Eastern Europe Packages

Reviewed by Thrillophilia Eastern Europe Operations Team

Eastern Europe tour packages start from INR 51,000 per person and go up to INR 1,40,000, with trip durations ranging from 4 to 15 days. These packages commonly cover Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Salzburg, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Slovakia, Poland and Romania, giving travellers options for short city-led holidays and longer multi-country Europe routes.

As per Thrillophilia’s internal booking data, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Salzburg and Poland are among the most preferred Eastern Europe choices for Indian travellers.

Thrillophilia’s Eastern Europe packages include visa assistance, airport transfers, handpicked hotels, professional local guides, guided tours, customisation options and 24/7 customer support. Some itineraries also include flights, cruises and curated city experiences, helping travellers explore Europe with a planned route instead of managing every transfer and sightseeing day alone.

A good Eastern Europe trip should not be planned only around the number of cities. The right package should match your visa plan, transfer comfort, travel days and budget, so the route feels smooth instead of rushed. Thrillophilia’s Eastern Europe travel experts suggest choosing packages based on visa requirements, city order, comfortable transfers and enough time for sightseeing.

Eastern Europe Tour Package Cost Breakdown 2026

Eastern Europe tour package costs depend on the countries covered, trip duration, hotel category, visa support, transfers, guided sightseeing, flights and travel season. Travellers can choose from Prague-Vienna-Budapest routes, Russia tours, Slovakia holidays, Romania-Bulgaria trips and longer Germany-Poland or multi-country group tours.

What Counts as Eastern Europe for Trip Planning

Eastern Europe does not mean one fixed list of countries. Travel planning often includes Central and Eastern European routes that fit well together for Indian travellers. Prague, Vienna, and Budapest are the most practical first-time anchors because they connect well and offer different travel moods.

Prague gives old town walks with castle areas and river views. Vienna adds palace visits and museums with cafés and a good city vibe. Budapest offers thermal baths and Danube views with a livelier evening feel. This 3-city circuit often works better than a crowded plan that tries to cover 6 countries in the same number of days.

Krakow can be added when the traveller wants Poland and deeper history. Ljubljana and Lake Bled work when the route needs alpine scenery after city time. Zagreb and Dubrovnik make sense for travellers who want Croatia, but that usually needs more days.

This definition matters because the easiest map route is not always the easiest travel route. A city may look close on a map, but require a long rail day, border check or flight connection. The client blueprint also says this page should work as an itinerary-first planner and not a decorative country list.

Best Eastern Europe Route Options

As per Thrillophilia’s on-ground team, Prague, Vienna and Budapest work best for first-time travellers because the route has smoother transfers and strong sightseeing value. A good Eastern Europe travel itinerary should lock the city order before flights, hotels and visa documents are finalised.

Prague + Vienna + Budapest

This is the strongest first-time Eastern Europe tour itinerary. It works because the cities are famous, well-connected and different enough to justify the travel time. Prague gives castle views and old streets. Vienna adds cafés, palaces and opera culture. Budapest brings thermal baths and Danube-side evenings.

A 7-day version should stay tight. Travellers can spend 2 nights in Prague, 2 nights in Vienna and 2 nights in Budapest. The remaining time gets used for arrival, departure and transfers.

An 8 to 10 day version feels better. It gives time for Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna cafés, Buda Castle and a Budapest thermal bath without rushing each morning.

Budapest + Prague

This route is good for travellers with 5 to 6 days. The live Thrillophilia page lists Best of Budapest & Prague | Group Tour Package at Rs. 95,000 for 5 days and 4 nights. The card shows 2 days in Budapest and 3 days in Prague.

This route suits travellers who want a shorter Europe plan. It also works for those who prefer fewer transfers and more focused city time.

A traveller, Abhijit Morbale, who travelled with us on this route and booked Best of Budapest & Prague, appreciated the trip guidance and support by Thrillophilia in his post-trip feedback and said: “Pickup-drop timing, support guidance and itinerary explanation helped me make my first Europe trip smooth”.

