4 Days 3 Nights Kerala Tour Packages & Itineraries

Reviewed by Thrillophilia Kerala Operations Team

Updated as of July 2026

Located on the southwest Malabar Coast of India, explore your Kerala itinerary of 4 days, ranging between INR 14,680 and INR 28,450. With an extraordinary landscape, the Kerala itineraries of 4 days by Thrillophilia offer you a unique landscape filled with tropical greenery, water bodies like waterfalls, beaches and backwaters, and mist-covered mountains all in one trip.

A Kerala itinerary of 4 days doesn’t include the entire Kerala circuit but some fragments of the destination to make a relaxed and comfortable tour route. With Thrillophilia, customise your itinerary by including either hills and backwaters or wildlife and beach, as per the duration of the package.

With 23+ destination experts, Thrillophilia creates your itinerary, which reflects your travelling style. Ranked with a 4.8 rating and 1,285 reviews, we serve our travellers to their satisfaction.

While travelling for a 4-day trip to Kerala, one can reach Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, or Kozhikode. Moreover, the ideal arrival point one must choose depends on their itinerary and the distance of their first destination and their arrival points. Thrillophilia’s 24*7 on-ground services help you with transportation, on-spot route guidance, private transportation, early-morning breakfast and assistance with any practical difficulties one might face. For us, our focus is not just on making a perfect itinerary but also on providing you with a close-to-perfect trip.

Kerala Itinerary of 4-Day Tour: 2026 Packages & Cost Guide (2026)

  • Price (overall): INR 14,680 to INR 28,450 per person, based on the season, flight fares, and selected itinerary.
  • Land-only price: INR 10,000 to INR 20,000 per person for 4 to 6 days, depending on the duration and luxury level.
  • Duration: 4 days, 3 nights

Inclusions:

Accommodation, a structured itinerary, airfare and transportation, a good breakfast, 24/7 on-the-ground assistance, airport transfers, selected activities and destinations based on the selected package. Vikas Yadav, one of our travellers from Lucknow who booked the Getaway to Wayanad | FREE The Visit to Edakkal Caves package, shared in March 2026 that "We enjoyed the martial arts show a lot; the performers were incredibly skilled, and it was a very thrilling experience. The support group on WhatsApp was active 24/7 and answered all our questions promptly. The hotels were premium and offered great hospitality throughout our stay. The backwater cruise was a very relaxing and unique experience that we highly recommend. A very well-planned trip that delivered on all its promises.”

Note: The pricing and booking rates can be on the higher end because of the rush in the peak season. Moreover, travel prices also increase as per the duration of your Kerala tour package, i.e., if you extend your trip to more than 4 days, the prices will automatically increase.

Book your tickets at least 3 months in advance. For internal bookings like hotels, including the number of nights, route shape, and flight inclusion, Thrillophilia's internal team manages every slot sequentially.

How to Reach Kerala

While planning a 4-day Kerala trip, one can reach Kerala via flight, train or even road. Moreover, the most convenient and time-consuming way to reach Kerala is by flight.

By Air

Direct Flights

Taking a train would be the ideal way to reach Kerala from Delhi for travellers searching for a budget-friendly option or for someone who enjoys a long journey with a scenic view.

  • Duration: 37 to 49 hours
  • Departure: New Delhi Railway Station or Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station
  • Arrival: Ernakulam Junction/Town or Thiruvananthapuram Central

  • Duration: 38 to 44 hours, approximately (approximately 3 to 4 hours including night stoppage)
  • Route: The most efficient highways it passes through are Agra, Gwalior, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and down into Kerala via Salem.
  • Price: Driving a private vehicle can cost you INR 25,000 to INR 35,000. Whereas public buses via Mumbai or Bengaluru cost between INR 3,500 and INR 9,500 one-way

