Some journeys become unforgettable because of the destination, while others stay close to your heart because of the people you share them with. For Ankitha Puttaswamy, her Ladakh trip was a little of both. Travelling with her mother, Sunitha, made every mountain road, monastery, and lakeside moment even more meaningful.
Knowing that a trip to Ladakh involves long drives, changing weather, and careful planning, Ankitha wanted everything to be organised well before they arrived. After exploring different travel options, she chose Thrillophilia for its well-planned itinerary and end-to-end support. From accommodation and transfers to permits and on-ground coordination, every detail was taken care of, allowing the two of them to focus only on enjoying the journey together.
Some journeys stay with you forever. Here's Ankitha's Ladakh story
Discovering the Beauty of Ladakh

Their adventure began in Leh, where the crisp mountain air and peaceful surroundings instantly slowed life down. After checking into their hotel, they spent the day exploring Leh Palace, admiring the panoramic views from Shanti Stupa, and wandering through the colourful Leh Market. It was the perfect way to ease into the high altitude while soaking in Ladakh's unique charm.
The following day introduced them to some of the region's most iconic attractions. As they travelled through Sham Valley, they visited the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, experienced the fascinating Magnetic Hill, sought blessings at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and finally stopped at the famous SECMOL campus featured in 3 Idiots. Every stop brought a new story and a new landscape to admire.
Roads That Led to Unforgettable Memories

One of the most exciting parts of the journey was crossing the legendary Khardung La Pass on the way to Nubra Valley. Surrounded by towering mountains, every bend in the road revealed breathtaking views.
In Nubra, Ankitha and her mother experienced something they had never seen before-a cold desert nestled among snow-covered peaks. They watched the famous double-humped Bactrian camels, explored the vast sand dunes of Hunder, and spent a peaceful evening enjoying the calm beauty of the valley.
The drive to Pangong Lake was equally memorable. Passing through remote villages and mountain landscapes, they finally reached the lake whose changing shades of blue seemed almost unreal. Standing together by the water's edge, surrounded by silence and towering mountains, became one of the most cherished moments of their trip.
On their return to Leh via Chang La Pass, they visited the beautiful Thiksey Monastery and the Druk Padma Karpo School, adding cultural experiences to an already unforgettable journey.
More Than Just Sightseeing

What made the trip truly special wasn't just the destinations but the experiences shared along the way. Watching the sunrise over the mountains, enjoying evenings around a bonfire, exploring local markets, and simply admiring the changing landscapes together turned every day into a beautiful memory.
Travelling with a small group also added to the experience, giving them the opportunity to meet fellow travellers while enjoying the warmth and hospitality that Ladakh is known for.
Throughout the journey, the ever-changing scenery kept surprising them. One moment they were surrounded by snow-covered passes, and the next they were driving through vast valleys, peaceful monasteries, and crystal-clear lakes. Every day felt completely different from the last.
Why They Chose Thrillophilia
For Ankitha, one of the biggest reasons this trip was so enjoyable was the peace of mind that came with travelling through Thrillophilia.
Everything had been planned before they even reached Ladakh. Comfortable accommodations, airport transfers, sightseeing arrangements, permits, and intercity travel were all managed smoothly. The itinerary was designed to allow proper acclimatisation before travelling to higher-altitude destinations, making the journey comfortable for both Ankitha and her mother.
The team remained available throughout the trip, ensuring that every transfer, stay, and activity happened as planned. Instead of worrying about logistics in a remote destination, they were free to enjoy the experience and spend quality time together.
Memories That Will Last Forever
As they boarded their flight home, Ankitha and Sunitha carried much more than photographs. They returned with stories of scenic mountain roads, peaceful monasteries, unforgettable sunsets, and moments that only travelling together can create.
Looking back, Ankitha described the journey as one filled with comfort, beautiful experiences, and seamless planning from beginning to end. For anyone dreaming of exploring Ladakh, she believes choosing the right travel partner makes all the difference.
Their mother-daughter adventure through the Himalayas became more than just a holiday; it became a collection of memories they will treasure for years to come.
