Best time to visit Vietnam from Bangalore

The best time to plan your Vietnam tour package from Bangalore is during the spring and autumn seasons. Vietnam has three distinct climate zones and no single best month for the whole country. Your experience will vary depending on which region you choose to visit in a particular season.

Season

Months

Av. Temperature

Conditions

Best For

Watch Out For

Northeast Monsoon (Dry Season)

Nov – Apr

15-28 Degrees

Cool and crisp in the North; hot and sunny in the South. Clear skies across Hanoi and Saigon.

Halong Bay cruises, Sapa trekking, and Ho Chi Minh City walking tours.

Central Region Rain: Da Nang and Hoi An face heavy rain and flooding risk through November and December.

Southwest Monsoon (Wet Season)

May – Sep

26-35 Degrees

High humidity with heavy, predictable afternoon downpours. High temperatures nationwide.

Budget savings on flights from Bangalore and crowd-free sightseeing in Hanoi and Saigon.

Sapa Mud & Typhoons: Mountain trails in Sapa become dangerously muddy, and Halong Bay cruises risk sudden storm cancellations in August.

Central Coast Dry Window

Feb – Aug

24-34 Degrees

Dry, sunny weather is localised to the central provinces while the rest of the country transitions.

Sunbathing in Da Nang, beach resorts in Nha Trang, and night walks in lantern-lit Hoi An.

Scorching May Heat: Temperatures in Hue and Da Nang can spike past 38 degrees in May, making midday tours exhausting.

Note: The best strategy is to choose your month first and then choose your route shape. This ensures you avoid the peak rainy seasons in your chosen areas.

Common planning mistakes Bangalore travellers make

Avoid these frequent errors to ensure your Vietnam tour package from Bangalore remains simple and enjoyable.

  • Trying to cover Hanoi, Halong Bay, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City, and Sapa in a single 8-day 7-night Vietnam tour package.
  • Choosing the cheapest flight instead of the one that matches your planned route shape.
  • Booking cheaper connecting flights over direct ones and losing valuable time in layovers.
  • Assuming Da Nang has the same direct-flight access from Bangalore as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Treating the Vietnam weather as the same across all regions and choosing dates without checking specific zones.
  • Compare land-only prices with flight-inclusive prices when you are budgeting.
  • Using outdated visa guidance based on old rules instead of the current official e-visa process.
  • Not deciding between a north-first or south-first route before starting to compare different packages.

The transition from the historic streets of Hanoi to the modern skyline of Saigon was fascinating. The package was very balanced, giving us enough rest between city tours and cave explorations. Hotels were clean and the staff was incredibly hospitable throughout the 8-day tour. Truly a professional tour management by the team. The cruise was exceptionally high-quality.

Vietnam Tours From bangalore FAQs

Is Vietnam safe for Indian tourists? What should I keep in mind?

Yes, Vietnam is very safe and welcoming for Indians. For a smooth trip, keep these logistics in mind:

  1. Reconfirm your e-visa status on the official portal before flying.
  2. Watch out for typhoon disruptions in Central Vietnam (Da Nang/Hoi An) between September and December.
  3. Secure a good and reliable travel insurance covering trip delays.

Where are the most practical neighbourhoods to stay during a Vietnam tour package from Bangalore?

It is important to choose a practical neighbourhood to stay in Vietnam, based on your itinerary in order to minimise daily travel times:

  • Hanoi: Old Quarter – Best for local food, historic temples, and hassle-free Halong Bay cruise pickups.
  • Halong Bay: Overnight Cruise – Sleeping on the water is highly recommended over rushed mainland day trips.
  • Da Nang: Beachside – Great coastal views and quick airport access; an ideal hub for families and couples.
  • Hoi An: Ancient Town – Stay 1–2 nights for the evening lanterns, or visit via a 30-minute day trip from Da Nang.
  • Ho Chi Minh City: District 1 – Keeps you within walking distance of prime sights and saves hours in city traffic.

How many nights are enough for a Vietnam tour package from Bangalore?

A stay of 7 to 10 nights is usually enough for a Vietnam tour package from Bangalore. This duration allows you to cover two major regions, such as the north and central or the northern and southern regions of the country, at a comfortable pace. Trying to cover too many touchpoints in a limited time can result in fatigue, hampering your overall experience.

Do Indian travellers need a visa for Vietnam in 2026?

Yes, Indian passport holders require a valid E-visa to enter Vietnam. You can conveniently apply for the same through the official government portals. The process is digital and typically takes 3-5 working days to complete. It is suggested to apply for the visa at least 3 weeks before your departure date.

What is the cost of a Vietnam tour package from Bangalore in 2026?

Land-only packages typically start around INR 35,000 per person. Flight-inclusive mid-range packages usually range from INR 75,000 to INR 1,20,000 per person. These costs cover your accommodation, local transfers, and key sightseeing activities. The final price varies based on your choice of hotels, the number of internal flights, and whether you opt for premium cruise stays.

Why is Bengaluru a great starting point for a Vietnam trip?

Bengaluru is a great starting point for a Vietnam trip because the city offers direct flights via VietJet Air to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in under 5 hours. This dual-city connectivity lets you land in the north and fly home from the south, completely eliminating layovers and keeping your itinerary highly efficient.

What currency should I carry, and are Indian rupees accepted?

Indian Rupees are not accepted in Vietnam, so you should carry US Dollars (USD) or a multi-currency forex card to exchange for Vietnamese Dong (VND) upon arrival. ATMs are widely available across major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for direct cash withdrawals, but it is always smart to keep a small amount of cash on hand for local street food vendors and traditional market purchases.

Is Indian food easily available across major Vietnamese cities?

Yes, finding authentic Indian food is very easy in Vietnam due to a thriving diaspora and a massive influx of Indian tourists. Neighbourhoods like Hanoi’s Old Quarter and Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1 boast dozens of highly rated North and South Indian restaurants. Many local Vietnamese establishments also offer clear vegetarian, vegan, and Jain food alternatives if you ask them in advance.

What is the best way to travel internally between Vietnamese cities?

For long distances, booking domestic flights via Vietnam Airlines or VietJet Air is the fastest and most practical option. For regional travel, highly comfortable sleeper buses or luxury limousines connect hubs like Da Nang to Hoi An or Hanoi to Sapa. For daily commuting within city limits, downloading the Grab app (Southeast Asia's Uber) ensures fixed, transparent pricing and eliminates taxi scams.

Do I need a local SIM card, and where should I buy it?

Having a local data connection is absolutely essential for navigating streets, using translation apps, and booking rides. You can easily purchase a physical 4G SIM card or an eSIM from official telecom kiosks (like Viettel or Vinaphone) right inside the international arrivals terminal. These tourist data plans are highly affordable, usually costing around INR 400 to INR 800 for unlimited data.
