Paris Trip Cost from India

For 2026, a comprehensive budget for a 7-day Paris trip from India typically ranges from INR 135,000 for value-conscious travellers to over INR 350,000 for those seeking a premium experience. These estimates assume a week-long stay in central Paris and return travel from major hubs like Delhi or Mumbai.

Low budget (INR 100,000 to INR 135,000 per person)

This budget is ideal for solo travellers or backpackers who prioritise exploration over luxury. You can discover the city effectively by staying in pocket-friendly accommodations and using the excellent public transit system of Paris.

  • Flights and Visa: Secure economy tickets early for around INR 55,000. Combined with the INR 9746 Schengen visa, your entry costs are roughly around INR 65,000.
  • Accommodation: Look for hostels in areas like Montmartre (18th Arrondissement) or Belleville (20th Arrondissement). Shared dorms or basic budget rooms cost approximately INR 3,000 to INR 5,000 per night.
  • Dining and Transport: Keep aside INR 2,000 per day for food by eating at local boulangeries and supermarket delis. Use a Navigo Weekly pass for unlimited Metro travel at roughly €32.40 (approx. INR 3510)
  • Activities: Focus more on accessing the free landmarks like the Sacré-Cœur steps, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Tuileries Garden. Limit paid entries to one or two major spots like the Louvre or a basic Seine River cruise.

Mid-range budget (INR 175,000 to INR 260,000 per person)

Most Indian couples and families choose this tier of budget to ensure a comfortable stay in the heart of Paris. This plan can include a mix of guided tours, day trips, and diverse dining experiences.

  • Flights and Visa: Expect to spend between INR 70,000 and INR 90,000 for more convenient flight timings or last-minute bookings. Total entry costs, including visa, can range between INR 98,000 and INR 100,000.
  • Accommodation: Stay in 3-star or 4-star boutique hotels in central areas like the 9th or 15th arrondissements. These usually range from INR 9,000 to INR 15,000 per night and often include breakfast.
  • Dining and Transport: Allocate INR 4,500 per day for meals. This allows for a "Menu du Jour" at a bistro and one nice dinner. Use the Metro regularly, but also factor in occasional evening taxis or ride-shares for comfortable experiences with your partner or while enjoying a family trip to Paris.
  • Activities: This budget covers summit access at the Eiffel Tower, a skip-the-line Louvre tour, and a day trip to Versailles. You can also include a dinner cruise on the Seine within this budget.

Paris Visa for Indians

Paris Visa Requirements

A trip to Paris requires a Schengen visa, which covers access to all Schengen states, including France, for your approved duration. You must apply for this visa through VFS Global India, which serves as the official application submission point. It is best to apply at least 6 weeks before your intended departure to be safe.

Documents required for Indians

  • You will need a valid Indian passport with at least six months of validity.
  • A cover letter stating your reason for visit
  • Confirmed flight bookings and proof of accommodation.
  • You must also provide bank statements from the last three to six months and travel insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000 (around INR 32,48,550 as of April 2026)

As stated by the Embassy of India (France and Principality of Monaco), Indian travellers must be able to justify their stay's purpose, show confirmed accommodation and return tickets, and provide proof of sufficient funds for the entire duration of their visit.

Paris Visa fee

The Schengen visa fee is €90, which is approximately INR 9750. Children between the ages of 6 and 12 are eligible for a visa at a reduced fee of €45 (around INR 4873). These rates are subject to currency fluctuations, so verify the exact INR amount at the time of your appointment.

Paris Visa Processing Time

The standard processing time is between 15 and 30 working days. During peak seasons like May or October, it can take longer due to multiple applications. It is important to ensure all your documents are properly submitted to avoid delays in planning your Paris holiday.

Best time to visit Paris

Paris has an oceanic temperate climate, which means that the city experiences mild winters, warm summers, and moderate rainfall throughout the year.

Spring (April–June): Best Overall

This is the best overall window for Indian travellers. The city's gardens are in full bloom, and the weather is perfect for walking tours, cycling, excursions, and cruises. Temperatures range from 12°C to 22°C, and the crowds are more manageable compared to the summer peak.

Summer (July–August): Peak season

This is the busiest time in Paris. It coincides with Indian school summer holidays, so expect long queues as the traveller crowd is dense. Prices for hotels are at their highest, and the temperatures fluctuate between 20°C and 30 °C. It is always best to book your attraction tickets in advance during these months.

