The fastest and most convenient way to reach Kashmir is by taking a flight to Srinagar International Airport (SXR) or Jammu Airport (IXJ). Although the latter is a domestic airport, both these places offer flights from Delhi.

By Rail

Jammu Tawi is the most accessible railway station that is well-connected within India. Trains like Jammu Mail and Jammu Tawi Express can take you to this station, and then you can hire a cab, or bus, or take another train to reach Srinagar. This is the most affordable way to reach Kashmir.

By Road

Kashmir can be reached by road from Delhi, Himachal and Punjab. NH44 is the main highway that connects Kashmir to these states via road.

What drives cost up or down:

  • Month: April–June (summer holidays) and December–January (snow season) are premium periods. March and September–November offer the best value.
  • Hotels: Houseboats and premium resorts in Gulmarg or Pahalgam cost more than city stays in Srinagar.
  • Experiences: Gondola rides, shikara cruises, and pony rides are add-ons but highly recommended.
  • Meals: Daily breakfast is included; adding lunch or dinner plans may raise costs slightly.
  • Transfers: Private vehicles with experienced local drivers ensure comfort but influence pricing.

We provide two quote routes, a standard comfort and a premium scenic so you can pick what fits your travel style and budget best.

When’s the best time to visit Kashmir (for weather, experiences, and value)?

Kashmir changes its colours every season, offering a different charm for every kind of traveller. Whether you want snow, tulips, or autumn gold, there’s a perfect window for your trip.

  • Mar–May (Spring to Early Summer): Tulip gardens bloom, apple orchards turn pink, and meadows are lush. Ideal for sightseeing, photography, and shikara rides. Pleasant temperatures (12–25°C) make this the most comfortable and colourful time to visit.
  • Jun–Aug (Summer): Clear skies and cool mountain air attract families and honeymooners. Sonmarg and Gulmarg are fully open, great for gondola rides, pony trails, and rafting in Pahalgam. Expect moderate crowds and higher hotel rates in June holidays.
  • Sep–Nov (Autumn): Golden chinar leaves transform the valley into a painting. Perfect for photography, hiking, and peaceful stays with thinner crowds and value pricing.
  • Dec–Feb (Winter): Snow blankets Gulmarg and Pahalgam which is the prime time for skiing, snowboarding, and cozy stays by the fire. Srinagar’s Dal Lake freezes partially, creating postcard views. Expect cold temperatures (−4°C to 10°C) and a quieter vibe.

We plan your Kashmir trip around the season that fits your vibe be it spring bloom, monsoon quiet, autumn gold, or full winter snow, so you get the best weather, views, and value.
