Phuket Trip Cost from India & Realistic Budget Breakdown
A Phuket trip offers everything from beaches, nightlife, and relaxation to spa sessions and more. Your Phuket trip pricing depends on your type of travel, inclusions, and activities you do. Before you pay, we will give you a clear and transparent breakdown of costs so you don't feel lost or confused. Phuket package pricing also depends on how many beaches and islands you are covering, the type of hotel accommodation, and the season of travel, for which the flight fare varies.
Package | Duration | Destinations Covered | Land Price / Person | With Flights | Best For |
Budget Phuket Package | 4–5 Days | Phuket-Pattaya-Bangkok | INR 18,000 – INR 32,000 | Typically starts from INR 18,000 – INR 22,000 | Budget-conscious travellers, first-time international visitors, couples and friends looking for a short island getaway |
Mid-Range Phuket Package | 5–7 Days | Bangkok, Phuket & Krabi | INR 34,000 – INR 44,000 | Typically starts from INR 21,000 – INR 31,000 | Families, honeymooners, and travellers seeking a balance of sightseeing, island tours, and comfort |
Premium Phuket Package | 5–8 Days | Phuket, Krabi, | INR 52,000 – INR 64,900+ | Flights Included INR 25,000 to INR 35,000+ | Luxury travellers, honeymoon couples, and those looking for a comprehensive Thailand experience with premium inclusions |

Daily Expense Guide (Per Person)
Expense | Budget | Mid-Range | Premium | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Accommodation per night | INR 4,000 – INR 6,000 (Budget hotels) | INR 12,000 and INR 18,000 (3-4 star hotels) | INR 30,000–INR 40,000 (5-star resort/private villas) | 3-4 star hotels provide pools, breakfast, and prime locations. 5-star resorts offer beachfront access, private plunge pools, and luxury amenities. If you want a budget stay with all these facilities, book 3- or 4-star hotels slightly away from the beach. |
Meals per day | INR 5,000 – INR 7,000 | INR 10,000 – INR 15,000 | INR 25,000 – INR 40,000 | Tourist cafes and mid-range restaurants charge modern prices. Fine dining, beachfront seafood grills, and hotel restaurants are too pricy. For cost savings, mix it up. Eat local street food or convenience store meals for lunch, and for dinner, go to a prime restaurant. |
Internal transport | INR 2,000 (Scooter / Smart Bus) | INR 5,000 (Bolt / Grab Cabs) | INR 12,000 (Private chauffeur) | Private chauffeurs provide air-conditioned, on-demand luxury, which commands top-tier daily pricing. Only if you want to have a luxury experience or else travel like a local can you save more. |
Activities and entry | INR 4,500 (Shared speedboats) | INR 10,000 (Phi Phi / Elephant sanctuary) | INR 25,000 (Private yacht / Premium shows) | Pick just one major island tour and enjoy the rest of the day at the beaches. |

What Makes Phuket Package Prices Go Up or Down
- Season and weather: Prices for Phuket packages vary for different reasons, with the chosen month of travel being a prime factor. Phuket's peak tourist time is from November to February. Prices rise by 50 to 100% during this window because of Christmas and New Year demand. On the other hand, if you travel around May/October, when the temperature is slightly higher, you might get a 20 to 30% lower cost of Phuket trip from India.
- Hotel location: The hotel location also determines the package price in a way that properties that are close to or on prime beach locations like Patong, Karon, or Kata beach are costly. Whereas if you can move a little towards Phuket town, your stay costs drop significantly.
- Flights: Airlines' fares play an important role in determining the cost of Phuket trip from India. Direct and connecting flights cost differently. Air India Delhi-Phuket or IndiGo Mumbai-Phuket costs you more but is a time-saving option. Connecting flights via Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur are lower in cost but take a longer travel time.
- Visa cost: As per recent regulatory updates, Thailand has revised its entry policy for Indian travellers. A mandatory visa fee of 2,000 THB (approximately INR 5,000) now applies to all arrivals. No Phuket trip package can legally exclude this fee from its total cost. Often, Phuket tour packages that appear lower in cost do not include it. However, it becomes important for travellers to factor it in before comparing prices to avoid facing last-minute hurdles.
Best Time to Visit Phuket
November to April serves the best weather conditions for visiting Phuket for both beach and island tours. During this time, the skies are clear, the chance of rainfall is lower, and sea conditions are stable. Sea conditions are important for speedboat rides and snorkelling.
