How to Reach Manali from Surat

1. By Air

Since Manali does not have its own airport, there are no direct flights from Surat to Manali. Kullu-Manali Airport (Bhuntar), which is around 58 km from Manali, is the closest airport. You can fly to Bhuntar after taking a connecting flight from Surat to Delhi or Chandigarh. From Bhuntar, it takes two hours to get to Manali via cab or an HRTC bus.

2. By Rail

Manali is not directly connected to Surat by train. The nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar, about 165 kilometres away, but it has limited connectivity. The more efficient option is to travel from Surat to Chandigarh Railway Station by train. To get to Manali from Chandigarh, you have two options: take a taxi or a Volvo bus. It takes about 10 hours to reach Manali from Chandigarh via road.

We had an absolutely seamless experience from start to finish. Our trip coordinator was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking care of every little detail. The driver was a true professional, he navigated even the world's most dangerous roads with such skill that they didn't look dangerous at all. Such a gem! Our food and stays were excellent; we particularly appreciated the thoughtful additions like bed heaters and the chance to savor authentic local food. Best of all, the itinerary went exactly as planned. We highly recommend this team for an unforgettable trip.

The trip was super good. I had a group trip to ladakh via manali. Firstly, trillophilla got us a thoughful combination of hotels/homestays/camps/cottages. And all of them were of good quality. The driver and local toor companies hired by trillophilla were great . The travel vehicle was in great condition. My only complain was volvo. They could have got us a better volvo from dehli to manali. Rest, well planned itenary, good quality food, nice places to stay, great travel vehicle and guide. It really helped to make my ladakh trip hassle free and a meomerable one.

Spiti was one the best destinations in India if you are looking for top experiences. The landscape is unlike anything in India, barren, vast and silently spectacular. Thrillophilia pre-trip guidance was thorough. Team reachable throughout. The monks at Tabo monastery were welcoming and spoke to us for an hour. Worth every kilometre of rough road.

Booked: Escape to Ladakh | Group Tour Package
Travelled From: Surat
Ladakh trip through Thrillophilia. The acclimatisation day in Leh — I was not convinced we needed it. I was wrong. By Day 2 one person in our group had a headache bad enough that without that rest day the trip would have ended for him there. The Thrillophilia team had sent a detailed altitude note with medicine recommendations before departure. We had brought everything on the list. That preparation showed. Pangong Lake at 5:30am with no other vehicle in sight. The colour was not what I expected — it shifted from cobalt blue to teal to almost green depending on where the light was coming from. We stayed two hours longer than the plan said.

Why Choose Thrillophilia
