What You Should Know More About Ecuador

Formerly known as San Francisco de Quito, Quito is the capital city of Ecuador. It is also the capital city which is located at the highest elevation above sea level in the world. Situated in the Putumayo Canton in the Sucumbios Province and in the Aguarico Canton in the Orellana Province, Cuyabeno wildlife reserve is the second largest reserve of the 45 national parks and protected areas in Ecuador. It is one of the areas with the highest biodiversity on Earth. There are three rivers that flow through this reserve Cuyabeno, Aguarico, and San Miguel. This natural reserve also consists of 13 beautiful lakes but only one lake Laguna Grande is open to tourism. Cuyabeno wildlife reserve is home to 550 bird species, 12000 plant species, 350 fish species and many insects, mammals, and reptiles.
Cotopaxi is an active stratovolcano located in the Cotopaxi Province, which is around 50 km south of Quito. Cotopaxi is the second highest summit in Ecuador with a height of 5,897 m. It is also one of the world’s highest above the sea level elevation volcanoes. Viewed foxes, white tail deer, rabbits, odors, spectacled bear and brocket deer are infrequently seen here. You will find a huge collection of stuffed wildlife, a map of Volcano, and some facts about the active volcano at Cotopaxi museum and Visitor center. Get a beautiful panoramic view of Cotopaxi and Rumiñahui which is very close to the city, you can also spot seagulls and occasional condors at Limpiopungo Lagoon.
Cuenca is a third largest city in the country situated in southern Ecuador. It is also the capital of Azuay province.