Peak season is considered the months of December to March, with peak crowds and major spikes in hotel and flight fares due to high demand.
Season Breakdown
Peak Season (December to March)
- Temperature: It remains between 23°C and 30°C, with the lowest rainfall and calm seas, and is best suited for water sports and activities.
- February is considered the driest month.
- You can expect high visitors and pricing, especially around the Christmas and New Year window.
Shoulder Months (November and April)
- Temperature: 24°C to 31°C in November, and 26°C to 32°C in April
- Transition period with good weather and fewer crowds
- Sea conditions are generally stable, but can change due to sudden weather changes
- Better hotel availability and pricing compared to peak months; still recommended to book early to get the best option at the best price.
Monsoon Season (May to October)
- Temperature: 25°C to 33°C
- During this time, the monsoon enters, and it is of short duration but intense.
- Sea conditions get rough, and tides are present. Affects island transfers and tours, with ferries getting cancelled or rescheduled.
Weather vs Sea Conditions: It is a common misconception that sunny weather means good sea conditions. Instead, it depends on tides and other sea factors. Boat tours depend more on sea conditions than on the sunshine.
Activities by season: Snorkelling and diving are best from November to April. Surfing is possible from May to October, when the sea is rougher, and conditions suit the sport.
Thrillophilia's note: For 3- to 5-day Phuket packages, plan between November and March for the best all-round conditions. If you’re planning to surf, then we recommend that you align your trip to the May to October window.
How to Reach Phuket from India + Visa Guide
From India, travellers choose air as their medium of travel to Phuket. The most asked question is how to reach Phuket from India. Air is the most widely used route; it's convenient and saves time and energy. From India, there are direct and connecting flights to Thailand.
There are 3 main airports in Thailand:
- Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang Airport)
- Phuket – From India, there are many direct flights to the island
- Chiang Mai
Direct flights are available from major metro cities, while travellers from Tier 2 cities will typically need a layover. Common connecting hubs include Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. Flights from Chennai or Kochi are shorter and generally more affordable than those departing from North India.
Airlines operating direct routes include Air India, Vistara, and IndiGo from Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. Thai Airways and Thai Smile are also options from metro cities. For budget travellers with a single layover, Singapore Airlines and AirAsia are popular choices.
Flight Duration:
Even the direct flight time and duration change depending on your departure city and destination.
From major Indian departure cities
- Delhi to Bangkok takes 4 to 5 hours.
- Mumbai to Bangkok takes the same time
- Kolkata to Bangkok takes a little less time, around 3 hours
- Delhi/Mumbai to Phuket takes 4.5 to 6 hours.
Note – Phuket Airport takes 60 to 90 minutes for the immigration process and collecting the luggage during peak season. Try to fly on weekdays, as they are cost-effective, like Tuesday or Wednesday.
Visa and Entry Notes for Indian Travellers as of June 2026
It is always recommended to check and verify the entry rules to Thailand, as it keeps changing. As of June 2026, there are two visas a tourist can avail themselves of: a visa on arrival & Thailand e-visa.
Thailand E-Visa
The pre-arrival, single-entry tourist visa costs between INR 3,000 and INR 4,500. It permits a stay of up to 60 days and can be applied for through VFS Global or Thai embassies in India. Applications via the official online portal typically take 3 to 7 working days to process.
Note: Indian passport holders no longer need to submit their passports or documents in person when applying through the Royal Thai Embassy. Once your e-Visa is approved, you will receive a confirmation email. Print this out and carry it for boarding and immigration.
Traveller Note: You must fill out the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online via the Official Thai Immigration Portal within 72 hours before you depart.
Visa on Arrival as per May 2026
- Visa-on-arrival policies keep changing. This information is based on June 2026.
- You can get a visa from Phuket International Airport, and it is valid for 15 days from the day of arrival.
- Visa on arrival costs INR 4,500 to INR 5,000; this process is done on the spot and might take longer hours. Generally, all the processes for e-visas get covered in 1 to 3 hours.
Note – Fees and the policies for Thailand visas change frequently; it is advised to always check the official website before applying.
