Best Time to Visit Shimla

Shimla, with its natural beauty, is a year-round destination. However, the best time to visit differs from traveller to traveller, depending on what kind of experience you’re looking for.

1. Summer (March to June)

With temperatures between 15°C and 30°C, summer can easily be called the best time to explore Shimla’s colonial streets. You can also trek in nearby forests or just simply go on picnics at places like Annandale and Chadwick Falls. Events like the Shimla Summer Festival make the hill station even more lively.

2. Monsoon (July to September)

Temperatures range from 12°C to 25°C. While the region gets occasional landslides, overall, Shimla becomes quieter and greener. Booking a Shimla tour package from Pune during this time is great for travellers looking for a peaceful, offbeat escape amidst misty pines and fewer crowds.

3. Winter (December to February)

You can expect snowfall and chilly weather during this time, with temperatures of nearly 15°C, even falling to 0°C. As a result, Kufri and Narkanda transform into ski hubs.