Vienna + Budapest + Prague + Salzburg

This is a more complete route for travellers who want an Eastern Europe group tour with a wider city mix. You get an Eastern Europe Group Tour with FREE Vltava Cruise at Rs. 2,05,100 for 8 days and 7 nights. The route card includes Vienna, Budapest, Prague and Salzburg.

This works for travellers who want guided movement and less planning stress. It is not the cheapest route, but it adds more structure.

Sneha Desai, who travelled from Ahmedabad on the Gems of Europe | FREE Trip to Prague Castle package, rated her trip 4 out of 5. Sneha appreciated the pre-arranged skip-the-line tickets for the Colosseum. When a hotel in Rome was farther from the city centre than expected, the team helped arrange a cab at short notice. Overall, she was happy with how the honeymoon trip was planned and managed. Experiences like this show why on-trip support matters on multi-country holidays.

Poland-Inclusive Route

Slovenia and Croatia work better in a 10 to 12 day plan. Ljubljana, Lake Bled, Zagreb and Dubrovnik add scenery and coastal variety. They should be added only when the traveller has enough time for transfers.

Visa and Travel Document Planning

Visa planning should happen before the route is locked. Most popular Eastern Europe routes include Schengen countries such as Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia and Croatia. That means Indian citizens usually need a Schengen Type C visa.

The Schengen short-stay visa fee increased to 90 euros for adults and 45 euros for children aged 6 to 12 starting 11 June 2024. The Government of Slovenia published the same updated fee structure after the European Commission's decision.

Travel insurance is also important. VFS Global’s Germany guidance for Indian applicants says Schengen travel insurance should have a minimum cover of 30,000 euros and should be valid for the full Schengen area and full stay period.

Travellers should apply in the country where they spend the most nights. If the stay is equal across countries, the first entry country can matter. This is why the hotel-night split should be final before the visa file is prepared.

Route complexity increases when non-Schengen countries are added. Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia need careful checking based on the travel date and exact itinerary. Do not assume every Balkan extension is covered without confirming entry rules.

Samidha Vichare shared that pre-travel support, visa documentation help and the tour manager’s guidance made the Europe planning process easier to handle.

Best Time to Visit Eastern Europe

Spring: March to May

Spring is one of the most comfortable times to plan an Eastern Europe trip. The weather starts to feel warmer, and cities such as Prague and Budapest, along with Vienna and Krakow, become easier to explore on foot.

This season works well for travellers who want walking tours and castle visits. It also suits café time without peak summer crowds. Couples and families who prefer mild weather can plan this period comfortably.

Summer: June to August

Summer is the busiest travel season in Eastern Europe. Days are longer, and outdoor sightseeing becomes easier, especially in the major cities.

This is a good time for first-time travellers who want safer weather and longer sightseeing hours. Hotel and flight prices can rise during this period, so early booking is useful.

Autumn: September to November

Autumn is one of the best-balanced seasons for Eastern Europe tour packages from India. The weather becomes cooler, and the summer crowd starts to reduce.

Prague, Budapest, Vienna and Krakow feel more relaxed during this period. It is a good time for travellers who want walking tours, castle visits, river views and better overall comfort.

Winter: December to February

Winter is best for travellers who want Christmas markets and festive streets. It also works well for those who enjoy snow-season charm. December is especially good for Prague and Vienna. Budapest and Krakow also feel lively during the festive period.

January and February can be very cold. Travellers should choose this season only when they are comfortable with winter clothing and shorter daylight hours.

Top Cities and Experiences to Include

Prague

Prague should be part of most Eastern Europe tours. The live page highlights Prague as a major city on several package cards. The Prague, Vienna and Budapest package includes 2 days in Prague. The Budapest and Prague package includes 3 days in Prague.

Prague is best for old town walks and Charles Bridge. Prague Castle and the Astronomical Clock area also make it a strong first city. Sightseeing feels easy to understand, which helps first-time Europe travellers settle into the route faster.

Know More About: Pague Tour Packages

Vienna

Vienna works well for travellers who want architecture, cafés, palaces and classical music. It also fits the Prague and Budapest circuit cleanly.

