Yamunotri

Being the source of the River Yamuna, Yamunotri has a lot of significance in history as well. It is situated at a height of 3293 meters. Yamunotri is considered to be the supreme among the four sites of India’s Chhota Char Dham pilgrimage. The temple dedicated to Goddess Yamuna is the prime attraction here along with the charming holy thermal springs at Janki Chatti. It was constructed by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. The whole location arranges the best features such as lush green meadows, glacier sights and revamping climate throughout the year. But majorly, the difficulty to reach the top extends a thrilling experience to those who love adventure and escapades. You can reach the location by walking through the rugged plains and roads, 6 KM from Hanuman Chatti and 4 KM from Janki Chatti.

It’s only when you start walking that you realize you are actually walking on a glacier. Trekking on such a massive trek is challenging but definitely an experience that you can get nowhere else.

It was an outstanding trekking experience we had! Within the 15 days, we got ample of opportunity to visit several important destinations like temples, villages, got the chance to walk through snowy fields and lot more. The best of the entire trek was the rest days we got to get used to the change in the climate and the local atmosphere. Overall, it was a decently planned trek.

Trekking was such an exciting experience. Had a bit of problem with the low temperature. As the trekking duration is quite long, make sure you do packing very carefully. Ideally, you should get porters to carry your bags and baggage, but then there is a limit to the weight they usually carry.

The last two days were so much fun. We surely needed that buffer day at the end. Since, the beginning till the end ,it all felt like a dream come true. I really wish there were more facilities to start a life there. I would have run right away. But' I guess that's the beauty of it.

Pack yourself properly and get into this trek. Also be prepared for challenges on the way. Listen to the guides and instructors as much as you can. Things might change on the way, but then if you follow the rules and instructions you will complete this trek with an ease.

My trek mates were just awesome. They were all so friendly. We all belonged to different states but, felt like a family. The groups were well-arranged by the guides to help us enjoy. We were all the same age that is why we enjoyed so much.

We had a team match amongst the trek group. We would race to spots like Badrinath and Kedarnath. The team reaching late will compensate by doing some tasks. It was fun and exciting. Would definitely recommend it to friends.