Best Time to Visit Kerala

These packages have become one of the most in-demand packages with the inclusion of the Thekkady tour package and the other parts of Kerala. These packages also include detailed Alleppey experiences, including a houseboat stay for a cosy stay with your loved ones. Keerthi Menon, one of the travellers from Bangalore who booked the Glimpse of Kerala | Waterfalls, Wildlife and Winding Roads package, reviewed in April 2026, said, "Munnar and Thekkady together are Kerala perfected – cool hills, tea gardens, spice estates and the Periyar forest. Watched wild elephants from a boat on Periyar Lake and walked through a cardamom plantation the same afternoon. Absolutely loved the pace of the tour – unhurried, immersive and deeply relaxing throughout.”

You can visit Kerala all year round, as each season offers unique experiences and distinct advantages.

October to February (Best for Sightseeing)

  • Best season for first-time Kerala travellers, with a temperature ranging between 18°C and 29 °C.
  • With cold and dry weather and humidity at its lowest, this season provides the ideal time for houseboats in Alleppey, beach lounging in Kovalam and visiting tea gardens in Munnar.
  • This period also hosts the vibrant Cochin Carnival (December).

March to May (off-beat Season)

  • This season is considered the prime off-beat season with a temperature of 32°C to 36°C.
  • The tourist crowd is much smaller with heavy discounts on luxury resorts and flights. Hill stations like Munnar and Wayanad remain relatively cooler, which makes them a better option for tourists planning a Kerala trip during this season.
  • Thrissur Pooram, celebrated between April and May, is one of India's most spectacular temple festivals to witness as a tourist.

June to September (Best for greenery)

  • This season is distributed with frequent to heavy rainfall with temperatures of 23°C to 29°C.
  • The best time to witness clean, dust-free Kerala, covered with lush green forests, more lively waterfalls and effective Ayurvedic treatment packages, is in this season. Arjun Shetty, one of our travellers from Bangalore who booked the Exotic Kerala | Misty Mountains and Coastal Hues package, reviewed in April 2026, “We had been doing international trips for several years and decided this time to slow down and go deep into Kerala. The Alleppey waterfall had good volume before the monsoon, and the jungle around it was completely alive.
  • Roads of Munnar and Thekkady can be affected by landslides, and beaches like Kovalam and Varkala can face rough beach conditions because of the weather.
  • Onam, which is Kerala's most important cultural festival, is celebrated in this season, which is one of the prime reasons to attract tourists during this season.

Top Places to Visit in Kerala

Here are some of the best places to visit in Kerala:

Alleppey:

Explore the Venice of the East with an extensive network of canals, lagoons and waterways during your Kerala tour package from Delhi. Enjoy the scenery around your houseboat through the blackwater, allowing you to watch the marine life of Alleppey closely. The houseboat ride in Alleppey was a highlight: calm waters, beautiful sunset views, and delicious traditional Kerala food. Thank you for your support and for making this trip so wonderful!”

Munnar:

Surrounded by waterfalls such as Cheeyappara, Attukal, and Valara, known for their pristine beauty, Munnar is a location you can’t miss while planning your Kerala package from Delhi. The weather is just perfect this time of year, chilly enough for jackets but pleasant during the day. Everything was handled professionally, and we never felt like we were being upsold on anything.”

Wayanad:

Book our Kerala tour packages from Delhi to visit Wayanad, a hill district with exotic flora and fauna and cascading waterfalls. It has Asia’s second-largest dam, Banasura Sagar Dam, where you can enjoy boating and trekking.

Sample Kerala 4-Day Itineraries: Most Booked by Our Travellers

These three itineraries reflect what travellers most consistently choose across Thrillophilia's 4-day Kerala packages. Each is built around realistic road transfer times, pre-bookable houseboat and activity slots, and a pace that holds up across the full duration without feeling rushed.

