A trip to Bhutan from India will take you flying over the Himalayas and into the land of the monks, as Bhutan is a predominant Buddhist country and is nestled deep in the heart of the Himalayas. And such is a wonder of this country that you would be in awe of the scenic beauty of it and of the spirit of people who call this place their home. Lined with valleys after valleys, each one more scenic than the last one, Bhutan is a country that will have you coming here over and over again, just to find the peace away from hustles and bustles of the normal city life that you have become a part of. 

And this trip to Bhutan from India, spanning over the next 8 days and 7 nights, starts with your arrival in Paro, as that is where the only airport of the country is located. From here, you will be transferred to the capital of Bhutan, Thimphu, which will be the starting point of your sightseeing experience. After that scenic drive through the many valleys and mountains, you will leave for the sightseeing experience in Thimphu, covering destinations like Simtokha Dzong, Memorial Chorten and Kuensel Phodrang. A transfer will then take you to Punakha over the famous Dochula Pass and viewpoint, you will be visiting some of the famous attractions of Punakha like the Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) and Punakha Dzong.

The next stop on the ride will be the beautiful valley of Phobjikha, which is also the winter home of the rare bird species of Black-Necked Crane. And then taking a turn towards the most beautiful leg of the journey, you will be going to Paro. Spending a day at leisure here, you will be taking a day to see major attractions of the city like the National Museum of Paro and Kyichu Lhakhang. And then, to bring in the adventure part of the trip into perspective, you will be taking a small trek to the famous Paro Taktsang, or the Tiger’s Nest. It is a monastery built into the side of a 1200m cliff and can be considered as the poster boy of Bhutan’s tourism. 

On the last day of the Bhutan trip from India, you will be transferred to the airport in Paro so you can board your return flight. As you land back in India, the experience will come to an impressive end.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival at Paro Airport | Transfer to Thimphu

    Arrive at the airport of Paro, where our representative will transfer you to Thimphu.

    After arrival at Thimphu, you will check-in to your hotel.

  • Day 2 - Local Sightseeing at Thimphu

    After breakfast on this morning, you will be going for a sightseeing tour of Thimphu.

    Falling on the day are attractions like Simtokha Dzong, Memorial Chorten and Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha viewpoint).

  • Day 3 - Thimphu to Punakha

    After breakfast this morning, you will be leaving for Punakha over the Dochula Pass.

    Spend some time at the Dochula viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Himalayas.

    Once in Punakha, you will be visiting the Chimi Lhakhang (the Fertility Temple) and the Punakha Dzong.

  • Day 4 - Punakha - Phobjikha

    After breakfast, you will be going to explore the stunningly beautiful valley of Phobjikha.

    The valley is famous for being the winter home of the Black-necked Crane, so if you are lucky, you probably will be able to spot some here.

  • Day 5 - Punakha to Paro

    After breakfast in Punakha, you will be leaving for your adventure in Paro.

    Arrive and check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

  • Day 6 - Paro Local Sightseeing

    This morning after breakfast, you will leave for some local sightseeing in the streets of Paro.

    You will be covering a lot of ground as you get to explore the National Museum of Paro and Kyichu Lhakhang.

  • Day 7 - Paro Taktsang (The Tiger's Nest)

    After breakfast, you will be going to take the trek to the famous Tiger's Nest Monastery in Paro. Also known as the Paro Taktsang, the temple is built into the side of a 1200m cliff and is one of the most beautiful structures in all of Bhutan.

    Overnight in hotel.

  • Day 8 - Check-out and Return

    After breakfast in the morning, you will check-out and leave for the airport in Paro.

    You will then catch the return flight from here to bring the experience to an end.
