Mahatma Gandhi’s paternal house, where he spent his childhood is among the most important places to visit in Rajkot. He had lived in a house off the Gheekanta Road from 1881 to 1887 AD which was known as Kaba Gandhi No Delo. The house has now been converted into a Smruti museum and is managed by an NGO. It depicts the life of Gandhi Ji through pictorial representation and preserved artifacts. Some of his personal belongings are on display and his love for handwoven cloth is being kept alive through a small weaving school in the premises. Popular among historians the museum is equivalent to a shrine for Gandhi followers.
