About Carmen de los Mártires

The Carmen de los Martires is a beautiful white building located in the centre of Granada, Spain built in the early 19th century as a monastery for Carmelite monks. However, it was later converted into a military barracks and then a hospital. In the early 20th century, it was finally opened to the public as a cultural heritage site.

The building is designed in the Renaissance style and is considered one of the best examples of this type of architecture in Granada. The façade is adorned with numerous sculptures and reliefs, most notably a group of four sculptures depicting scenes from the life of Saint Teresa of Ávila, who founded the Carmelite order in Spain in the 16th century.

There are also several fountains and statues, which make it a great place to take photos. In addition, the park provides an excellent view of the Alhambra, which is one of Granada's most famous landmarks. It is a place where history meets modernity, and where you can find some of the most stunning architecture and scenery imaginable.
