How to Reach Hiroshima

1. By air: There are no direct flights to Hiroshima, but several connecting flights are available to Hiroshima Airport (HIJ) via Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo. Popular airlines operating flights on this route are Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, and All Nippon Airways. The total travel time usually ranges from 11 to 20 hours, depending on the airline and layover duration. Alternatively, you can book a flight to major cities like Tokyo or Osaka and then take a Shinkansen bullet train to Hiroshima. The train ride takes about 4 hours from Tokyo and 1 hour from Osaka depending on the train service and number of stops.

Visa Requirement

1. Travellers from visa-exempt countries can visit Hiroshima without a prior visa for short stays, however they must submit valid passports, return tickets, and financial proof. 

2. Tourists from other countries must apply for a short-term tourist visa that lets you stay in Japan for up to 90 days. 

3. Japan does not permit Visa-on-arrival for Indian tourists. So, all travellers from India must obtain a valid Japan visa before arriving in the country.

4. To apply for the visa, submit the visa application form and fee along with the required documents including a valid passport, bio-data, itinerary, accommodation details, flight details and financial statements.
