Best Time to Visit Meghalaya

Meghalaya is a year-round destination, but each season offers a different kind of experience.

Spring (March to April): Pleasant weather (15°C to 22°C) across Shillong, Cherrapunji, and Mawlynnong. Roads stay clear, and waterfalls keep flowing. Great for taking pictures and seeing the sights.

Summer (May to June): The temperature remains in the range of 18°C to 25°C. You can go to the Arwah Caves, Dawki River, and Laitlum Canyon. Bring light woollen clothing and sunblock for chilly nights.

Autumn (October to November): Dry season with 12°C to 20°C. Clear skies make it a great time to explore Living Root Bridges, attend the Wangala Festival, and enjoy road travel.

Winter (December to February): Cold but dry (4°C to 16°C). Great choice if you want to steer clear of the crowds. Check out the police bazaars, local cafes and sacred forests in Mawphlang!

This is our second trip with Thrillophilia and our experience was as good as the 1st one to Rajasthan. This was a 7N8D trip to Assam and Meghalaya. As we went there in the last week of April we saw all the waterfalls in their full splendor. We also saw Emerald green river water. Clear water was visible at KrangShuri falls. We loved the trek to the Famed Single and Double Decker living root bridges. We trust Thrillophilia because of their excellent choice of comfortable hotels. Special mention about our driver, Rajkumar, after knowing that we are vegetarians he took us to some awesome restaurants through the journey. Also suggested an ama... Read More

We recently returned from North east trip. It was designed in perfect way. I would appreciate the planning team especially Mr Sachin, he took care of each & everything. Since I was travelling with children so he curated the trip accordingly. My children were so happy to explore the abode of clouds- Cherrapunji, Dawki, & Shillong local market. Though we could not go to Mawllynnong due to Sunday but it was ok. We also like to express our gratitude for the driver assigned for the trip, Mr Hiren Deka. He was very polite & professional. Also, shared some knowledge about the local cuture which was really helpful. When we travel with kids, safety is... Read More