The live page lists Vienna in multiple Eastern Europe routes, including the Prague, Vienna and Budapest route and the Eastern Europe Group

Tour with Vltava Cruise.

Know More About: Vienna Tour Packages

Budapest

Budapest gives the route a different mood. It is good for Danube views, thermal baths, Buda Castle and nightlife. It works well as a first or last stop because the city has enough variety for both guided sightseeing and free evenings.

Know More About: Budapest Tour Packages

Krakow

Kraków is best for travellers who want deeper historical context. The old town, Wawel Castle and Jewish Quarter give the city strong value. Auschwitz-Birkenau can be added as a day trip, but it should be planned respectfully and not treated like a casual attraction.

Ljubljana and Lake Bled

Slovenia works when travellers want a scenic break after cities. Lake Bled is better for a slower day with lake views and light walking.

Dubrovnik and Croatia

Croatia is useful for travellers who want coastal heritage. Dubrovnik adds a different atmosphere, but it also increases transfer complexity. Add it only when the trip has enough days.

Common Mistakes Travellers Make While Planning Eastern Europe

  1. Overpacking cities: A 7-day trip with 5 or 6 cities usually leaves travellers tired. It is better to spend more time in 3 strong cities.
  2. Ignoring visa fit: A route can look simple online, but it can become harder when the paperwork is checked late. Visa fit should shape the itinerary early.
  3. Poor transfer sequencing: Prague to Vienna to Budapest works smoothly. Random city order can add wasted hours.
  4. Adding too many one-night stops: One night usually means check-in, dinner and check-out. It gives very little real city time.
  5. Choosing only by price: A hotel far outside the city centre can make each day tiring. A cheaper package can cost more in time and local transport.
  6. Not checking rail versus flight logic: Some routes work best overland. Others need a smarter flight split.

Why Thrillophilia Makes Eastern Europe Trips Easier to Plan

Multi-country trips in Eastern Europe need careful planning around city order, transfers, stays and visa requirements. Thrillophilia helps organise these details while providing support throughout the journey.

  • Route-First Planning: Thrillophilia assists travelers in selecting which city sequence will be best for them. With a good arrangement of the number of nights and transfers, a Prague, Vienna and Budapest route can run smoothly.
  • Schengen-Aware Itinerary Support: Most of the Eastern Europe itineraries require Schengen visa planning. Thrillophilia aids travellers in visa assistance, hotel-night balance and entry requirements before the ultimate route is locked.
  • Better Transfer Logic: Wider routes may require a flight mix, some routes in Eastern Europe do fine by train or coach. Thrillophilia assists in planning transfers so that the trip won't be tedious due to lack of city order.
  • Useful Support for First-Time Europe Travellers: Prague, Vienna and Budapest are solid first-time Europe options with old cities, palaces, rivers and guided tours. Thrillophilia will ensure that the route stays simple enough to enjoy each city.
  • Availability for Various Travel Styles: For those wishing to travel on a budget, compact city routes are available, and for those wishing to travel on a high level, longer group tours are also available with Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia and/or Romania. This allows the travellers to fit the trip into their days and budget.
  • Travel Support for Guided Comfort During Multi-Country Travel: Eastern Europe includes such services as visa assistance, airport transfers, handpicked hotels, local guides and 24/7 assistance. This helps to avoid confusion over routes and facilitates the management of multi-country travel.

Booked a Switzerland, Italy and France trip through Thrillophilia for our honeymoon. The planning was good and our coordinator Neha was patient with all our questions during the booking process. Mt Titlis experience and the Lucerne day were highlights of the Switzerland portion. In Italy, the Cinque Terre addition which Neha suggested turned out to be the best two days of the entire trip. Colosseum in Rome with pre-arranged skip the line tickets was a very thoughtful inclusion. The only thing I would say is that one of the hotels in Rome was a bit further from the city center than we expected. But the Thrillophilia team helped rebook a cab fo... Read More

My recent trip to European Gems with Thrillophilia was an absolute whirlwind of enchantment and adventure!
