How to Reach Australia From Bangalore

Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore offers connecting flights to Australia through hubs such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Dubai, and Doha. Direct flights are generally unavailable on most routes, so at least one transit stop is usually required.

Average flight durations range between 13 and 20 hours depending on the destination and connection time. Sydney and Melbourne remain the most common entry points for travellers booking Australia tour packages from Bangalore.

A useful detail here is that arrival procedures and immigration checks may take longer during peak holiday periods. Keeping accommodation details and return tickets easily accessible usually makes the process smoother.

Best Places to Visit in Australia

  • Sydney: Sydney remains one of the most popular destinations included in Australia packages from Bangalore. The city combines waterfront attractions, urban neighbourhoods, beaches, and cultural landmarks. Many travellers spend 3 to 4 days here before continuing to other regions. Travellers who want to focus their whole trip around the city can also look at a dedicated Sydney Tour Package.
  • Melbourne: Melbourne attracts visitors for its cafés, sporting culture, art districts, and nearby road trips. Another reason travellers include Melbourne is the Great Ocean Road, which remains one of Australia's most popular coastal driving routes. A standalone Melbourne Tour Package is a good option for travellers who want to spend most of their trip exploring this one city in depth.
  • Gold Coast: Gold Coast is known for beaches, theme parks, and surf culture. Families often include this destination because it offers a mix of sightseeing and leisure activities. A Gold Coast Tour Package works well for travellers prioritising theme parks and beach time.
  • Great Barrier Reef: Located near Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef remains one of Australia's biggest attractions. Visitors usually explore the reef through snorkelling, diving, or boat tours. A Cairns Tour Package is the most convenient way to base a trip around reef excursions and the Daintree Rainforest.
  • Blue Mountains: Located around 2 hours from Sydney, the Blue Mountains provide a contrast to city sightseeing. Walking trails, viewpoints, and forest landscapes attract many day-trip visitors.
  • Brisbane: Many multi-city itineraries also route through Brisbane for its riverside setting, museums, and wildlife sanctuaries. A Brisbane Tour Package suits travellers who want a quieter city base with easy access to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Travellers heading further west sometimes also add a Perth Tour Package to their itinerary for destinations like Rottnest Island.

Best Things to Do in Australia

  • Visit Sydney Opera House: The Sydney Opera House remains one of the country's most recognised landmarks. Guided tours usually provide insights into its architecture and cultural significance.
  • Drive the Great Ocean Road: This coastal route near Melbourne passes cliffs, beaches, and viewpoints. Many travellers include it because the drive itself becomes a major part of the experience.
  • Explore the Great Barrier Reef: Snorkelling and reef cruises remain among the most requested activities in an Australia holiday package from Bangalore. Weather conditions can affect tour schedules, especially during cyclone season.
  • Watch Wildlife: Australia offers opportunities to spot kangaroos, koalas, penguins, and native bird species. Wildlife parks and nature reserves remain popular among family travellers.
  • Visit Theme Parks on the Gold Coast: Movie World, Sea World, and Dreamworld attract visitors looking for entertainment-based experiences. Families often dedicate an entire day to these attractions.

Best Time to Visit Australia

Australia is a year-round destination, with each season offering unique experiences. Whether you want to explore vibrant cities, relax on pristine beaches, or discover natural wonders like the Great Barrier Reef, choosing the right season can enhance your holiday.

  • Summer (December to February): Summer sees temperatures between 20°C and 35°C, making it ideal for beach holidays, harbour cruises, and outdoor attractions. Destinations like Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane, and the Great Barrier Reef are at their best during this season. Since it is the peak travel period, booking flights and hotels in advance is recommended.
  • Autumn & Spring (March to May and September to November): With temperatures ranging from 15°C to 28°C, these are the best seasons to visit Australia. Pleasant weather makes it perfect for exploring Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road, Blue Mountains, Phillip Island, and Cairns. Fewer crowds and comfortable conditions also make sightseeing and road trips more enjoyable.
  • Winter (June to August): Winter temperatures range between 5°C and 20°C. It is the best time to visit Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, thanks to dry weather and excellent visibility for snorkelling and diving. Southern Australia also offers skiing in the Australian Alps and seasonal whale-watching opportunities.