Autumn (September–October): Shoulder Season

This is the second-best window for the trip with our Paris tour packages. The weather remains cool, and the autumn hues paint beautiful scenery throughout the city. It is also a great time for Indian families and couples travelling during the Diwali break, as you can often find better hotel rates than in the summer season. Also, if you're going to Paris in October, it really stands out for its crisp air, fewer crowds, and golden foliage across avenues like the Champs-Élysées, making sightseeing far more relaxed and visually rewarding.

Winter (November–March): Low Season

Paris in winter is cold, with temperatures between 2°C and 8°C. However, the Christmas markets from late November to December and the New Year season attract moderate crowds. You will find fewer tourists at the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, making it a quiet time for sightseeing.

Note: The Paris Fashion Week generally takes place every year between January and March, affecting the accommodation prices due to the high inflow of tourists and visitors.

How to reach Paris

Direct flights from India to Paris

Air India operates non-stop flights from Delhi to Paris CDG. The flight time is approximately 8 hours to 10 hours. Air France also provides direct connections from both Delhi and Mumbai. A direct flight from India to Paris usually costs between INR 70,000 and INR 140,000, varying as per the travel season.

Connecting Flights from India

If you are flying to Paris from other Indian cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, or Hyderabad, you are most likely to take a one-stop flight. Popular carriers include Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha, and Lufthansa via Frankfurt. These flights can be more budget-friendly, and they take almost 13-17 hours to reach. The tickets range from INR 55,000 to INR 1,10,000 as per seasonal variation in prices and the boarding destination.

Paris Airport to City Centre

Most flights from India arrive at Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport in Paris. The RER B train is the most efficient way to reach the city centre, taking 45 minutes and costing just €11.80 to €14 (INR 1278 to INR 1516). Taxis offer fixed fares of €56 (around INR 6064) to Paris Rive Droite and €65 (around INR 7039) to Paris Rive Gauche, with the duration ranging from 40 minutes to an hour.

Thrillophilia Traveller Note:

Kabir Arora, who travelled with us by booking ‘France Belgium Netherlands with FREE Paris City Monuments Excursion’, said, “It was a professionally managed tour. The historic sites had all the necessary facilities. Coordination between the Paris team and driver was perfect, making the journey smooth.”

Go for a Montmartre walking tour

Explore the winding streets of the 18th Arrondissement by taking a relaxing walk. Start at the Place du Tertre, where you can watch artists paint portraits and also get yours done. Then you can walk past the "I Love You" wall near the Abbesses metro station and end the journey at the Sacré-Cœur.

Paris 5-day Itinerary

This itinerary brings together the best sightseeing spots in and around Paris, curated to keep a relaxed pace. It is perfect for first-time visitors who want to experience the best of this city without feeling rushed.

Day 1: Arrival and first look at the Eiffel Tower

After arriving at Charles de Gaulle Airport and checking into your hotel, make your way to the Trocadéro esplanade in the late afternoon. This is widely considered the best spot for your first photo of the Eiffel Tower, as it offers a clear, wide-angle view from across the river. As the sun sets, walk across the Pont d'Iéna bridge towards the tower. For dinner, explore the bistros in the 7th Arrondissement near the tower. Stay long enough to see the first sparkle of the Eiffel Tower light show, which happens every hour on the hour from dusk.

Day 2: A day for world-class art

Dedicate your morning to the Louvre Museum. It is massive, so focus on the "Big Three": the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and the Winged Victory. Use the Porte des Lions entrance if available to avoid the longest queues at the glass pyramid. After lunch, walk across the Seine to the Musée d'Orsay. This museum is smaller and more manageable, featuring famous Impressionist works by Monet and Van Gogh. In the evening, take a quiet walk along the banks of the Seine, a UNESCO-recognised area, as the city lights reflect on the water.

Day 3: Historic islands and hilltop views

Start your morning at Île de la Cité, the historic heart of Paris. Visit the newly reopened Notre Dame Cathedral, then explore the nearby Sainte-Chapelle for its stunning stained glass. By afternoon, wander into Le Marais, a trendy district filled with Jewish bakeries and boutique shops. End your day by taking the metro to Montmartre. Visit the Sacré-Cœur Basilica at sunset for a panoramic view of the entire city from the highest hilltop in Paris.

