Located in the Malnad and Maidan district the town of Hassan is at a distance of 187 km from Bangalore. The monuments and ancient structures are some of the finest examples of the style of architecture from the Hoysala Era. 

Hassan is home to some spectacular temples and monuments. Besides these, you will also find beautifully sculpted statues such as the Bahubali Statue, dams, theme parks, untouched forests and forest reserves and so much more. There are several 12th century temples and monuments that can enthrall the most ardent history buffs. Some of the finest ancient temples are Koravangala Temple, Kedareshwara Temple, Ishvara Temple and the Hoysala Temples in Mosale. 

Hassan holds many famous attractions of Karnataka that you don't want to miss on your tour to Karnataka. One of the most famous attractions of this city is the statue of Lord Bahubali or Gomateshwara, which is 27 meters high. Apart from this, you can enjoy the very popular Hoysala Temples at Mosale, Gorur Dam, Kabbaligere Hill, Bisle Ghat and Forest Reserve and many more.  

Hassan offers several adventurous activities that can keep you enthralled throughout your trip. Some of the most popular activities here include trekking in Kabbaligere Hill and many other islands near Hassan. In the Tungabhadra River, you can do river rafting, kayaking, and swimming. You can also indulge in a camping trip and set up camp near the river or on the hill side. You can also sit on the riverside and enjoy a bonfire with friends or family.

Hassan is a unique destination and offers a whole different side to its attractions in every season. The best time to visit here is during winters when the weather is really pleasant and perfect for outdoor activities as well as sightseeing. Although the summers are hot and humid, the temples still offer a cool respite if you plan to visit Hassan during the summers. My family of four stayed here. We booked one room, and we warmly received by the guide , Fadhil. Our stay was pretty comfortable and the food was really good too.
