Goa is one of the most popular tourist attractions not just for Indians but also for people from all around the world. However, as Goa is divided into two main districts, South and North; South Goa has its own set of specialities. And we are focusing on just that. South Goa is a rather unexplored area and the beaches here certainly deserve a special mention. There are some really secluded and quiet beaches, islands that have an absolute laid back attitude and a different charm all together. Some of the best beaches in South Goa are Agonda, Palolem Beach, Cavelossim Beach, Benaulim Beach, Varca Beach, Utorda Beach and Majorda Beach. They say “Goa is always a good idea” so you don’t have to look out for a particular period of the year to be here. However, if you are fond of parades, carnivals and celebrations, December to March, which is considered to be the peak season is the best time for your visit. But please note, this is also the time when Goa is most crowded and expensive. On the contrary, if you are looking for a rather relaxing time, you can visit Goa anytime for rest of the year, when June to September, the monsoon months are not very happening for beach bums but amazing for greenery and wildlife enthusiasts. Among the best things to do in South Goa are the likes of going on road trips, hogging at Martin’s Corner, visiting the Dudhsagar Waterfall, riding on a hot-air balloon, etc.
