Loch Ard Gorge Overview

The Loch Ard gorge is alternatively known as the Shipwreck Coast due to shipwreck that happened here in 1878. History suggests that 2 survivors- Tom Pearce and Eva Carmichael managed to escape from the shipwreck and landed on this coast.

This attraction is known for the graves of the fellow sailors of the ship who were buried here too. There was a time when the Twelve Apostles were known as the Sow and Piglets and every summer, this place comes alive with a lot of short tailed shearwaters.
