How to Reach

By Air: For your Manali trip from Coimbatore, the fastest and most convenient way to reach is by air. You can take a connecting flight from Coimbatore International Airport (CJB) to Bhuntar Airport (KUU), located near Kullu. There are no direct flights, but airlines like IndiGo, Air India, as well as Alliance Air offer one-stop routes via Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Chandigarh. The total travel time ranges from 13 to 19 hours, depending on the layover. Once you reach Bhuntar Airport, you can hire a cab or take local transport (like the HRTC bus) to Manali. This road journey from Bhuntar to Manali covers about 58 km along NH-3 and generally takes 1 to 2 hours.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Manali depends on the experience you want, as Manali tour packages from Coimbatore are available all year round.

1. Spring (March to April)

The temperatures during this time of year are moderately chilly, ranging from 7°C to 15°C. As the snow melts, this is a good time to go hiking, take nature walks, and see places like Solang Valley as well as Jogni Falls without having to deal with a lot of snow.

2. Summer (May to June)

With temperatures between 15°C and 25°C and clear skies, the weather is pleasant. This is the ideal time of year to visit Jogini Falls, Hidimba Devi Temple, Manu Temple, and Solang Valley. In addition to going to the Doongri Forest Festival in May, you can try paragliding, river rafting, as well as trekking.

3. Autumn (September to November)

With sunny skies and temperatures ranging from 10°C to 18°C, this time of year is ideal for peaceful travel. You can participate in outdoor activities like ziplining and ATV rides, as there is not much tourist traffic.

4. Winter (October to February)

This is the best time for tourists to see snowfall because the temperatures drop to 0°C or lower and it snows most of the time from December onward. For views of the snow, this is the best time to explore the Solang Valley, Gulaba, Marhi, and Rohtang Pass. In addition, you can enjoy snow tubing, snowboarding, skiing, and the Manali Winter Carnival in February.

We had an absolutely seamless experience from start to finish. Our trip coordinator was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking care of every little detail. The driver was a true professional, he navigated even the world's most dangerous roads with such skill that they didn't look dangerous at all. Such a gem! Our food and stays were excellent; we particularly appreciated the thoughtful additions like bed heaters and the chance to savor authentic local food. Best of all, the itinerary went exactly as planned. We highly recommend this team for an unforgettable trip.

Spiti was one the best destinations in India if you are looking for top experiences. The landscape is unlike anything in India, barren, vast and silently spectacular. Thrillophilia pre-trip guidance was thorough. Team reachable throughout. The monks at Tabo monastery were welcoming and spoke to us for an hour. Worth every kilometre of rough road.

Ladakh trip through Thrillophilia. The acclimatisation day in Leh — I was not convinced we needed it. I was wrong. By Day 2 one person in our group had a headache bad enough that without that rest day the trip would have ended for him there. The Thrillophilia team had sent a detailed altitude note with medicine recommendations before departure. We had brought everything on the list. That preparation showed. Pangong Lake at 5:30am with no other vehicle in sight. The colour was not what I expected — it shifted from cobalt blue to teal to almost green depending on where the light was coming from. We stayed two hours longer than the plan said.

Ladakh was always the trip I was saving for the right time. They made the right time happen. Nubra Valley with the sand dunes and the camels against a backdrop of snow mountains is genuinely amazing. Every road was handled brilliantly by our driver. Khardung La in the clouds felt like driving through another planet.

Overland from Kashmir to Ladakh is one of the greatest road journeys you can do in India. Dal Lake in Srinagar to Pangong Tso in Ladakh - the transformation across just a few days is staggering. Sonamarg, Zoji La pass and the Drass valley were all breathtaking in completely different ways. Our driver was experienced and calm on the mountain roads which made a huge difference to the experience. Do this trip at least once - no photograph or description will fully prepare you for what you'll see.

Had a good Spiti trip with Thrillophilia. The journey was smooth and free from any major trouble. The team was supportive throughout and the route covering Key Monastery, Chandratal and Hikkim was well planned. The only thing I felt could be better was the quality of stays at some points, they were basic. But given the remote location it is understandable. The driver was experienced and handled the mountain roads very confidently. Would recommend for anyone looking to do Spiti.