4 Days, 3 Nights: Munnar & Alleppey Classic (Most Booked)

  • Day 1: Arrive at Cochin International Airport (COK). Transfer to Munnar, approximately 3.5 to 4 hours by road through the Western Ghats. The drive itself passes through winding mountain roads lined with tea estates and small waterfalls; do not sleep through it. En route sightseeing at Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls. Check in to your Munnar hillside resort by evening. Early night, as Day 2 is the full Munnar day.
  • Day 2: Full-day Munnar highlights tour. Eravikulam National Park, in the morning, is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and is one of the most scenic protected areas in Kerala. Top Station viewpoint for panoramic Western Ghats views. Mattupetty Dam and the tea plantations around it in the afternoon. Optional Shikara ride on the Mattupetty Lake. Evening back at the resort with time to walk through the local market in Munnar town.
  • Day 3: Munnar to Alleppey. Check out and transfer to Alleppey, approximately 3.5 to 4 hours away. Board your houseboat by noon, a traditional Kettuvallam converted into a floating stay with a bedroom, an attached bathroom, and a sun deck. The afternoon and evening are spent cruising slowly through the backwater canal network, watching village life, paddy fields, coconut groves, and local fishermen from the water. All meals on board are freshly cooked Kerala cuisine. Overnight on the houseboat.
  • Day 4: Disembark from the houseboat by 9 AM. Alleppey sightseeing, Alleppey Beach, Alleppey Lighthouse, and Mullakkal Rajarajeswari Temple. Transfer to Cochin Airport or Railway Station for departure.

4 Days, 3 Nights: Munnar & Thekkady Wildlife Circuit

Best for families with children, wildlife enthusiasts, and travellers who want Kerala's hill and forest experience rather than the backwaters. Covers cool highlands, spice plantations, and the Periyar Tiger Reserve in a four-day arc that stays genuinely unhurried. Starts from INR 14,800 per person.

  • Day 1: Arrive at Cochin International Airport (COK). Transfer to Munnar, approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. Stop at Cheeyappara Waterfalls, a roadside waterfall worth a short stop for photographs and a walk down to the base. Check in to your Munnar hotel by the evening. Dinner at the hotel or a nearby restaurant.
  • Day 2: Full day of Munnar sightseeing. Morning visit to Eravikulam National Park for the Nilgiri Tahr and grassland landscape. Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, the world's highest tea estate, is accessible by jeep, with views that stretch across three districts. Afternoon at the Tata Tea Museum to understand how Munnar's tea industry was built. Echo Point for the natural echo experience and the lake setting. Return to Munnar town by evening for local market browsing and banana chip shopping.
  • Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady, approximately 3 hours. Check in to your jungle-adjacent resort. Afternoon visit to Abraham's Spice Garden, a guided walk through cardamom, pepper, clove, and vanilla plantations that gives you a genuine sense of how Thekkady's economy works. Evening Kathakali dance performances or Kalaripayattu martial arts shows at one of the local cultural centres are both worth attending and are easily bookable at the hotel.
  • Day 4: Early morning Periyar Lake boat safari at 7:30 AM, the most important slot of the Thekkady visit. This timing gives the highest chance of spotting wild elephants, gaurs, and otters on the lake banks before the midday heat pushes wildlife back into the forest. An afternoon at the Kumily local market for spice shopping – cardamom, pepper, homemade chocolates, and local tea are the best buys. Transfer to Cochin Airport or Railway Station for departure.

4 Days, 3 Nights: Wayanad Nature & Caves Escape

Best for travellers who want to get off the well-worn Munnar-Alleppey circuit and experience a different side of Kerala. Wayanad is quieter, greener in the monsoon months, and carries an offbeat character that couples and solo travellers increasingly prefer. Includes a Bangalore connection for travellers from that city. Starts from INR 20,000 per person.

