Best Time to Visit Darjeeling
Spring (March to May): The temperature is between 10°C and 20°C, which is the best time to visit a tea garden. You can also see the rhododendron flowers on trees.
Autumn (October to November): This is the best time to take pictures of the beautiful views of Kanchenjunga because the weather is pleasant and the temperature stays between 8°C and 17°C.
Winter (December to February): Temperatures drop to 2°C to 10°C, making winter a great season for honeymooners and snow lovers to enjoy misty mornings, cosy stays, and stunning sunrises from Tiger Hill.
Monsoon (June to September): The temperatures range from 15°C and 22°C, but frequent rains and landslides can disrupt travel and limit sightseeing activities.
1.Tiger Hill: This is one of the best places to see the sunrise in Darjeeling in the early morning. On clear days, you might even be able to see Mount Everest from here.
2. Batasia Loop: A spiral railway track on the Toy Train (Darjeeling Himalayan Railway) route that gives you amazing views of the snow-covered Eastern Himalayas.
3. The Peace Pagoda: Constructed to foster harmony and peace, this serene Buddhist monument is situated on the slopes of Jalapahar Hill.
4. Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park: This is a high-altitude mountain zoo, where you can see endangered species like red pandas, snow leopards, Himalayan wolves, and Tibetan wolves.
5. Chowrasta Mall Road: This bustling public square and retail district is a terrific place to relax, shop, ride horses, and enjoy the snow-capped peaks.
Things to do in Darjeeling
1. Ride the Toy Train: Take a toy train ride, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and see its narrow-gauge tracks, beautiful curves, and old-world charm of the city.
2. Drink Local Tea: Go to the Happy Valley Tea Estate for a tour of how tea is made. You can taste and buy a lot of different Darjeeling blends here.
3. Trek to Tiger Hill: Opt for the early morning Tiger Hill trek to see the sun rise over the Kanchenjunga in a golden light.
4. Shop for Handicrafts: Don’t forget to shop for the traditional woollens, handmade carpets, prayer flags, and Tibetan souvenirs that will show off the area's cultural heritage in local markets.
5. Visit Monasteries: Explore Dali Monastery and Ghoom Monastery, and learn about the spiritual side of Darjeeling.
The trip was really nice, comfortable, hassle free and fun. Ambika gave us a good deal and itinerary. Cab Drivers were experienced and very helpful. So overall it was a good tour.
Our experience with Thrillophilia team was fabulous. Each and everything was planned as per iternary. Stay at Divine Grace and Divine Himalayan Resort was good and cab drivers service was excellent. The team went above and beyond to make our trip seamless. Our guide in all location was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience unforgettable.
Thanks to Thrillophilia and Team
Overall, we had a wonderful experience—especially with the local people, who were warm and welcoming. The local tour guides and driver-cum-guides were exceptionally skilled, professional, and added great value to our journey.
That said, all commitments were honored, and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. This may have been a one-off hiccup, and I would still recommend Thrillophilia for future travel. A memorable journey overall!

The overall experience was pretty good, except for the gangtok hotel. The rooms were a bit cramped and claustrophobic, but on request, they'll change it for us.
Overall experience was very good, they managed travel itineraries and site seeing as per the plan and able to cover most of the places which are part of the actual plan. There was a regular follow up throughout the trip and ensured the safe and on time pickup and drop. The stay at Darjeeling and Gangtok hotels were good, however the Pelling hotel was average. I would recommend Thrillophilia’s for future trips, as they were well organised and ensured peaceful travel throughout the trip.
North East India is underrated and Thrillophilia packaged it in a way that made it accessible without losing the rawness of the region. Dzukou Valley in Nagaland, Loktak Lake in Manipur, the tribal villages. These are not on typical tourist circuits and yet Thrillophilia had everything organised and smooth. A trip that changed my perspective on travelling within India.
Thanks to Rahul from the sales team for designing such a wonderful itinerary for us and for continuously checking in on us throughout the trip.
We booked with Thrillophilia for a 9 days trip to Gangtok and Darjeeling. Our contact person Gautam with whom I did the booking was available throughout the trip.. We had a partial booking of our hotel stay as we had a voucher from Karma club and the rest of the trip was to be orgbaised around it. Still they did a great job of it. Hotel rooms were decent but could be better. They have a tie up with Ankita holidays for North East. The local person Mr Shambu Singh kept in touch daily to check and updated us with the driver details etc. Overall a good trip. We enjoyed it...
Sikkim family holiday was perfectly designed the right mix of nature, culture and comfortable pacing for kids.
Tsomgo Lake and Rumtek Monastery were absolute favourites and the kids couldn't stop talking about the yaks.
Good hotels, very helpful guides and no unpleasant surprises throughout the trip.
The toy train from New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling was pure nostalgia. Gurudongmar Lake at sunrise with the Himalayan backdrop was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed. Thrillophilia added an unexpected yak ride at Tsomgo Lake for the kids which they absolutely loved. Very well planned trip for my family
Sikkim ke mountains itne peaceful hain ki rooz wahan rehne ka mann karta hai. Pelling se Kangchenjunga ka view dekh ke bilkul emotional ho gaya tha. Guide ki knowledge of local culture was excellent. This region deserves so much more love from Indian travellers!