Vegetarian & Food Guide For Indian Travellers

Finding Indian food during an Australia trip from Bangalore is easier than many first-time travellers expect. Major cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Perth have vibrant Indian communities, making it easy to find North Indian, South Indian, Jain-friendly, vegetarian, vegan, and halal dining options throughout your journey.

Popular tourist areas like Harris Park in Sydney, Dandenong in Melbourne, and South Brisbane are well known for authentic Indian restaurants serving everything from dosas and biryanis to Punjabi thalis and street food. Most hotels included in Australia tour packages from Bangalore provide daily breakfast, while lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at nearby restaurants or local cafés.

Along with Indian cuisine, travellers often enjoy trying Australian favourites such as fish and chips, meat pies, barramundi, pavlova, lamingtons, and fresh seafood. Australia's café culture is equally popular, with brunch menus featuring locally sourced ingredients and excellent coffee.

Some popular vegetarian dishes worth trying include:

  • Pumpkin Soup
  • Mushroom Risotto
  • Veggie Pies
  • Avocado Toast
  • Grilled Halloumi Salad
  • Roasted Vegetable Pizza
  • Fresh Tropical Fruits
  • Australian-style Desserts like Lamingtons and Pavlova

One traveller from Bangalore, Arun Pandit, who booked Best of Australia | Coastlines, Skylines & Adventure in February 2026, shared that finding vegetarian food throughout the trip was much easier than expected, particularly in Sydney and Melbourne, where Indian restaurants were located close to their hotels.

Travel Tips For Your Australia Trip From Bangalore

Australia is one of the easiest countries to explore, but a little planning before departure can make your holiday much smoother. From long domestic distances to seasonal weather variations, keeping a few practical tips in mind helps you enjoy the trip without unnecessary surprises.

  • Apply for your Australia Visitor Visa well in advance, especially if you're travelling during Christmas, New Year, or school holidays.
  • Australia is much larger than many first-time travellers expect. Domestic flights are often the fastest way to travel between major cities, so choosing an itinerary with well-planned internal connections can save both time and energy.
  • Pack clothing according to the regions you're visiting. While tropical destinations like Cairns remain warm throughout the year, cities such as Melbourne can experience multiple weather changes in a single day.
  • Carry a universal Type I travel adapter, as Australia's electrical sockets differ from those used in India.
  • Contactless payments are widely accepted across Australia, but carrying a small amount of Australian Dollars is useful for local markets and smaller cafés.
  • If you're planning to visit popular attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, Great Barrier Reef, or Phillip Island during peak season, booking tickets in advance is recommended.

Travellers who mainly want to explore Australia's famous landmarks without planning every activity independently often prefer an Australia Sightseeing Package, as most major attractions, transfers, and guided tours are organised before arrival.

Common Mistakes Travellers Make While Booking Australia Tour Packages From Bangalore

Booking Only Based on Price:

The lowest-priced package isn't always the best value. Some itineraries exclude domestic flights, attraction tickets, or airport transfers, resulting in higher expenses later. Comparing overall inclusions often provides a better picture than looking only at the starting price.

Trying to Cover Too Many Cities:

Australia is much larger than many travellers imagine. Attempting to visit Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Cairns, Perth, and Tasmania within a week usually leaves little time to enjoy each destination. Choosing a realistic itinerary makes the holiday far more enjoyable.

Ignoring Seasonal Weather:

Unlike India, Australia's seasons are reversed. Summer falls between December and February, while winter arrives between June and August. Checking seasonal conditions before booking helps travellers choose suitable destinations and pack accordingly.

Waiting Too Long to Book Flights:

International airfares from Bangalore usually increase significantly during Australian summer holidays, Christmas, New Year, and Easter. Booking flights and hotels several months in advance often results in better prices and greater hotel availability.

Not Checking Package Inclusions Carefully:

Before confirming your booking, verify whether internal flights, airport transfers, attraction tickets, meals, and sightseeing tours are included. Reading the itinerary carefully helps avoid unexpected expenses after reaching Australia.

Travellers looking for an affordable international holiday often compare multiple itineraries before choosing an Australia Budget Tour Package, as these packages usually focus on essential sightseeing while keeping overall travel costs under control.