Day 4: Royal grandeur at Versailles

Take a full-day trip to the Palace of Versailles. Located about 45 minutes from central Paris via the RER C train, this royal estate requires significant time. Spend your morning exploring the Hall of Mirrors and the King’s Grand Apartments. After lunch, spend a few hours in the Gardens of Versailles and the Queen's Hamlet.

A Crucial Tip: You must book your entry time slot online weeks in advance, as tickets regularly sell out. Return to Paris in the evening for a relaxed meal at a local bistro.

Day 5: Explore the Grand Avenue before departure

On your final day, start at the Arc de Triomphe. If you climb to the top, you can see all twelve grand avenues of Paris meeting at the centre. Walk down the Champs-Élysées, which is perfect for both luxury window-shopping and visiting flagship stores like Sephora or Nike. For high-end fashion, explore the "Golden Triangle" (Avenue Montaigne). If you have time before your flight, visit a local boulangerie to pick up some fresh macarons or French chocolates as souvenirs before heading to the airport.

Note: Tickets for the Eiffel Tower summit, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Palace of Versailles must be booked online in advance. Between April and September, these spots are extremely popular, and tickets are rarely available at the gate.

Restaurants in Paris

Café culture is essential to Parisian life. Lunch sets or "formules" are usually the most cost-effective way to eat a high-quality three-course meal. You can find many Michelin-starred restaurants and historic brasseries on your Paris holiday. These spots often require reservations weeks in advance and have a formal dress code.

Indian food in Paris

Paris has evolved significantly to accommodate the needs of Indian travellers, offering a wide range of authentic South Asian and plant-based dining options.

  • Passage Brady (Little India): Located in the 10th Arrondissement near Gare du Nord, this historic covered arcade is the one-stop hub for Indian food in Paris. You will find dozens of restaurants like Pooja and Le Palais de l'Inde offering everything from Punjabi curries to South Indian dosas. Most establishments here are affordable and offer reliable halal options.
  • Café Bharath: This is a popular spot for travellers looking for authentic South Indian flavours, particularly crispy dosas, uttapam, appam, rasam, and traditional filter coffee.
  • Maison de l’Inde: Located within the Cité Internationale Universitaire, this cultural centre often hosts Indian events and is a landmark for the Indian diaspora. The surrounding area in the 14th Arrondissement features several small eateries that serve homestyle Indian meals like Rajma Chawal, Kadhi Pakoda, etc.
  • Arya Bhavan: This is a highly-rated, 100% pure vegetarian Indian restaurant with locations near Gare du Nord and Notre Dame. It is an excellent choice for those seeking North and South Indian thalis or Jain food.

Vegetarian French dining

Plant-based eating is a major trend in Paris, and many local restaurants now focus entirely on creative vegetarian cuisine. Supermarkets like Monoprix and Carrefour also carry extensive "Veggie" ranges for quick snacks.

  • Le Potager du Marais: Located in the 3rd Arrondissement, this cosy spot specialises in vegetarian and vegan versions of traditional French dishes like onion soup and boeuf bourguignon.
  • Maslow: A trendy restaurant on the banks of the Seine that serves "comfort" vegetarian food, including creative small plates and great views.
  • Faubourg Daimant: Known for its sophisticated, 100% plant-based and Vegan French cuisine, perfect for a high-end vegetarian dinner.
  • L’As du Falafel: A legendary spot in Le Marais (Rue des Rosiers) for the best falafel in the city.

Note for travellers: While many menus now feature "végétarien" sections, always specify your requirements. Use the phrase "sans viande, sans poisson" (no meat, no fish) when ordering to ensure your meal is strictly vegetarian.

Nightlife in Paris

Here are some of the best things you can plan to experience nighlife in Paris:

Seine evening cruise

Taking a Seine cruise during the night hours lets you see the city's landmarks in their absolute best, illuminated and glittering under the dark sky. Most cruises like the Bateaux Mouches and Bateaux Parisiens depart from near the Eiffel Tower base or Pont de l'Alma, and take you on a 1-hour tour around the riverbank while covering spots like Notre-Dame and Musée d'Orsay.

Evening cruises cost: Around INR 1,400 per person.

