Palacio de los Cordova

Palacio de Los Cordova is a historic palace renowned for its rich legacy and brilliant architecture. This majestic palace is an indispensable place that lets you know about how it has shaped the city’s identity. It was built in the Placeta de las Descalzas between 1530 and 1592 and later moved to the Cuesta del Chapiz in 1960.

The palace has beautifully landscaped gardens and offers a splendid view of the Alhambra. The ivy-covered walls, mossy pavings, and beautiful fountains give it the effect of a fairytale paradise, where you can also see frightening faces on some walls intended to ward off evil spirits from entering the building.

Its gardens and rooms are used for formal meetings and celebrations and have a Renaissance façade and beautiful interior with Mudejar and Gothic elements that draw visitors from all around the world. The palace now contains important city archives and is open to the public for free.
