By Air:
You can fly from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (Kolkata), Bagdogra International Airport (near Darjeeling, West Bengal) and Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi) to Paro Airport in Bhutan. Thimphu is 65 kilometres away from Paro and you can hire a taxi to Thimphu.
By road:

Of all the three, Jaigaon/ Phuentsholing is the most convenient one. On reaching Phuentsholing, one can take a cab or Bhutan government bus to Thimpu which is 165 kms away and it takes about 6 hours to reach Thimphu from Phuentsholing
By train:
The nearest railway station to Jaigaon/ Phuentsholing is Hasimara. You can take a train from Kolkata to Hasimara and then take a cab to Jaigaon/ Phuentsholing border. From Phuentsholing, one can take a taxi or bus to Thimphu.