  • Day 1: Arrive at Kozhikode Airport (CCJ) or Bangalore, depending on origin. Transfer to Wayanad, approximately 3.5 hours from Kozhikode or 4 to 5 hours from Bangalore via the Mysore highway. Wayanad sits at around 700 to 2,100 metres above sea level, and the drive up through the Thamarassery Ghat, 13 hairpin bends, is one of the most scenic road approaches in all of Kerala. Check in to your forest resort. Evening walk through the resort property or Kalpetta town.
  • Day 2: Full-day Wayanad exploration. Edakkal Caves in the morning are prehistoric caves with rock carvings dating back over 6,000 years, accessible via a short but steep 20-minute climb. The carvings depict human figures, animals, and symbols from the Stone Age and Bronze Age, and the view from the cave entrance across the Wayanad valley is extraordinary. Afternoon at Banasura Sagar Dam, India's largest earth dam, with a boat ride across the reservoir surrounded by hills. Evening at Pookode Lake for a paddleboat ride on Kerala's only freshwater lake, situated amidst a forest.
  • Day 3: Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary morning safari. The sanctuary is home to elephants, tigers, leopards, spotted deer, and the Nilgiri Langur. Morning slots offer the best wildlife activity. Afternoon visit to Soochipara Falls (also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls), a three-tiered waterfall that allows swimming in the natural pool at the base during calmer water periods. Evening at the resort with an optional bonfire or stargazing session, which Wayanad's low light pollution makes genuinely impressive.
  • Day 4: Morning at leisure. Optional early visit to Chembra Peak base if energy allows – Kerala's highest peak, at 2,100 metres, with a heart-shaped lake visible from the trail. Transfer to Bangalore by road, approximately 4 to 5 hours via the Mysore highway, with a lunch stop in Mysore. Departure from Bangalore.

faqs

Are 4 days enough to visit Kerala?

Four days is only enough for a brief, rushed glimpse of Kerala, as it allows you to cover just one or two close destinations like Kochi, Munnar, or Alappuzha. Because the state's top attractions are geographically spread out and travel times between them are long, you will spend a significant portion of your short trip on the road. To truly experience Kerala's diverse landscape of beaches, hills, wildlife, and backwaters can explore without feeling exhausted; a trip of 7 to 10 days is highly recommended.

Which airport should I book for a 4-day itinerary?

For a short 4-day trip to Kerala, you should book your flights into Cochin International Airport (COK). It is the most centrally located airport in Kerala and offers the fastest road access to prime, close-by attractions like the Munnar hill station and Alappuzha backwaters. Choosing Cochin minimises your transit times, ensuring you spend less of your brief trip on the road and more time sightseeing.

Can I cover Munnar, Thekkady, and Alleppey in 4 days?

No, covering Munnar, Thekkady, and Alleppey in just four days is highly unrealistic and will leave you exhausted. You would spend nearly your entire trip driving through winding hill roads rather than enjoying the destinations, as each location requires a minimum of 4 to 5 hours of travel time from the next. To make the most of your short trip, it is highly recommended to pick just one or two of these spots, such as combining Munnar with Cochin or choosing Alleppey alone for a relaxed getaway.

Is a houseboat stay included in a Kerala itinerary of a 4-day tour?

A houseboat stay can easily be included in a 4-day trip to Kerala if you limit your destinations. Standard short itineraries typically dedicate one full day and night to an Alappuzha (Alleppey) houseboat cruise after a brief stop in Cochin or Munnar. To ensure it fits without rushing your travel, you should explicitly confirm with your tour operator that a 21-hour overnight cruise is locked into the schedule.

What is the best month to book this 4-day trip to Kerala?

The best months to book this 4-day trip to Kerala are December and January, which feature pleasantly cool, dry weather that is perfect for maximising sightseeing. The winter months from October to February offer low humidity and minimal rainfall, ensuring you can seamlessly navigate winding hill roads and enjoy your Alappuzha houseboat cruise without rain disruptions. However, because this is peak tourism season with higher prices, you should book well in advance or consider September as an excellent alternative to see the landscape at its greenest right after the monsoons.
