar, while trains and buses run up to Jammu, followed by a scenic road journey to the valley.
By Flight
Depart from Surat Airport (STV) to Srinagar Airport (SXR), but there are no direct flights, so expect a layover in Delhi or Mumbai.
Total travel time is approximately 5-12 hours, including the flight time and layover time.
Airlines like IndiGo and Air India operate regularly, making this the most reliable and time-efficient option. This makes flying the top pick for a quick Surat to Kashmir trip.
By Train
There's no direct train from Surat to Kashmir, so take a train from Surat to Jammu Tawi, then continue by road to Srinagar (8-10 hours).
Trains like Bandra Terminus-Jammu Tawi Vivek Express and Swaraj Express are currently the running options, taking around 24-30 hours.
From Jammu, taxis to Srinagar cost roughly INR 2,500-4,000 per car. It's economical but long and slightly tiring compared to flying. Many travellers still prefer this route for a more affordable Surat to Kashmir tour package.
By Road
A road trip from Surat to Kashmir (approximately 1,800-2,000 km) takes 30-36 hours and is not recommended due to distance and fatigue.
The route typically follows NH48 (Surat-Delhi), then NH44 (Delhi-Jammu-Srinagar), which is sometimes closed in the winter months.
There are no direct buses to Srinagar, but you can take buses to Delhi, then onward to Jammu, followed by a cab or bus to Srinagar. Most people avoid this route when planning their Kashmir trip from Surat.
Best Time to Visit Kashmir from Surat
Though Kashmir is one of the most alluring destinations in every season, the experience may vary so choosing the right season makes a big difference to your Kashmir tour package from Surat.
April - June (Peak Season)
Pleasant relief from Surat's heat, with temperatures around 12°C to 25°C; enjoy shikara rides, Gulmarg gondola rides, and the April Tulip Festival.
Busiest season with higher prices and crowds, so book flights and stays early. This is when most travellers book a Surat to Kashmir tour package well in advance.
July - September (Moderate Season)
Temperatures range 15°C to 30°C with fewer crowds; ideal for green landscapes, treks like Kashmir Great Lakes, and rafting in Pahalgam.
Occasional rainfall can disrupt travel to Sonamarg and higher areas, so check weather before planning.
October - March (Off-Season)
Quiet season with temperatures dropping from 10°C to Minus 5°C or lower; Gulmarg offers skiing while Srinagar has frozen lake views.
Some routes like Sonamarg may close due to snow, but prices drop and the experience is peaceful and less crowded. This is often the most affordable time to book a Kashmir package from Surat.

Reviews from verified travellers who booked their trips with us
Ladakh trip through Thrillophilia. The acclimatisation day in Leh — I was not convinced we needed it. I was wrong. By Day 2 one person in our group had a headache bad enough that without that rest day the trip would have ended for him there. The Thrillophilia team had sent a detailed altitude note with medicine recommendations before departure. We had brought everything on the list. That preparation showed.
Pangong Lake at 5:30am with no other vehicle in sight. The colour was not what I expected — it shifted from cobalt blue to teal to almost green depending on where the light was coming from. We stayed two hours longer than the plan said.
A beautifully curated tour for adventure lovers. The camps and hotels were chosen well, making the cold weather easy to handle. Special thanks to Thrillophilia and our guide for ensuring a safe and memorable experience throughout the high passes.
Our Ladakh trip from Surat was fantastic and very well organized. The drive from Leh to Nubra via Khardung La was extremely scenic. Thrillophilia handled all permits and environmental fees smoothly. The hotels were comfortable with great heating facilities, making the entire experience enjoyable.
Departing from Surat, we were excited for a mix of fun and relaxation, and the experience truly delivered on both. The Bactrian camel safari in Hunder stood out as a unique highlight, especially for the kids who absolutely loved it. Everything from transport to stays was handled smoothly, giving us a worry-free journey. It was a memorable family trip that we’d gladly suggest to anyone planning Ladakh.