Eiffel Tower light show

The Eiffel Tower sparkles with thousands of golden lights every hour for 5 minutes from dusk until 1-2 AM. During the winter season, this display lasts till 11 or 12 PM. The Trocadéro esplanade across the river or the public green space of Champ de Mars are the best free spots to watch this display.

Moulin Rouge Cabaret Show

The Moulin Rouge in Montmartre is the world’s most iconic cabaret, famous for its "Féerie" revue and the French cancan. Dinner and show packages start around INR 17,000 (€185), while show-only tickets with champagne begin at INR 12,890 (€119). You can see 80 talented performers in dazzling costumes putting up a fantastic show in the historic Belle Époque atmosphere.

Night Out in Le Marais Neighbourhood

Located close to the Place de la Bastille, the Le Marais district is famous for its lively bar scene and late-night energy. Most bars stay open until 2 AM, offering the chance to witness the nightlife of Paris. It is a safe and fashionable area to enjoy a cocktail or a glass of French wine after dinner.

Paris for Indian Travellers

Currency and money tips

France uses the Euro (€) as a currency, and the exchange rate is roughly INR 109 per €1 (as of April 2026 exchange rates), but you should verify this before you fly. A simple Forex tip- Use ATMs in the city for better rates than airport counters, or pre-order Forex in India for a better conversion rate. You must inform your bank in India before you travel to confirm the transaction fee and to ensure your cards work abroad.

Vegetarian and halal food

Vegetarians can find over 20+ restaurant options in the 10th Arrondissement near Passage Brady. It is a covered arcade where you can get Indian and Asian cuisines at an affordable price. You can also stock some vegetables while exploring the French supermarkets like Carrefour and Monoprix. Halal food is also widely available in the 10th, 18th, and 19th arrondissements. Most French menus now clearly mark vegetarian dishes.

Paris metro guide

The Metro has 16 lines and is very easy to navigate by line number and terminus name. A single ticket costs €2.55, around INR 278 (as of April 2026). If you are staying for a week, a Navigo Easy card is the best option.

Quick tip: Download the RATP app to check train timings and routes offline.

Power adapters and SIM cards

France uses Type E/F plugs with two round pins. Indian Type D or M plugs will not work without an adapter, so make sure to carry one. You can buy a local SIM card from Orange, Bouygues, or Free Mobile at the airport upon arrival for around €30 ( around INR 3250). Alternatively, you can buy international SIM card plans from Airtel or Jio before your departure. Travellers can get a reliable 4G network throughout the city, even while travelling in metros.

Subject: An Unforgettable Diwali Family Adventure in Spain & Portugal with Thrillophilia! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) Our recent 11-day family vacation to Spain and Portugal during the Diwali holidays in October 2025 was nothing short of spectacular, all thanks to the meticulous planning and execution by Thrillophilia. From the moment we landed until our departure, the "Beyond Boundaries" tour was curated with utmost perfection. The minute-to-minute details were so well-managed that we never felt like we were navigating a foreign country on our own. As a family traveling with our two daughters, this peace of mind was priceless. The quality of the... Read More

Trip was good but a bit tiring. Every 2 days new city. Packing-unpacking gets annoying. That said, everything was on schedule so no confusion. One hotel in Rome was not great, rest were fine. Thrillophilia team was always avialble whenever we needed any support. It was one our best family vacation and that too in Europe. Loved the trip and expereince.

Shivani Yadav has been an exceptional guide right from day one when we first connected to plan our Europe trip. She curated an itinerary perfectly tailored to our preferences, allowing us to seamlessly cover Paris, Zurich, Milan, and Rome. Her expertise and patience were invaluable in helping us navigate our very first international journey. What truly set her apart was her unwavering support during a challenging period — our trip coincided with ongoing conflict, and countless flights were being cancelled. Despite the uncertainty, Shivani consistently reassured us that everything would be taken care of, which gave us immense peace of mind. ... Read More

Our Europe trip was planned exceptionally well by Thrillophilia. For a multi-country itinerary covering Switzerland, France, and Italy, the route planning was very good and saved us a lot of travel time. In Switzerland, the Swiss Pass was arranged in advance with clear guidance on how to use it, which made intercity travel seamless. The hotels were chosen smartly close to train stations and city centers so daily travel was convenient. Room quality was consistently good, and every transfer detail was shared clearly. The itinerary showed thoughtful planning, with enough time in each city without making the schedule exhausting.
