About Guntur

Guntur is the largest city in Andhra Pradesh. Guntur city is the 11th most densely populated city in India and ranks 24th in the world. Since Guntur is situated in the plains, you can find a few hillocks in the surrounding suburban areas and the city itself is bordered by the Perecherla Reserve Forest in the north-west. The official language of the city is Telugu, but other languages like Hindi, Odia, Urdu, English are also spoken by the locals.

The Amareshwara Temple is a very popular shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Mangalgiri is located between Guntur and Vijayawada and is a famous Vaishnav Temple. The other main attraction of Guntur is the remnants of the Buddhist Stupa built in 1796.