Documents Required
- Biodata page of the passport
- Photograph taken within the last six months
- Address Proof
- Travel booking confirmation
- Accommodation bookings (if going to a relative’s place, then invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand)
- Financial evidence: an amount of no less than 20,000 THB or INR 58,252.14 (e.g., bank statements for the last three months)
Best Places to Visit on a Phuket Trip
Phuket offers a mix of tropical islands, cultural landmarks, natural landscapes, and wildlife experiences. While beaches remain the biggest draw, many travellers also explore nearby islands, heritage districts, and marine destinations during their trip.
Phi Phi Island Day Trip
There are frequent ferry services that connect Phi Phi Island with Phuket, Krabi, and Koh Lanta, making it one of the most accessible island tours in Thailand.
On Phi Phi Island, there are basic medical facilities available for emergencies. Famous long-tail boats are commonly used for short transfers between spots such as Maya Bay and Phi Phi Leh.
A visit to Phi Phi Island is typically a one-day activity. Even travellers who do not wish to snorkel can spend time relaxing on the beaches and enjoying the scenery.
Due to changing weather conditions, it is often recommended to keep a buffer day in the itinerary. Many travellers prefer visiting Phi Phi Island on the second day of their trip, allowing time to confirm schedules and maintain a smooth itinerary flow.
Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island
Phang Nga Bay is famous for its limestone cliffs, caves, and dramatic coastal landscapes. It is best explored by boat through sheltered waterways and hidden lagoons. One of the region's notable landmarks is Khao Chang, a mountain formation resembling a crouching elephant. Visitors can also explore caves such as Ruesi Sawan and Luk Suea.
Travellers visiting in March may witness the annual turtle release fair, a seven-day event known for releasing young turtle hatchlings into the sea. This excursion is often included on the second or third day of a five-night Phuket itinerary, allowing enough time to explore without making the trip feel rushed.
Similan Islands
The Similan Islands are considered one of Thailand's top marine destinations and are located near the maritime boundary region between Thailand and India. Regular boat services operate between mid-October and May, depending on sea conditions. A speedboat takes approximately 70 minutes, while larger boats can take up to three hours.
The islands remain open from November to May, which coincides with the diving season. Clear waters and excellent visibility make this one of the country's best locations for snorkelling and diving. Due to seasonal closures and access restrictions, Similan Islands are usually recommended for travellers on longer Phuket itineraries with greater flexibility.
Old Phuket Town
Old Phuket Town offers a cultural contrast to the island's beach-focused attractions. Walking along Thalang Road reveals colourful Sino-Portuguese buildings, street art, and reminders of Phuket's historic trading past.
A visit usually takes between one and three hours, although many travellers spend longer exploring cafés, boutiques, and nearby streets. The Sunday market is particularly popular for local food, handmade products, and live performances.
Past visitors frequently mention the welcoming atmosphere and photogenic streets. Many prefer visiting with a private transfer, which allows more flexibility than fixed-timing group tours.
Phuket Elephant Sanctuary
Phuket Elephant Sanctuary offers an ethical wildlife experience where rescued elephants roam freely in a natural environment without rides, performances, or forced interactions. Visitors can observe the elephants bathing, feeding, and socialising while learning about their rescue stories and conservation efforts.
It is best suited for travellers looking for responsible wildlife experiences and usually fits well into a half-day itinerary. Morning visits are generally preferred as the elephants tend to be more active during cooler hours.
Best Things to Do on a Phuket Trip
Beyond sightseeing, Phuket offers a variety of activities ranging from adventure sports and wildlife experiences to family-friendly entertainment. These experiences can easily be included alongside island tours and beach visits.
1. Go Ziplining at Hanuman World
Hanuman World offers ziplining, sky bridges, and jungle-based adventure activities surrounded by lush rainforest.
It is a popular choice for groups, families, and adventure enthusiasts looking for a few hours of outdoor excitement. Most experiences last between two and four hours and can be combined with light sightseeing on the same day.
2. Watch the Phuket Dolphin Show
One of the popular family-friendly experiences included in many Phuket tour packages is the Phuket Dolphin Show at Dolphins Bay Nemo.
Visitors can watch dolphins perform tricks, interact with trainers, and participate in educational presentations about marine life. The professionally managed attraction offers an entertaining experience suitable for both adults and children.
3. Enjoy Water Sports at Patong, Kata, or Karon Beach
Phuket's beaches offer a wide range of water sports for adventure seekers. Activities such as parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat rides, and paddleboarding are available at popular beaches including Patong, Kata, and Karon.
