Visa Requirements For Tanzania:

If you're an Indian citizen travelling to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, you must obtain a short-term tourist visa allowing stays up to 90 days. Thus, ensure you have a passport valid for at least six months beyond your entry date, along with one blank visa page. You must also have recent passport-sized photos, flight and accommodation details, and proof of sufficient funds.

The easiest way to get a Tanzanian visa is through an e-visa portal. You can visit the Tanzania Immigration Services website, create an account, and fill out the form accurately. Next, you must attach the necessary documents, pay the visa fee (around INR 5200), and submit. Keep in mind that visa processing may take 10-15 days, and once approved, you'll receive the e-visa via email.

Alternatively, you can apply for a visa on arrival by completing the form at the entry point in the airport. You have to present your passport and return ticket, pay the fee in cash (typically USD), and receive the visa instantly.

Best Time To Visit Serengeti National Park:

With Tanzania tour packages you can visit Serengeti National Park all through the year.

1. Peak season (June - September, January-February): From July to September, you can take in the Great Migration on the Serengeti. For the best chances of seeing predators crossing the Masai Mara, August is perfect. However, in September you can see the Mara River crossed by smaller herds.

2. Shoulder Season (March to May): In the Serengeti, March through May marks the start of a more tranquil time. April sees fewer tourists, making it an excellent time to explore hidden spots. In May, the park is peaceful after heavy rains, making it a good time to explore the western and central regions.

3. Waning Season (October to December): In the Serengeti, watch as the fading season (October to December) transforms dry plains into verdant, rolling grasslands. Even when the Wildebeest Migration is over, there is still fantastic game viewing. The Great Migration arrives in Ndutu in December, so book early for a smooth trip.

How to Reach Serengeti National Park:

By Air - You can reach Tanzania via connecting flights from the major cities of India Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, and New Delhi. These flights post departure will take you to Zanzibar’s Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ), Dar es Salaam’s Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR), or Arusha Airport (ARK). Some of the major airlines serving this route include Air France, Alitalia, Ethiopian Airlines, and Hahn Air. You can reach Tanzania via these flights in about 15-33 hours depending on your layovers at Adis Ababa, Nairobi, and Sharjah.
