The itinerary covered Milford Sound, Queenstown, Hobbiton and the North Island in 12 days without any day feeling wasted. Domestic flights between islands were timed well. Our coordinator had added a Wanaka detour on the way which ended up being one of the best stops. What I appreciated most was that the team was reachable even across the time difference. Hotels were comfortable and well located at each stop. The Milford Sound fjord cruise on a clear morning was easily the most beautiful thing I have seen. Milford Sound in April had the autumn colours starting on the valley slopes and our guide mentioned this is one of the better months because the summer tourist rush is over.
