Your first stop is Kasol, which is the base village for the trek. It is a beautiful hamlet reflecting Israeli culture, which makes it every backpackers' dream destination.
About the Trek:
One of the most widely sought after treks in India, the Sar Pass Circuit trek opens up to magnificent views of the Himalayan peaks. Originating from the famous village of Kasol, which is also known as the backpackers’ paradise, the trail weaves through a melange of dense forests of pine and rhododendrons, lush meadows and rustic hamlets. Leaning a bit towards a moderate level of difficulty, the trek is ideal for fit beginners.
Huddled in the serene Parvati Valley of Kullu, Sar Pass Circuit offers unmatched views of the roaring Parvati river. The route is truly mesmerising, enhanced by a handful of gurgling streams that emanate a haunting lullaby for trekkers. Trekkers get to cross the icy waters of the river Parvati on their way towards the quaint little village of Nagaru.
The terrain swerves from being a fairytale forest to a winter wonderland with beautiful subtlety. ATM: Kasol is the last point where you will get ATM. However ATM in Kasol is often non operational, So carry sufficient cash to be on the safer side.
After arrival in Kasol, you will be taken from here to Barshaini.
After that, have your appetising breakfast, and get ready for an exhilarating trek. The trek route will go through a lush pine forest, and the easy trail from the Grahan Nahal will be completed in couple of hours without much effort. Post Grahan Nahal, the route will be a continuous ascent, and the path will be laden with steep rocks and rhododendrons trees. To experience life like a local, you can even make a refreshing drink by mixing the rhododendrons petals into the water!
After few more hours of walking, you will reach the village, where you will get awestruck by the captivating view surrounding you. In the evening, you can explore the village and by night sit around the bonfire to share some thrilling stories of your travel. You will be served with dinner, after which you will sleep to get ready for the trek the next morning.
Overnight stay in Grahan Camp.
Today morning after a scrumptious breakfast, you will leave behind the peaceful village of Grahan and move towards Nagaru. While trekking, you will meet various locals on the Min Thatch route. Your path will be laden with all kind of terrains as you move upwards to Nagaru. After a continuous climb, the trail will open into Min Thatch, Nagaru and Sar top. The trail will become difficult after this point, as the steep slope accompanied with snow makes this part of the trek a tough one.
Take delight in the sweeping vistas of the stupendous mountains settled across Parvati valley. Click pictures at the top for your memories and then descend down towards Grahan. On arrival at the camp, get freshened up to have some special moments with your friends around the bonfire. At night, have your dinner and spend time amidst the beautiful natural surroundings.
In the morning, you will be served with breakfast. Your trek will come to an end today and you will begin to descend towards Kasol. On reaching the end point, your Sar Pass circuit trek will be completed after which you can spend the rest of the time at your own leisure.