Most activities operate throughout the day, although mornings generally offer calmer sea conditions. Water sports can be enjoyed as a standalone activity or combined with beach relaxation and sightseeing.
4. Watch the Phuket FantaSea Show
Phuket FantaSea is one of the island's most popular evening attractions, combining Thai culture, music, dance, acrobatics, and special effects in a large-scale theatrical production.
The complex also includes themed shopping areas and dining options, making it a complete evening experience for families and couples. Most visitors spend around 3 to 4 hours here.
5. Take a Sunset Cruise Around Phuket
A sunset cruise is one of the most relaxing ways to experience Phuket's coastline. Cruises typically sail around the Andaman Sea, offering views of nearby islands, limestone cliffs, and the sunset over the ocean.
Many cruises include refreshments, music, and opportunities for swimming or snorkelling. This experience is especially popular among couples and honeymooners looking for a scenic evening activity.

Food in Phuket & Vegetarian Guide for Indian Travellers
If travelling to Phuket, you need not worry about vegetarian food options. Phuket offers a wide range of Indian vegetarian options because of its high Chinese and Thai Buddhist population. You will find plenty of Indian restaurants, vegetarian cafés, and vegan dining options across Patong, Kata, and Phuket Town. With Thrillophilia’s Phuket tour packages, travellers also enjoy daily breakfasts with vegetarian choices and selected meals based on the chosen itinerary.
Based on verified post-trip feedback from our travellers and on-ground destination expertise, we have also identified reliable restaurants and food spots that consistently cater well to Indian tastes and dietary preferences. The restaurants below are among the best options for Indian and vegetarian travellers visiting Phuket.
Tantra Indian Restaurant: The restaurant is located at Patong Beach Road. This restaurant is famous for its North Indian dishes, dal makhani, and tandoori rotis.
Pure Vegan Heaven: Located at Chalong, it's best suited for health-conscious travellers. Pure vegan foods like plant-based burgers, Mexican wraps, and vegan versions of Thai classics.
Dishes to Try:
- Pad Thai Jay: Fried rice noodles with tofu, bean sprouts, peanuts, and tamarind sauce (make sure they use soy sauce, not fish sauce).
- Gaeng Keow Wan Jay (Green Curry): Creamy coconut milk curry with local bamboo shoots, Thai eggplants, and tofu.
- Tom Yum Jay: The well-known spicy and sour lemongrass soup, customised with mushrooms and tofu.
Common Planning Mistakes Travellers Make
- A common traveller observation is that travellers often ignore the traffic; the roads are narrow, and a 10 km trip can take up to 45+ minutes during peak time.
- Choosing far-away stays from the activity or the top tourist places. This increases the commute cost, leading to travel fatigue.
- Avoid travelling during May to October, the peak monsoon season, expecting calm, turquoise water on the west coast.
- Planning a trip in July to see the Similan or Surin Islands (they are closed from May 15 to Oct 15)
- Phuket is famous for riptides; they are powerful and often unpredictable. People often ignore red flags, indications of warning, for swimming on the beaches.
- Missing the Sunday Market and missing the Old Town Walking Street, Phuket's best cultural event.
Travel Updates and Safety Information
Phuket is considered a safe tourist destination with great tourism infrastructure. Although it is safe, always remain alert with your personal belongings; pickpocketing is common in crowded places. Wear helmets and abide by the traffic rules; motorbike accidents are common. From past travellers' observations and reviews, we noticed there are common scams, such as using a damaged jet ski.
As of May 2026, travel and safety regulations
Red Flags: Red flag warnings on beaches indicate that swimming is restricted, usually due to strong tides or rough seas during the monsoon season. Always observe and respect these warnings.
Weather: Expect thunderstorms and frequent rain from May onwards, so plan your outdoor activities accordingly.
Emergency Number: Call 1155 to reach the Tourist Police if needed.
Vaccination: Carry an up-to-date vaccination certificate along with your other travel documents.
Documents & Cash: Keep a digital copy of your passport and important documents easily accessible, and avoid carrying large amounts of cash.

Thrillophilia packages also include private transfers, on-ground assistance, and carefully curated experiences, depending on the itinerary selected. Flights and visa costs may be included in some packages.
When is the best time to visit Phuket?
