1. The Kawarau River: Kawarau River is perfect for people who are ardent adventure lovers. Kawarau River is also the longest commercially rafted rapid river in New Zealand. It is 400 meters long and the launch site for the river Kawarau is located east of Queenstown. You need to travel 25 minutes via historic Arrowtown to get to the starting point. The adventurous side of the Kawarau River is at the Shot Over River which is a 40 minutes drive from Queenstown, but becomes inaccessible via road during Spring and helicopters are used to get to the location. 2. King River: King River is one of the best places to have white water rafting in Queenstown. You will get to soak in the beautiful views of the rainforest as soon as you reach the location. 3. The Mohaka River: Located in the east-central region of Hawke’s Bay, Mohaka River is one of the best places in New Zealand to experience white water rafting and is graded 2-5 for rafting.
