By Air: Bagdogra Airport (IXB)

Bagdogra Airport (IXB) in West Bengal is the nearest entry point, located 120 km from Gangtok.

Road Routes and Transfers:

From Bagdogra: You can hire a private cab (INR 3,000-4,000) or take a shared taxi (INR 300-400 per seat). The 120 km journey via National Highway 10 takes approximately 4 to 5 hours.

By Train: New Jalpaiguri (NJP)

New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the main railway hub for Northeast India, located 114 km from Gangtok.

• Transfers: Shared taxis from NJP cost INR 300-400 and take 3.5 to 4 hours. Private cabs are available for INR 3,000-4,000.
• Connectivity: NJP is well-connected to Kolkata (8 hours), Delhi (18+ hours via Rajdhani), and Mumbai (30+ hours).

Inner Line Permit: Mandatory for Gangtok and North Sikkim
